Computer Black Screen on boot, Monitor gets No Input and USB devices flashing on/off Posted: 07 Mar 2022 05:35 PM PST Hi there, been having problems figuring out an issue with my Windows 10 pc. I have an Alienware Area-51 Threadripper R7 that has been having difficulties lately. While trying to diagnose a problem I disabled secure boot (a stupid idea I now realize) and it no longer will even show the bios menu, as the monitor gets no input from the PC. The fans still run with no issue, but strangely enough they keyboard's light to show NUMLOCK flashes on and off, and when plugging in other flash drives that light up when connected they also blink on and off. I've tried the following to attempt to fix it, each without helping at all: - Put CMOS jumper on reboot for a few minutes and then back to normal - Reseated the CMOS battery - Reseated both sticks of RAM, also tried removing one stick of RAM while leaving the other in - No button combination on the keyboard helps solve the issue - Plugged in USB drive with Windows Recovery ISO on it to attempt to boot from that, still no display PC Specs are as follows: Processor: AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2920X (12-Core/24-Thread, 38 MB cache, up to 4.3 GHz Boost Frequency) Graphics Cards: - NVIDIA GTX 1060 - NVIDIA Quadro P1000 - 16 GB RAM (2 8 GB sticks) - 2 TB SATA 7200RPM HDD - Windows 10 The issue I was having before was that the computer was continually restarting at the boot screen, which could be why the usb devices are flashing. Any help would be appreciated, thanks! [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 Mar 2022 09:16 PM PST Is it safe to disable high precision event timer to improve game fps? And if so then does disable make system unstable? or should just leave on? [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 Mar 2022 01:56 PM PST I'm disappointed in my new Alienware Aurora Ryzen Edition Gaming PC. I've had this for a few months now and its super slow. During bootup, it said "Please Wait for System Updates" and it was stuck there for 30 mins with no progress bar so I searched online for a solution and I found a solution. It said I need to update my BIOS. So I put the new version on a flash drive and executed the flash update from the pre-boot F12 menu. Now its been 1 hour, It has no progress bar and its stuck on the flash update menu with a dimmed screen. My pc's fan is making noise too. What should I do to fix this issue? [link] [comments] |
