Horrible lag anytime I say, "Okay Google". Posted: 28 Apr 2018 04:10 PM PDT My device is an LG Stylo 2 plus. Anytime I say the phrase above, it will just sit there with the three dots buffering forever, and usually after about 20 or 30 seconds I give up and just press the microphone icon. What gives? It started doing this a couple months ago [link] [comments] |
Can Anyone help with Knox on my android phone? Posted: 28 Apr 2018 05:54 PM PDT I have a Samsung J3 phone with Safelink (some people call it an Obama phone). It's not the one that came with the service. My nephew gave it to me as a gift. It has Knox installed and it's enabled. But I can't disable it or uninstall it. I did some search on line and found out that Knox is no longer being used by Samsung. The reason I wanted to remove it is because I would like to Root my phone and I suspect Knox is blocking the process. Can anyone please help me remove it or direct me to a forum, subreddit or any other sources that I can find some answers. Anything would be greatly appreciated. [link] [comments] |
Should I wait to log into google? Posted: 28 Apr 2018 06:09 PM PDT I just got a new phone, and long story short, in order to qualify for a certain promotion through my provider, it was cost effective for me to (instead of just changing phones) add a new line with this new handset, and then tomorrow I'm swapping my broken phone for this new one. So currently my new phone has a different phone number. However I'm wary about logging into my google account before I swap sims. I don't want google to think that this new phone number is my phone number or something. Should I wait until tomorrow after I've swapped the sims, or will it make no difference if I log in now, and swap sims later (fyi, I'm waiting until tomorrow because metro pcs can be weird the first few hours after any new phone addition etc on their network, so i'm letting all the network kinks iron themselves out before I change sims) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Apr 2018 01:38 PM PDT (I hope this is the right place to post this) I have a Nokia 3 TA-1020 and a couple of days ago it had an update where one of the things that changed was that it had a Dark theme UI and now it is has a Light theme... I may have changed that myself but I can't remember. When I got the device it run on Nougat 7, then it got an update to at least 7.1, it may have had more updates but all I know is that now the version says 8.0.0 which apparently is Oreo and not Nougat. I don't really care about that. What I care about is that I had a Dark theme (I honestly don't remember if I did anything to enable it) but after the update it turned to a Light theme and it is annoying because every device I use is in Dark theme. So basically is there any to change to a Dark theme in... I guess Android Oreo now ? (even though the phone was Nougat) Without downloading/installing anything external. Like I tried to find a solution but I could only find where people would download either a "Dark Theme Unlocker" or just a "Dark Theme" app, because I am 100% I didn't do something like that to change to Dark Theme originally (if I even did it manual and it wasn't the default theme) Apparently the update also changed the icons of some apps to be a white circle with the apps square icon/"thumbnail" in the middle, but I couldn't care less about that. Is there a way to have multiple versions of the same app at the same time? Posted: 28 Apr 2018 05:15 PM PDT So a few months ago, Snapchat updated their app to a controversial new layout that I had to revert to the older version with an apk. But SnapLenses don't work with old versions. I was wandering if it would be possible to have two Snapchats installed at the same time, one that would auto update like normal and one that would stay downgraded? [link] [comments] |
Please help, my andoid phone doesn't turn on no matter what I do Posted: 28 Apr 2018 09:53 AM PDT I don't know what to do anymore I'm literally crying right now please help me. I was flashing my phone (phone model is Lenovo A7000-a) using command prompt earlier to install TWRP recovery and followed the steps correctly. However when I tried going to Recovery Mode, it won't and it'll just reboot. After going to Recovery Mode many times and it still didn't work, I decided to flash it back to Stock Recovery. So I flashed it using SP Flash Tool and followed the steps correctly. It said 'Download Ok' but when I tried to power on my phone, it doesn't turn on. I tried a lot of combinations but there's no vibrations or anything. Did my phone got hard bricked? If yes, is it still fixable? Please help me anyone Edit: I am really thankful to everyone for helping me out and giving me tips. However, earlier this morning when I touched my phone, it was hot and I don't know why. Does anyone have an idea on what's causing this? [link] [comments] |

