Redditors, can we use our collective effort to take down copycat games?

    Posted: 26 Dec 2017 05:51 PM PST

I'm sure most of you are aware of those copycat games that copy the core mechanics and even art style of popular (paid) games, then insert ads, IAPs etc to profit. It is stealing money from the ones who deserve.

Some of the examples I can think of are Lapse: A Forgotten Future (Beta) , which imitate the very popular choice making game Reigns; and 98, which copies the digital implementation of a card game called The Game.

You can go to game's page in Google Play (either on computer or mobile), scroll down and hit "Flag as inappropriate", then choose "Copycat or impersonation".

I remember that some copycat games/apps were taken down this way. I believe with enough number of people reporting to Google, they would take appropriate actions.

Please also suggest copycat games in the comments.

Just got Crashlands on the Pixel, but touchscreen not registering

    Posted: 26 Dec 2017 02:37 PM PST

The game will only register one in every three taps or so. This is happening in the menu and during gameplay. Anybody know why?

Controller analog sticks not working properly in ePSXe. Anyone had this issue?

    Posted: 26 Dec 2017 04:48 AM PST

Not sure how best to explain this but, when testing the axis in settings the sticks work as intended and show different values for different positions, but in-game (Gran Turismo 1 & 2) it's like they only have an on and off position and it's like using the dpad to try and turn.

The controller is a cheapo T3 and I've tried switching between analog and digital through the options whilst in-game.

Has anyone else had this problem with games from the play store or is it maybe an emulator issue?

Dawn Break (Early Access) is something to look out for

    Posted: 26 Dec 2017 03:33 AM PST

It's out on Android atm. If you have played Vindictus by Nexon, it's basically that but on android. Obviously graphically and gameplay wise isn't on par with Vindictus but if it was ported to mobile, this is what I imagine it would play like.

Help me choosing among these games

    Posted: 26 Dec 2017 02:12 AM PST

I have some bucks to spend on games (3€, more or less). I was eyeing these games:

Old man's journey (0.59€) - I like the style, reviews intrigue me but I fear the game is too short. I'd like to have something to play for a while.

Reigns (0.99€) - I like the replayability of this game. I don't like the "luck" part involved in it. Also "Her Majesty" has been recently released so I fear this game gets put aside by dev.

Samorost 3 (0.99€) - as old man's journey I like the style and reviews. Fear I'll be left with nothing to play/replay after finishing it.

Death Road 2 Canada (0.99€) - Love the replayability. The idea is appealing, but I've read the controls are the real problem for this game.

Sproggywood (0.99€) - Don't know much about this. Liked the turn based thing and graphic.

Iron Marines (2.09€) - IAP scare me off. Also don't know much about replayability. And the price is higher than the other games. Is it worth it more than 2 of those other games?

Lumino city (0.99€) - same as Samorost 3 and Old Man's Journey.

would you like a skill based Legend of Zelda style MMORPG?

    Posted: 26 Dec 2017 06:51 AM PST

something like dragon quest when it comes to graphics, really low spec, fixed camera (like the first zeldas/pkmn games) but with real time combat, hitbox/hurtbox mechanics, completely different roles like in the Monster Hunter games, low and dark fantasy setting, cross platform on mobile, pc and consoles. why they don't do this game? I think we have the tech by now...

Pixel 2 XL and games that are cropped or stretched

    Posted: 26 Dec 2017 12:56 AM PST

So there's this thing that's annoying, some games are cropped to fill the screen and others are stretched. Is there any fix for this? Here are some examples:
    Lumino City
    Bricks Breaker
