How do I make my windows cursor feel like Ipad cursor?

    Posted: 30 Mar 2022 01:10 AM PDT

The ipad cursor changes its shape, sticks to things that are clickable and has a general hard to descripe - very nice feeling. Does anyone know how to make that happen on a Windows 10 laptop?
Wired has described that feeliing quite nice: https://www.wired.com/story/ipad-trackpad-cursor/

Cool things I found in an XP x64 Install disk

This is just one of the images i found. I believe this is something left over from the Beta builds of Whistler. From my standpoint it looks like a almost RTM build of XP. You can see from the old logos in the windows.

I don't get what was wrong with Windows 10 (read desc)

    Posted: 29 Mar 2022 04:00 PM PDT

I already mentioned this in one of my older posts, but I decided to bring up this specific topic again. I'm using past tense because I upgraded to 11 and can't go back (You're welcome, whoever was asking why I was using past tense). Anyways, onto the question.

Why do people hate Windows 10?

It was really user-friendly for me and extremely easy to use. I mean, I know all the obvious things, like the automatic updates, bloatware, data collection and etc. However, I've never been troubled with updates at all, the OS let me do it at my own will. Never had problems with data collecting either, it felt very private. I found absolutely no bugs, problems, or any of that stuff with this amazing OS. Honestly, it's on par with Windows 7. Who knows? Maybe I just have a good computer or I am lucky Windows 10 was nice to me.

    Bluetooth UI is a mess

    Posted: 29 Mar 2022 01:31 AM PDT

MS if you read this, please think about re-styling the Bluetooth User interface on Windows.

In this day and age I am constantly flicking between my bluetooth headphones and various speakers. It is really cumbersome to have to go to the Bluetooth icon on the toolbar and then press "Show Bluetooth Devices" and then wait for the page to load and to settle (all the elements move around until it loads), then I have to find my item (the list is ridiculously over-spaced out vertically - so I usually have to scroll to a lower screen to find my item), THEN I can't just click on the rectangle of that item, I have to only click on the 3 dots, and press CONNECT.

Come on MS, it's 2022. Most of the items on the Bluetooth Devices list I NEVER interact with. Why can't I just "star" my most used items and have them appear as an ON/OFF icon in the task bar. That's it. KEEP. IT. SIMPLE. STUPID.

Hidden taskbar feature bugging when connecting laptop to external monitor

Hidden taskbar feature bugging when connecting laptop to external monitor

    Alert that pop's up

    Running windows 11 version 21H2.

As I said in the title, sometimes when I plug my laptop to an external monitor or even when I wake the laptop from sleep, and it is already connected to the external monitor, this alert pops up and when I click OK it disables the hidden taskbar feature. Once I go to settings to enable the feature, it works again with no problems! The strange thing is that it only happens sometimes... When it is working the taskbar is hidden in both monitors only to appear as I move my mouse to the bottom of the screen as I expect it to. Can anyone explain to me why this happens?

Windows 10 Hello Pin saying "incorrect pin" on startup, forcing me to type a code before I can enter my pin.

    Posted: 28 Mar 2022 04:15 PM PDT

This is getting so frustrating. Every single time I start up windows 10 I get this annoying message saying "You've entered your pin too many times incorrectly, please type A1B2C3 to verify". Thing is, I never typed it incorrectly in the first place.

If I mess up and make a mistake with my password, it forces me to restart. Every. Single. Time. On startup. This happens.

I go to sign-in options, and it says Hello Pin is unavailable.

So how do I remove or change this broken-ass feature? Seems windows can't even implement a password system in correctly, and I can't seem to remove it at all. I don't have time to delve into the rabbit hole of windows crap, either. At this point I'd rather just remove the password altogether, if it can't be changed.

Did you know: the file picker can open URLs directly.

    Posted: 28 Mar 2022 05:29 PM PDT

For example, if you enter a URL into the file opening dialogue for Notepad, it loads the page source code. Microsoft Word and Excel display some of the page, but the layout is strange.

Last tested in Windows 10. I can't guarantee it still works with Windows 11.

AirPods connected while other Bluetooth device is connected creates weird audio issues

    Posted: 28 Mar 2022 04:01 PM PDT

I've been playing Elden Ring via Steam and have opted use my Switch Pro Controller connected via Bluetooth. I also use AirPods pretty much all the time on my PC. I've had issues with AirPods on Windows before but for the most part it is okay. But, whenever my Pro Controller and AirPods are connected at the same time, the audio is fairly choppy. Not just for Elden Ring, but for my whole computer. It's so bad to the point where I would rather just deal with a wired headset. Also, these are brand new AirPods (Gen 2).

I have ruled out the possibility of the controller causing issues, because the audio is fine from my monitor speakers when just the controller is connected. Any thoughts? Is this just the AirPods on Windows 10 lifestyle?