Snapchat magically gets microphone access Posted: 28 Apr 2018 08:57 AM PDT Hello So I have gone through my permissions with a paranoid hand, turning off all permissions for most all apps. Occasionally I send a moviesnap and give the app one time access to the microphone. However I always need to go back to permissions and turn it off again after. Anyone else have this issue? Posted: 28 Apr 2018 03:43 PM PDT Hey all! I have a galaxy s7 and lately I've been getting pop up ads from Google as I use my phone. On the home screen, as I look through texts, use any app really. I don't think it's adware (or it's very advanced adware) because I scanned my phone for it and I hadn't downloaded anything/gone on sketchy sites/the usual causes. It started a couple days ago. has anyone else been experiencing this? [link] [comments] |
Can't get a cell connection where I used to have one Posted: 28 Apr 2018 09:33 PM PDT I spend most of my work day in the wilderness. Until a few days ago, I used a BlackBerry Passport, then I switched to a Note 8. With the BlackBerry, I could almost always get 1 or 2 bars of 3G service, which was enough to make a call or text or (slowly) load a web page. But now with the Samsung I'm getting no service in the same areas, which is a fairly big problem. I'm with Telus in Canada. I spend most of my time outside the advertised service areas and I have a cell range booster in my work vehicle. My BlackBerry can still grab a signal but my Note cannot, why? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Apr 2018 09:18 PM PDT Hello! I'm going to try and be brief with the subject: I have a Moto G5 Plus and sometimes I use my phone at work do record my voice. But the problem is that sometimes (happens randomly), the audio will 'hop', and skip a couple miliseconds. So, for example, if I say "I have a house" and that bug happens, the recording will sound like "I ha-- ouse.". I've tried different voice recording tools, tried changing recording quality, switch from .wav to .ogg, but nothing works. I think it started about 6 months ago, and it happens in other apps that use your voice such as Smule Sing! as well. I'm a bit desperate since I need to use my phone's voice recording functions to work. If this post breaks any rules, I will promptly edit it so it fits the subreddit's rulebook. Thank you in advance. Where is download folder backed up? Posted: 28 Apr 2018 08:42 PM PDT Hi Guys, Pixel XL user here who downloads lots of imgur files, gifs and videos. I had set my "download" folder to be backed up. Where do I find these? [link] [comments] |
Looking for a phone comparable to the Note 4. Posted: 28 Apr 2018 08:39 PM PDT Hi all. My Note 4 is about to bite the dust, and I'm looking for a phone that is comparable to it. I'm not concerned about it being a new phone. I'm leaning towards the LG V20, but I also see that the Note 4 is relatively cheap on ebay. I also have an Otterbox to go with it as well as a new battery (along with 2 others which are in poor shape). A phablet would be something I'm interested in because I'm so used to having a larger phone. Right now I'm using my deceased dad's S4 which is great but I sure miss the larger screen. Plus I'd like to keep his phone is nearly the same condition it was in when he passed 3 1/2 years ago. I appreciate the feedback in advance, I'm heading to bed shortly and will respond back tomorrow. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Best Solution For a Bluetooth Mouse? Posted: 28 Apr 2018 02:07 PM PDT Hi, I am looking to buy a Bluetooth Mouse to use it for my Smartphone. Basically its the solution to Charge the phone, while having a Mouse "plugged" in. Sadly, I can not plug in a USB Stick, while charging Phone, for example, but you can not have everything, i guess. So do you guys know any good Solutions for my wishes? Like the best would be a Keyboard and a seperat mouse (they should be handy and tiny, to travel with them) Also, is it possible to connect Keyboard AND a mouse via Bluetooth (for example on S8)? Thanks for you help! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Apr 2018 06:30 AM PDT "We are having trouble loading Reddit" This happens frequently in the official Reddit app. I have to close the app from task switcher. Also, home screen sometimes appear blank, and I have to refresh it. It's a bit tiresome. What a good replacement for Reddit app? Thanks! [link] [comments] |

TextPlus Question, if you use it or have ever used it please help with this quick question Posted: 28 Apr 2018 07:43 PM PDT I downloaded textplus on android and denied access to my contacts. I sent someone a text message and a name appeared after it sent. Also note this person isn't even added in my contacts anyways so wouldn't matter, just figured I'd add the extra info to avoid any confusion.. Since I texted the number and their name popped up in the history afterwards, does this mean they are using a textplus number? Can anyone clear this confusion? Long story short a girl gave me her number and I texted it using textplus and name popped up... wanted to know if it was her real number or a textplus number.. Thanks in advance to anyone able to help [link] [comments] |

