Switched from Samsung Galaxy Buds to Buds Pro. Ears started getting irritated to the point of bleeding.

    Posted: 05 May 2022 11:36 AM PDT

The first month nothing seemed to happen and I was fine, hence why I couldn't narrow down what was causing the issue.

My doctor was trying to help me diagnose what was wrong. We thought it was a ongoing ear infection.

But I have narrowed this issue down to the Galaxy Bud Pro. I have been disinfecting them with alcohol wipes and after an hour of use, there will be wet fluid on the rubber ear pieces.

Initially I don't notice any in pain, but the skin becomes more and more inflamed throughout the day and then will start bleeding.

What the hell is going on here? I have a picture but it's obviously gross to post here.

How do you customize your phone?

Favorite apps? Album links? Icons or fonts? Ideas for homescreen? My phone is just the basic factory setup with the Google bar and weather, I want more.

S pen air action app compatibility

    Posted: 05 May 2022 02:51 PM PDT

Why cant I use air actions with most apps? I feel like I should be able to create air actions for apps that don't have them. For example perform an action on the screen and then tie that action to the air actions.

    Screw Samsung

    Posted: 04 May 2022 01:13 PM PDT

    So heres my horror story:

April 15, I contact samsung to send in my mint condition z fold 3 as it has cellular connectivity issues. I package the phone very well, document the packing, reset the phone, take pictures of the entire device including with the screen on to show no damage. Mail the phone. No problem.

Samsung gets the phone, I get a ticket completion notice that the phone has been repaired, during the repair they found my battery and screen were messed up and replaced them. I called samsung and they said if the tech finds problems they will correct them, my screen and battery were fine so im guessing the tech destroyed my stuff but they fixed it and the phone looked flawless so no worries.

A few days go by and the phone starts having massive connectivity problems again. I call samsung back and they say you have to send it in for repair again as we cannot do anything else for you, they kept pushing me to make an insurance claim with samsung care plus which is a joke as they send refurb phones as well as have a deductible. At this point I am requesting a new phone or an "upgrade" at minimal cost to me. They tell me the phone must be sent in for repair twice to be considered for any replacement options or anything like that. I agree to send it in even though I really dont want to and I dont trust samsung at all anymore.

I sent the phone in again, they receive it, I packed it just like the first time. I check my email "You have damage that is out of warranty coverage, your screen is damaged you need to pay $580" I called them and freaked out. They offered me 25% off the 580 and then when I had been on the phone for a few hours I got a supervisor that is finally able to "waive the fee as a one time courtesy". I then call in a couple hours later to confirm the cost has been waived as I had gotten no proof or indication of the repair cost being waived and samsung is acting like lying scammers so who knows. The repair rep informs the cost has been accurately waived and I ask her what do I do when the phone comes back to me and it still has signal issues, as I am sure it will, she says dont worry you have to send it in for repair THREE times before it is considered for a replacement or anything.

Just wanted to get this information out there for anyone who has a premium device with samsung or care plus. FUCK SAMSUNG they have lost my future business and I have had their devices since flip and bar phones back in the day, I was even just shopping for a laptop and they were on the list, they are off the list now and the reviews on their laptops say they suck which seems about in line with their appliances. Samsung is dead to me I sure hope no one else has to deal with their bullshit. I hate to say it but Tmobile would have taken better care of me and I am not a fan of carrier phones.

    Thanks for listening. Peace.

55" QLED TV from 2018 | one connect box died | replacement has color issues

    Posted: 05 May 2022 01:38 PM PDT

    Hello
i have a qe55q7camtxzg TV and the one connect box died at some day without any notice.
I got a replacement of ebay (SOC1000M for the same TV model (box and TV model match) because samsung wouldnt sell me one....
Long story short, the TV works again, but has very awful pixelated blacks so watching anything dark is NOT possible.

Is there anything I have to set up in the service menu so that this TV works with this BOX?

    Thanks in advance

PS: ive already tried everything in the normal settings without any fix. (image settings etc)

What do you think is the cheapest way to get a phone compatible with Smart Tag?

    Posted: 05 May 2022 01:29 PM PDT

    Hello!

I've been a long time Samsung Galaxy owner but I recently switched to a different phone for rooting reasons (Samsung makes it harder and it's fine with me, but it made me switch).

Recently I figured I would like to put a Samsung Smart Tag on my bike. The reviews of this thing are stellar! But knowing that only Samsung phones/tablets? can be used to find it (which is fair in my opinion, this is THEIR innovation), I guess my best option would be to get a second hand phone/tablet compatible with the tags and call it a day.

I would like to hear your recommendations as to what phone I may have success on acquiring from Facebook Marketplace for under 100$ (I don't even mind cracks on screen or dents as this phone may NEVER be used other than to track my stolen bike IF it ever gets stolen).

I kind of prefer this option than to pay a monthly plan to put a GPS on my bike. The advantage of the tag is you pay upfront and you don't pay anything else.

Does it sound like an ok plan? Do you have a better suggestion?

    Thank you for your time!

    Digital Secure App Alternate?

    Posted: 05 May 2022 12:44 PM PDT

    Hey everyone,

An S22 Ultra user here. Purchased the phone through Verizon which comes with the Digital Secure App. Unfortunately I don't have access to the OEM Samsung (or Google) built in malware security scanner.

Are there some legitimate apps that can replace Digital Secure?

An item was missing from my order, it's been 6 weeks and they're still investigating

    Posted: 05 May 2022 12:41 PM PDT

I understand that business need to investigate when a customer reports not receiving an item, but this is just get getting ridiculous. I was told it could take up to 10 days. I keep calling and keep being told it's been escalated. I'm over it and thinking of just opening a claim with PayPal, thankfully I used paid PayPal.

