| Posted: 31 Mar 2018 07:53 PM PDT I've got an S8, and after upgrading to Software version R16NW.G950USQU2CRB9 from Verizon on March 22nd, I've noticed that whenever I get a call and my phone isn't on silent or on DND, the ringtone won't play. Furthermore, my default apps aren't being respected either and there are issues with the weather app widget as well. Is there a way to re-install the OS and keep my apps? Or to re-apply the update somehow? EDIT: Booting into recovery mode first takes me to the "Installing OS updates" screen, and then it ends with an android icon sideways saying "NO commands" [link] [comments]  |

Posted: 31 Mar 2018 06:22 PM PDT Hi, today I was working on getting some more root tweaks for my LG V20 H990DS when one of the tweaks started causing a boot loop on my phone. The device would get to the life's good screen but then not boot any further. I couldn't remember how to fix this so I reinstalled magisk and a kernel, but that caused there to be this kernel crash error. I tried reflashing the kdz with LGUP but the device was "unknown". | What's the deal with gaming on Android tablets? Posted: 31 Mar 2018 02:17 PM PDT My Shield K1, just over a year old, is dying. The charge port has gotten spotty and I can't consistently recharge. Looking at the 3DMark scores for mobile devices, it looks like the top choice is the Pixel C, which is no longer available. Second is the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3, minimum price: $450 with only 32GB internal storage. Third: Shield K1, no longer available. Fourth, the Xiaomi Mi Pad, no longer available... Well, you get the idea. All the top-performing tablets are discontinued except for the Samsung. What am I missing? Are there high-performing devices out there that haven't made the list? | Trouble recovering data from "adb backup --twrp" Posted: 31 Mar 2018 07:12 PM PDT Hey all, I have two backups I made using "adb backup --twrp" while my OnePlus one phone was in TWRP recovery 3.2.1-0 running LineageOS with a recent build (don't know exactly which one, but it was from Feb/March 2018). Each of the backups are about 6.0GB so they appear to be complete backups. I am trying to recover one app and its data (Signal/Textsecure) but the rest would be nice too. The backup files have .ab extensions. I am fairly android savvy and have been working on this for days, your help is VERY MUCH APPRECIATED! I have access to Windows and Linux. | Posted: 31 Mar 2018 09:50 PM PDT Hello everyone, My girlfriend has a pixel one since the latest Oreo update her phone would crash when a phone call was received or sent out. Google said the motherboard was the issue and they had seen it quite a bit. I was surprised when they would say they would overnight a motherboard and replace it for free. We obviously took the offer up. After the replacement no issues were present until we reset the phone to the latest update. The phone then lost all function and software of the fingerprint scanner, and would not charge unless the device was off. We once again complained to Google and the local shop. They once again shipped in a new motherboard and replaced it for free. And we finally did the latest update tonight and wouldn't you know all the same issues. We have no idea what to do or what actions to take. I want to demand a new pixel 2 from Google but feel that is a steep asking price even thought they have sent two motherboards on overnight shipping to us. | Galaxy S9 doesnt take pictures Posted: 31 Mar 2018 05:52 PM PDT Having a problem with my Galaxy S9, when it takes a picture it changes it to just a gray screen with an exclamation point. The camera works but once you snap a picture it just changes whatever picture you took to the gray screen. It does work just fine when I change the save destination to storage device vs SD. When I try to edit a long reddit post for example, the cursor appears at the very end and I cannot view the beginning text in order to edit it. On a PC I would simply arrow up. | Settings changing after reboot Posted: 31 Mar 2018 08:36 PM PDT I have a LG G4 bootloader is unlocked but am currently running a debloated un-rooted stock android 6.0 Recently some settings will revert back to default when I reboot my phone. It took me forever to figure out what was doing it. Specifically: FB Messenger chat heads requires permission to draw over apps every reboot. I block notifications from certain apps (Walgreens, AliExpress, etc) they all go back to allowing notifications. Also i went into battery optimizations and turned it OFF for Pokémon go. This keeps the app from shutting down when minimized. Every time I reboot it clears the check box. Any ideas? This is drivinge batty. [link] [comments]  |

Every night I yell Google assistant when to wake me up and it sets an alarm and it is always the same song. At the time I set up that song with the help of zedge where they have a "apply as alarm" option. | How to completely disable nav bar? Posted: 31 Mar 2018 04:35 PM PDT I want to completely disable my nav bar because I want to free up some room on my screen but I can't figure out how to do it. I'm not talking about immersive mode because the nave bar comes back when you swipe anywhere near the bottom of the screen. It's quite frustrating cause I want to control my phone with swipe gestures. I've tried adding 'qemu.hw.mainkeys=1" to my build.prop file but it didn't do anything. [link] [comments]  |
| Having problems with Android auto Posted: 31 Mar 2018 04:31 PM PDT Hi all, I wonder if someone can give me some assistance with Android auto but this week has suddenly seemed to have issues with regards to what apps I can use whilst it's in use. All of a sudden whenever I try to listen to Spotify or to podcasts or to TuneIn Radio the app doesn't seem to recognise that I have these other apps installed and I can only use Google music play which quite frankly I'd rather not. Does anyone have any idea if I've done something wrong with the settings or if that's an update and things have just gone pear-shaped or anything of that nature I have made sure that all of the apps have permissions allowed that's about the height of my abilities when it comes to Android as I'm still a bit of a newbie.
