We've tried all number combinations we think she would have used. Now the timer between each try is like 3 minuets. We only want it open to get the photos off the phone for my father. Not only do i constantly have problems when making calls like on whatsapp or fb, but sometimes the internet just won't work (both wifi and data) and i have to turn the phone on and off to get it back. I know its the phone and not the wifi bc its data too and all my other devices work perfectly when the phone goes out. And even though on the phone i disconnect on whatsapp every 5 mins i never have issues with like streaming or zoom calls or anything on my tablet or laptop. Has this happened to anyone else? I just moved a photos to an sd card to then move them onto my mac instead of using android file transfer which was not working due to the volume (it was just freezing). When I opened them they are all dated today! I can't figure out how to restore the original creation date of the photos. | Posted: 24 Mar 2022 12:24 AM PDT Hello everyone. I want to buy new phone. I'm using a Honor View 20 at the moment and I'm really happy with it. It works absolutely fine, but when some calls me I can't hear shit. I need to use the speaker and even those are not that loud. That's the only issue I have. So was thinking about buying a new phone and thought about buying a Samsung. The fact that you can trade in your old phone and the older Samsung have a quite high trade in price is also nice. To add this. I don't really need a high end best performance smartphone, but it's nice to have it. Less works absolutely fine for me so I discovered the S20 FE 5G which really fits my needs and is quite cheap, which is awesome. But Samsung provides up to 3years? of Android Updates and it got released last year means 2 years of updates for me. So do I have to buy a new phone again in 2 or 3 years? On the other hand: I really like the S22+. I like the visual design way more and obviously it got a better performance overall. But it's quite expensive. I've never payed more than 700 for a phone. It it worth it? Samsung says they will support it with 4 years of updates. Means I might have to buy a new one in 4 or 5years? Maybe 6 years, but I worried that something like the battery will die earlier. Does anyone have any experience? How important are those Android updates? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 23 Mar 2022 10:28 PM PDT I ask this as I accidentally installed a launcher thinking it was safe and I took it off when it spammed news notifications and I traced it to this system app after reading the notification. I have a vivo y76 5g phone and everytime I open an app, for example a game like coc and cod, the status bar like the WiFi, battery percent, sim, etc and except for the time, they all disappear when I am in homescreen. I can only it when I swipe down to look at the notifications. I want it to always be dislayed, but I don't know what is causing it this way. When I change my display size, it goes back to normal. But when I try to open a game and exit out, it goes back to its problem. Only the tim3 is visible. It would be appreciated if you guys can help me. I also provided a screenshot of my problem. It doesn't use the car's mic or speakers for the call volume. Another thing is that when I press the call button, the regular Phone app doesn't open the screen with the mute, numpad, speaker, etc. buttons. It just sits on my home screen and treats the screen as though it's not making a phone call--nothing in the notification bar or anything, but the sound and mic from the phone are being used. | Zenfone 7 Not Taking Any Calls Posted: 23 Mar 2022 07:03 PM PDT I've had my Zenfone for a hanndful of months now, and everything was working great until I came back out of state from vacation. For all accounts, everything else is still working from text messages to mobile data, but whenever I try to call, my phone has up as soon as I dial the number, and anyone who tries to call me goes straight to voicemail without any ringing. I tried swapping the sim card to a phone that wasn't mind, and everything seems to be working perfectly, so I contacted customer support (my provider is Straight Talk) and they said my phone was not compatible with VoLTE, and I would have to buy a new one. My biggest qualms is that not only was my phone working after they said they updated their towers (They said around the 22nd of last month, but the last time I made a phone call was around the 3rd of this month), that after doing some research myself, it does seem to be fully compatible with Volte, and most importantly, while it was been a while I spent so much money on the phone, and I really don't want to part ways with it so soon if it can be avoided. | Android Go not letting me install certain app Posted: 23 Mar 2022 05:24 PM PDT I'm trying to install the Google search app (the regular google search app - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox&hl=en_US&gl=US ) on a tablet running Android Go v10. The tablet came with the "Go version" of Google Search but I need the original full-fat Android version of Google Search for Android Auto. I disabled Google Search Go (tablet won't allow uninstall) and tried installing Google Search (original), I tried installing via Play Store, via Android Auto update, and manually by downloading the apk from apk mirror. But no matter which method I try, the app won't install. I thought that Android Go was supposed to be able to run all Android apps - even the normal non-Go versions, albeit at slower speeds..? Any advice? Error messages haven't been helpful either, mainly are along the lines of "Install of a required app failed" or "Something went wrong. The app was not installed." Edit: I did some digging. As a fourth method, I tried installing the apk from my computer using ADB (android debug bridge), this time it showed the source of the error: adb: failed to install com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox_13.11.9.23.arm-301190263_minAPI23(armeabi-v7a)(nodpi)_apkmirror.com.apk: Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_DUPLICATE_PERMISSION: Package com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox attempting to redeclare permission com.google.android.apps.now.OPT_IN_WIZARD already owned by com.google.android.apps.assistant] So it seems that Android Assistant Go has permissions that are already present. Posted: 23 Mar 2022 04:34 PM PDT Don't know if this update I just downloaded at 4GB is an android or OnePlus update but guessing it's android 12 because everything looks freshly crisp. However a new app called "Games" (that I never asked for) forcibly took some apps away from "All apps" (it really isn't) and put them within this games app. Because it put my bank app there without asking, I manually removed it believing it would return to "all" apps, it didn't. Now I can not fint my bank app anywhere except manually searching for it i play store and click open. Any help would be appreciated. [link] [comments] |

A VPN worked for a few days but then stopped working (it seems to work for viewing content but not for posting), and we are using the phone without a sim. I wonder if it is still using the GPS position without a sim. Wondering if anyone knows of a reliable way or anything else we can try to make it think we are in the US region when posting? Thanks!