If you've had a similar issue, is it just pointless for me to keep wating for them and should I just open a claim with PayPal?

Is there a 'cheap' way to get a usable Samsung Dex setup?

    Posted: 05 May 2022 11:30 AM PDT

Was playing around with Dex on a friends phone on a monitor with a KB/M I think it has real potential to replace my currently unused PC. I occasionally run into tasks that are a bit of a pain to use my phone/tablet (Motorola/Ipad Mini) that would benefit from a big screen and a full sized KB/M.

The main issue is I don't want to spend multiple hundred or even $100 on what will end up being an experiment that could fail with "oh this actually sucks" for whatever reason down the line.

I'm also interested in opinions on Dex in general as a desktop environment for web browsing, light Android gaming, and multi-tasking.

Does the S22 Ultra’s camera really cause yellowing in some pictures and have a harder time with close-ups than the iPhone 13 Pro?

    Posted: 05 May 2022 07:59 AM PDT

I'm looking to upgrade to a new phone after having had one for five years, and, after a lot of research, I've basically narrowed it down to the two titans in the smartphone industry: the Galaxy S22 Ultra and the iPhone 13 Pro Max. One thing that is currently playing a huge role in me picking one phone over the other is the camera. Photography has recently become a very passionate hobby of mine, so I've read articles and watched YouTube videos on the camera comparisons. For the most part, I feel like this is the consensus:

    • S22 Ultra has a better camera when it comes to Night mode photography and zoomed-in shots
    • The iPhone 13 Pro Max has a better camera when it comes to clarity on close ups and provides more natural colors to photos in general

One thing the S22 Ultra has, though, I've noticed, is yellowing on some photos and even over saturation. I'm wondering if this is just due to the reviewers using the auto mode for photography.

If I were to get into the nitty-gritty of doing manual setups for photos (e.g. playing around with the white balance, rather than just tapping on the screen until the colors seem okay), would I be able to get as much color clarity as that of the iPhone 13 Pro Max?

    Samsung won't update my address

    Posted: 05 May 2022 05:54 AM PDT

I'm going nuts here. I ordered my S22 two months ago, when my pixel 5 broke. Took about 5 weeks before it actually shipped. Was expecting delivery on the 22nd of April, but then it got marked as 'delayed' by my local parcel carrier. Called them up, turns out the address on the order was invalid.

Is my bad, I moved recently. I'm pretty sure the auto-fill on my chrome browser screwed me up, because it's mostly my new address, but the post code and suburb is my old address (nearly did this once before. You fill in your address details, then later on enter your mobile number. Chrome auto suggests my mobile number, but will then replace some of the address details I've already entered with whatever is stored in chrome with that number)

Annoying, but it is my bad.

They said the phone is just sitting at a local warehouse, should ship to me the day after my address is fixed, and that they'd been emailing samsung asking them for the correct address for over a week at this stage - with zero response.

They also said only the seller could update my address - so I contacted samsung. Gave them the correct suburb and postcode and they were like "yep, sure should go through soon". It's now been over a week since that call and they still haven't updated my address. I called them a few days ago, and they said that updating the address may take "2-12 business days" which just seems insane to me.

I called my postal service to see if there was anything else I could do, no luck - but they did say they will have to return to sender very soon, if they don't hear anything from the seller, since it's been sitting there for over two weeks now.

This turned into a much longer rant than intended, but am frustrated and wondering if anyone else has ran into this issue. I completely acknowledge that the error on the address was mine, but damn - shouldn't be this hard to fix.

SAMSUNG Series 5+ AutoDose washing machine

    Posted: 05 May 2022 02:00 AM PDT

I saw a few videos about this washing machine and they all talk about the auto dose feature for the detergent and softener and that you cannot use powder for that. But, can I still put a cup of powder manually into the drum?

Hey, been thinking about what earbuds to get maybe, as I have earphones but as I listen to music at night, it's a bit of a choking hazard with the cable lmao. Obviously a samsung fan so my first thought is their earbuds. Any thoughts on them? Are they worth the price? Ever had any troubles with earbuds in general?

    Posted: 04 May 2022 03:12 PM PDT

I decided to go with the a52 5g over the a53 because of the headphone jack.

I just checked and it's not there anymore :(

I could get used on Amazon, but would want to have a new battery.

S20 upgrade to S22 Ultra worth it?

    Posted: 03 May 2022 08:47 PM PDT

I need a new phone as I'm looking to add a second line for business purposes to my prepaid Verizon account. What I don't want is two phones and unfortunately my S20 doesn't do dual sim so I'm looking at the S22 Ultra to carry both lines.

I'm also going to be doing a lot of data input for this business so the screen size does need to be larger and clear. I'm just getting older too and my S20s screen is too small. I have the cheddar for the ultra and with trade in the 256gb unlocked is $625.

Will S22 ultra do what I want with the dual sim situation and will the phone be a solid work phone for me? Any reliability issues?

    Best S22 Ultra Screen Protector?

    Posted: 04 May 2022 01:30 PM PDT

What is the best S22 Ultra Screen Protector, I purchased a film one, that worked well for a few days, but started lifting on the sides which in turn pulled debris/dust inside the actual film, adding air bubbles aswell, and literally only had the phone mostly in my pocket or on my desk.

I'm very wary of screen protectors for edged phones, as I see a lot of reviews complaining that they begin to lift if they do not have a strong adhesive.

I only want a screen protector to prevent pocket scratches, as that's where my phone sits most of the time.
