PSA: Do not zoom on the 5T

    Posted: 01 Apr 2018 12:24 PM PDT

If you try to zoom using the stock camera on the 5T, your photos will be painted by a drunk and retarded wannabe impressionist painter that only have access to a one fucking huge brush and 2 different colors. The resulting vaguely recognizable smear is then rephotographed by a Chinese knock-off digital camera from 2005, before it's uploaded to MySpace where a shitty oil painting effect is applied. Thereafter it appears as a file on your phone.

How there is not a huge WARNING DO NOT USE THIS FUNCTION shown whenever you try to zoom in the stock camera app is beyond me. Somewhere there's an engineer, having finished his day at work thinking "this is fine, I'm happy with this quality, and I'm sure all our users will enjoy the fantastic camera zoom functionality". I mean, I guess I should be impressed that OnePlus hires blind engineers to work on their camera implementation, but arguably there is probably something else they should work.

I'm completely happy with the 5T in most regards, but if I knew how much of a shitshow zoomed images look like I would never even dare touch the zoom setting. Be warned.

    Google Fi 5T Android 8?

    Posted: 01 Apr 2018 08:05 PM PDT

I was able to activate a new Google Fi SIM card and make one call with a 5T. Then I updated to Android 8 and can not use Google Fi calls or text. Google Fi tech support confirms the SIM card is activated. I have seen other threads indicating success with a OnePlus 5 and I used to use Google Fi on OnePlus 3. Has anyone gotten 5T Android 8 Google Fi to work?

The original inspiration for the notch

    Posted: 01 Apr 2018 03:44 AM PDT

Is the assumption that true OnePlus 6 will have the same total physical dimensions as the 5t?

    Posted: 01 Apr 2018 06:20 PM PDT

Hoping they aren't increasing the overall size of the OnePlus 6. Anyone have any guesses about this?

Does anyone know the tweaks or modules used on the status bar in the OnePlus 5t rooting guide found on XDA?

    Posted: 01 Apr 2018 11:30 AM PDT

The guide in question is here, and I really like the status bar and how the icons aren't the same color in addition to the icons themselves. I am rooted if that helps, I just can't seem to identify what was used. Thanks for any help!

Nova Launcher but with OnePlus memos?

    Posted: 01 Apr 2018 03:11 PM PDT

I'd love to use the Nova Launcher but it removes the memos when swiping left, is there any way to keep it? Or perhaps some app that works exactly the same way?

Issues with network connectivity on OP5

    Posted: 01 Apr 2018 06:23 AM PDT

So for a few days now, I've experienced some nasty issues on my OP5. I cannot clearly pinpoint them, but here is what's most apparent:

Whenever I send messages in Whatsapp, they mostly don't get sent immediately - sometimes up to a minute. Whatsapp web can constantly tells me my phone isn't connected too. Most of the time I can remedy the situation by restarting the app on the phone - not always though.

I furthermore experience issues on certain mobile games, FinalFantasy Recordkeeper specifically - whenever a loading screen between areas happens, it mostly stays there until i kill the app.

Discord also isn't pushing notifications anymore.

I've tried checking up other apps, I've tried Malwarebytes too. I cannot seem to locate the problem. Any suggestions? Anyone else having issues?

    5T Open Beta 5 - yes/no?

    Posted: 31 Mar 2018 10:24 PM PDT

I have never installed a beta version before. Should I install open beta 5? I know an advantage is the gestures but is there anything else? Also, have any of you encountered any issues with the recent beta update. If so, what are they? And lastly, if I were to update, would I need to wipe the cache before and/or after installing the update? Thanks!

Buying an OP5 with an "international" charger in the UK

    Posted: 01 Apr 2018 07:39 AM PDT

For my phone upgrade I am looking at the oneplus 5 as it comes cheaper than the 5T and I don't really care for 18:9 screens, and I actually do prefer a front mounted fingerprint sensor.

Anyway, the place I am buying from seems to be quite legitimate however there is one issue: it has what it describes as an "international" charger. Since I am in the UK, what would be the best course of action?

    1. Buy a UK charger for £15
    2. Buy an EU to UK (EU seems to be the most likely candidate for "international") for £5
I'm already spending more than I would like to by a pretty significant margin so that £10 difference does mean something to me.

What would you recommend? Thanks :)

OPO LineageOS 15.1 upgrade - app crashes

    Posted: 01 Apr 2018 06:53 AM PDT

    Hello,

I have been using my OPO since October 2015 and it started becoming extremely slow during the last few months. It was on CyanogenOS (13.1 I believe) so I decided to go with LineageOS 15.1 to try and get a few more months out if it before upgrading to a new phone. The performance has significantly improved since the upgrade, but I have been experiencing some app crashes, especially on some games (Realm Defense and Hill Climb Racing 2 are the only games I play). Because of that I'm thinking of changing to a different version of Lineage OS. Any known issues with LineageOS 15.1 and apps crashing or is it just me? I tried clearing cache on the apps several times, but the issue remains. I would appreciate any possible solution recommendations or at least other (more stable) ROM suggestions.

    Thanks!

Lineage OS 15.1 on the 5T

    Posted: 31 Mar 2018 09:35 PM PDT

Just a couple of questions, thinking about going to LOS but want to know a couple things first. Hows the battery life? Is there anything you miss from OOS that LOS doesn't have? What do you like about it?

Best ROM for OnePlus 5 in terms of SOT

    Posted: 31 Mar 2018 11:36 PM PDT

    Hi there...

Please share your best experience for ROMs for OP5 in terms of SOT.

Personally, after trying a couple, such as OmniROM and LineageOS, I found that OxygenOS is better in terms of SOT.
