Questions about an open box Microcenter laptop Posted: 20 Feb 2022 11:29 PM PST I was browsing through Microcenter's website and found this at $688 (tax included) open box. Seemed like a great deal, so I reserved it immediately. The specs, to my limited knowledge, seem too good to be true for a laptop under $1000, but I have no idea if Microcenter's brand "PowerSpec" or their Open box policy is any good. I might be missing something, so I just wanted to confirm I'm not making a mistake, since I can just cancel it if I am. Would appreciate any help! Thanks! Edit: I was comparing it to this which also seems like a good laptop for its price, but the "PowerSpec 1530" seems like it still beats it. Which again makes me think something might be wrong with it for it to be that cheap. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Feb 2022 11:09 PM PST Hi. My laptop has 3 usb ports, 2 of them stopped working. I restarted my laptop a couple of times, trying a different usb thumbdrive but it doesn't work.I looked into the ports and I don't see any debris. What should I do to fix it? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 21 Feb 2022 02:04 AM PST I'm sure this question has been asked before, but my concern is not to resolve it. It was pretty jarring to find out that my laptop had an error while trying to have it shut down the other night, in which it said, "there are currently no power options available." I have already fixed this issue through a quick, easy YouTube tutorial, but I'm more curious as to know why exactly this may have happened since I have never even heard or seen this error before. Any suggestions? [link] [comments] |
How to boot from ssd caddy, replaced DVD-drive? Posted: 21 Feb 2022 02:00 AM PST I bought an ssd and a caddy to upgrade my Dell Inspiron 14 7447 to make it's boot time faster. I checked the bios and saw that it was detected as an SSD drive, but after I tried to install windows in the ssd it showed an error saying that Windows couldn't run on that drive/hardware (couldn't remember the exact error it showed). I was fortunate that I was able to reinstall windows 10 to the main drive after removing the caddy, so the laptop is usable again. Did I do anything wrong? Was there a step I missed? Or something I needed to do first? [link] [comments] |
