| Do Not Disturb - Solution Needed Posted: 21 Feb 2022 08:47 PM PST Hi, Wondering if anyone can help me find a solution. I recently got a Vivo Y33s running 11.1 Funtouch. I am wanting to use alarm app 'Sleep as Android' and on my old phone, it worked when my old phone was on Silent mode the whole time. With Android 11, the app doesn't work on Silent mode. So I'm thinking, ok there's Do Not Disturb mode where I can add exceptions. So, I turn on Do Not Disturb mode, add Sleep as Android as exception and it worked...but it stops calls. I still want to receive calls so I add an exception for all calls but the phone rings. I don't want my phone to ring but still want to receive calls (without ringing) so only option is to turn on Silent mode but this disables the Sleep as Android app. There where I'm stuck.. How do I have my phone on silent the whole time, calls still come through (without ringing) and also my Sleep as Android app work? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 21 Feb 2022 07:48 PM PST On my phone, when mobile data is being used, a little icon written "4G" or "5G" appears on the top, which is barely noticeable. Sometimes that leads me to wasting large amounts of data by accident. Is it possible to make this warning somehow more conspicuous (like larger or in a different color) so that it is very obvious that mobile data is turned on? [link] [comments] |

I want to try using my old phone secretly as a security camera at home while I'm gone for the day and my partner is home. Want to record video and sound. I plan to just hide it somewhere and leave it recording with airplane mode on so no sounds are made. I'm mainly worried about it stopping recording after a while by itself. Would this happen on a Samsung galaxy s9? Any other recommendations and advice would be appreciated [link] [comments] |

Posted: 21 Feb 2022 06:36 PM PST When a notification appears from messenger, there are often buttons in the notification to choose pre-determined responses to the message. Particularly if the message was a question, there'll be options such as "Yes", "Yeah", etc. I accidentally press these in trying to open the notification more often than I actually use them. Can I disable them? And how? I seem to remember disabling the same feature for text messages, but haven't seen anyway to do this for messenger. [link] [comments] |

Works fine, except typing is hard, because sometimes when I type two letters in quick succession it doesn't register the second one. This is weird because I can press two or more letters at the same time and it works, I'm not sure what this is. It happens on all Keyboards I've tried. I'm hoping this isn't a hardware issue. I'm getting this weird mangled html header on my search results in google, but they only happen when I search via the talk to text option. If I type in the text, it displays fine. The assistant reads back the result fine like it normally does, it's just these blocks of garbled html at the top. Anyone know what's causing these or how I can fix them? [link] [comments] |

| How do I disable the phone from displaying over other applications? Posted: 21 Feb 2022 05:09 PM PST When I am in a call, the phone app displays a "head" over whatever else I am doing. There is a notification that I can tap on to theoretically turn off the permission. But it seems to be a placebo, and always turns itself on again by the next call. How do I prevent it from turning back on? Googling so far has been frustrating, because queries containing terms like "phone" and "display" mainly turn up pages about the device's screen. (Google Pixel 3) Posted: 21 Feb 2022 04:45 PM PST The charging port on my Pixel is really faulty, and can take me up to five minutes (sometimes more!) to find the right angle to charge the device - and even then the slightest touch will stop it charging. I've had my phone for a while so I'm saving to get another. But, does anyone have a fix for this in the meantime? I've tried several different chargers so it's definitely the phone itself. | Issue with youtube premium background play Posted: 21 Feb 2022 03:53 PM PST Hello, I have been having a problem with youtube premium for a few months now. I'm using a Samsung galaxy note 10+. This has been consistent on the previous OS update and the current one. I also have youtube fully updated and I've tried reinstalling the app to no success. When playing videos in the background I cannot access the media controls on the lock screen - so I cannot play or pause videos using headphones or via the lock screen. Nothing even shows up to indicate a youtube video is playing. Occasionally it will work and will show up on the lock screen, but very infrequently. Often it doesn't even show up on my notification panel when my phone is unlocked. Other media apps work in the background and through the notification panel, including youtube music. I have lock screen media controls for youtube set to on. Any suggestions for this issue? Thanks in advance. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 21 Feb 2022 03:17 PM PST Hello, Android Experts, I have a Lenovo M7 tablet running Android 11 Go, and I'm wondering if there's a way to disable Wifi when it's in sleep (ie display is off). I'm using it mostly as a media control device for my MusicCast system, and some occasional light web browsing and Reddit - no need for push notifications or an always-on connection I'm finding that it's typically flat after two days, even with only 10-15m of screen on time. It generally means it's easier to put a CD on in order to listen to some music than it is to find the tablet, wait for it to charge and boot and fire up the MusicCast app. I've searched the settings throughly but looks like settings related to Wifi sleep have been removed? | Samsung Galaxy Note4 Won't Turn on Posted: 21 Feb 2022 02:47 PM PST So I'm in the process of trying to repair all of my old phones for fun. I've got a Note4 sitting here and it seems like it won't hold any charge. So I put a brand new battery in it thinking that would fix it but no. From what it looks like, it just won't hold any charge. As soon as I plug it in, the empty battery with the lightning bolt on it flashes every 2 seconds. If I hold the power button, the screen saying "Samsung Galaxy Note4" flashes too. So far, I've replaced the battery, confirmed the charger works, and have checked the port. Any ideas? [link] [comments] |

For me, one of the best features on the iPhone was the ability to remotely initialize hotspot through a PC, without ever taking my phone out of my pocket. Is android capable of doing this? if so is this a common feature or its usually achieved through a third party software? On which Android OS version was this feature introduced so I can buy an old handset that has support for this OS version.