What's a good mid-range phone to buy rn? Posted: 28 Apr 2018 06:47 AM PDT The screen on my ZTE Zmax Pro broke last night and I've been looking for a good replacement. I'm on MetroPCS and they only have the LG Stylo 3 and ZTE Blade Zmax that have decent reviews. I was also looking at the Moto G5+ when someone told me about the Xiaomi Mi A1. Pretty much had my heart set on that phone but after doing some research, found out that it doesn't support 4G in the States. Sigh. Now I'm back to square one and looking for suggestions for a new phone. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Can I remap/customize button gestures? Posted: 28 Apr 2018 05:27 PM PDT I'm sort of new the the whole Android sort of things, and I am wondering if there would be a way to customize the Bixbe button or something to were I can put in a combination or something and it'll let me do a function. For example, I want to remap the Bixbe button to go to my messaging app I use, and if i double tap title take me to the phone app. Or if I triple tap the power title turn on the flashlight. Things like that. If anyone has any suggestions, thanks! [link] [comments] |
Dualshock 4, Android, and input lag/problems Posted: 28 Apr 2018 05:20 PM PDT Hi, everyone. I recently got a Xiaomi Mi A1 and a dualshock 4 and I have been trying to get them to connect and work but there is always something misbehaving. Android 8.0.0 Troubleshooting attempt #1 - I have paired the controller wirelessly via bluetooth and, at first, it seems to work, except for a very weird keymapping. But after about 30 seconds or so, it starts lagging and sometimes it doesn't even register input/key presses. Also, Retroarch completely ignores any remapping attempts, even though I can navigate the menus with the controller (bluetooth wireless), despite the lag and weird button mapping. Troubleshooting attempt #2 - My phone is not rooted so I tried an app called Bluetooth Auto Connect, which has been suggested on a bunch of topics I have found on the internet. It doesn't work. Troubleshooting attempt #3 - I, then, acquired an OTG USB-C Cable to try a wired connection. The gamepad connects and its light turns orange (charging?) but nothing seems to work. No matter which button I press, I get 0 input. Troubleshooting attempt #4 - Then I tried connecting the gamepad via the OTG cable AND bluetooth at the same time. Then we go back to "Troubleshooting attempt #1". Some people have suggested the Sixaxis app, but it's paid and for rooted phones only. Another observation: My xbox360 controller works just fine with the OTG Cable: 0 delay, perfectly mapped, and recognized properly. Does anybody have a light? I have tried several 'solutions' I found on the internet and none of them seems to work for me. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
Galaxy s8. Any way to turn off phone signal for a few hours and only have WiFi enabled? Posted: 28 Apr 2018 07:33 AM PDT Hope i explained that right. I want to use my phone but don't want to receive calls for a while [link] [comments] |
More space magically appears on my internal storage. Posted: 28 Apr 2018 06:33 AM PDT I had some files on my internal storage that I deleted. Afterwards, I realised that deleted files can be recovered, so I decided I wanted to really delete them. Since they were deleted already, I decided that filling up my internal storage with files to the brim would work as it would overwrite the deleted stuff. So I hooked up the phone to my PC and copied files to it until it was full. I then removed it and opened up the File Manager, but it showed 700 MB free. I figured that it was some kind of hidden space, so started taking lots of high res photos to fill up that space. I took pictures until the camera refused to take anymore due to space constraints. I checked the File Manager and it said only a few kb of space was left. Satisfied, i put the phone away. However, for some reason or so, when I opened the file manager 2 minutes later, it showed 330.6 MB of space had appeared out of nowhere. I have been trying to fill this space up but I can't. I take pictures, I get low space warnings, apps stop, etc. But after I put the phone away, 2 minutes later around 300 MB of space appears again. And it really is space: I can use the phone normally, take screenshots, take pictures, run apps without problems. What the hell is going on? I just want to erase my deleted-but-not-really files. How can I fill up the "empty" space with meaningless data? This is my phone: http://www.lavamobiles.com/smartphones/z50 [link] [comments] |

The two options under settings are not the same screen. Is there a tool or tutorial on how to find them? Thanks [link] [comments] |
