    PC Boot Problem

    Posted: 26 Feb 2022 11:30 PM PST

I turn my PC on, it has the manufacturer logo, then goes black before windows opens. It stays black for a couple of minutes, then restarts, and boots normally. I have re-installed Windows twice. If I switch off immediately after it goes black, when turned back it also boots normally. Any ideas?

That is all my specs, I get high FPS in all games just fine, but get this small fps stutter every 30 seconds. I cannot figure out for the life of me what it is. I checked temps, I reinstalled Windows 3 times, using W11 now. I've messed with all Windows settings to eliminate these stutters, and it doesn't seem like im bottle necking anything... Been dealing with this issue for 3 years with little to no fix. Im so close to going back to console.

    Should I disable hyperthreading?

    Posted: 26 Feb 2022 10:25 PM PST

Lots of posts suggest I should disable hyperthreading in my BIOs to see if my very small micro stutter stops in my games... Whats the risk in doing this? I have Windows 11.

PC slowed down after installing more ram

    Posted: 26 Feb 2022 03:43 PM PST

Hello. My friend had 2x2gb of ddr3 ram inside her PC. After installing another 2x2gb or ram so total of 4x2gb, which are same model from same manufacturer, have the same frequency and latency, her PC slowed down a lot. Does anyone have an explanation why is that or how could I fix it?

I would be grateful for any help. Thanks!

No longer able to see option "Show only on display 1 or 2" with a 3 monitor setup

    Posted: 26 Feb 2022 12:51 PM PST

Prior to 2 days ago, I was using an LG CX 55" plus an LG Ultragear monitor setup. The Ultragear is for gaming at my desk, while the OLED is strictly for gaming in bed. With that initial setup, I was able to disable the Ultragear when I wanted to game strictly on the OLED by selecting "Show only on 2" (where at the time, #2 was the OLED and #1 was the Ultragear).

A couple of days ago, I got a second 1080p LG monitor that I'm using in portrait mode for OBS, Twitch, etc etc. With the three screen setup (where #3 is the OLED, #1 is the Ultragear and #2 is the portrait mode monitor), I somehow lost the ability to "Show only on 1 or 2." Under Multiple Displays in Display settings, all I'm offered is: "Duplicate Desktop on 1 and 2," "Duplicate Desktop on 1 and 3," and "Extend Desktop to this Display."

How do I get that "show only on" option back with a 3 display setup?

This might be a dumb question but can anti virus detect malicious code in a SWF Flash player file?

    Posted: 26 Feb 2022 05:51 AM PST

I do understand that anti viruses can be a hit or miss but I'm just curious if flash player files make them particularly vulnerable.

Help windows won't finish launching after power outage

    Posted: 25 Feb 2022 07:14 PM PST

Was playing Elden Ring, and our power went down (too many active appliances) and now windows 10 won't finish loading.

It loads my desktop image, and the search bar but that's it. If I click, the cursor turns into loading mode but nothing happens.

I've tried power reset, safe mode gets me the same thing, I cannot access the command prompt and disk check on restart does nothing to fix it.

Do I need to reinstall windows? I just want to play Elden Ring whyyyyy

You know the newer caller ID that has the name of the caller or the business? Do I need to call my phone service provider to change my name?

I'm on a family plan so everyone sees my number as my dad's name :\
