Posted: 21 Feb 2022 02:11 AM PST ok, weird one at work one of my directors computers keeps doing odd things. one day before Xmas, the home screen background rotated 90 degrees overnight. last week the my documents file had re-ordered itself so that instead of the files being alphabetical, they were in reverse order. all easy enough to fix, but she swears its not her, and as far as i know no one else is touching the PC after she leaves. any idea what's going on? the reason I'm asking is that she controls payroll for our small company, and now she's convinced herself it must be someone interfering with the PC to access payroll information.(obviously its not, if your snooping you wouldn't mess with the Desktop background...) many thanks [link] [comments] | ||

Posted: 20 Feb 2022 06:21 PM PST From the Armor Games mods: "We do not condone the decompilation of our games, or any flash games out there, for whatever purposes... but especially for purposes of copyright enfringement." So I'm forced to ask this question on any site that looks like it supports this type of topic. Thanks to Payday 2, I learned that I can actually extract the game's assets! I.E, sound effects, sprites, 3D models, HUD, UI, etc. But I must resort to file extraction as much as possible as I only resort to Audacity IF ALL ELSE FAILS. And this is a bit complicated, but I originally recorded a sound effect and exported it in wav. format. Then I realized wav. files are much larger than mp3 files. So when I recorded the same sound effect from the same wav file I exported and exported it as an mp3, it sounded slightly distorted compared to the original wav export. It wasn't long til I eventually found the original sound file in it's original format. This file size in it's default mp3 format is much MUCH smaller than the mp3 file I exported of the sound effect I found and the wav file of the sound I recorded. Not to mention the sound file is not distorted after what I did when I tried to record the sound from it's wav file and export it as an mp3 file. Second, when I looked up "Monster House sound effects", out of the blue, I found this: https://soundeffects.fandom.com/wiki/Monster_House_(2006)) No wonder that "truck horn" sound effect was so popular, yet so difficult to acquire from any free sound effects site. The sound effects have a raw file name! Now, on Commando Wiki: https://commando2.fandom.com/wiki/Commando_2_Wiki I found these sprites were sprites ripped directly from the game. So this can help me in identifying armaments and resources much easier. So so far, I have 6 miniclip games I want to extract sound effects and sprites from so I can identify their origins: The Bank Robber - Youda Games Tank Attack - Miniclip Robo Rampage - Miniclip Commando 2 - Miniclip Commando 3 - Miniclip Zombie defense Agency - Miniclip Please say it's still possible to extract the assets today as these sound effects, armaments, and assets look like they could be transformed into 3D models. Posted: 19 Feb 2022 11:38 PM PST So i was just playing in a game and was lagging like crazy every 10 to 15 min I am using the ethernet and my laptop is pretty good and can probably handle the game i was playing. This lag is like a spike every so often and is fine in between the 10 to 15 min timer. This started when i started making clips from geforce. I also dont have a budget so i cant buy anything so im wating a way to fix this without money and if its fixed only by money then tell me please. Thank you to whoever helps me. [link] [comments] | ||
| How do I get rid of my stored searches from TPB? Posted: 20 Feb 2022 06:20 AM PST By TPB, I mean Piratebay. I have a few searches from my single days that I don't want my new gf seeing, I'm sure you can guess what. But I can't find a way to get rid of them. There isn't an x button next to them, the delete button doesn't work and I can't find a way of completely wiping all the saved searches. Is there any way I can do this? EDIT: This is in Chrome. Shift + delete works if I go through all the letters of the alphabet but it's a bit time consuming. Does settings in Chrome have a way to delete the lot? Also, I notice it has search terms saved from other sites but they're coming up on TPB. Not sure why this would be. Is there a setting to stop Chrome saving ALL my search terms? Posted: 19 Feb 2022 03:06 PM PST It came free with my computer from best buy's website, I later realized it was malicious and tried to uninstall it, unfortunately you cannot uninstall or even stop it as a task because it says you do not have admin permission to do so, even when you are in the admin account. | Short but hard lag spike like clockwork Posted: 19 Feb 2022 11:50 PM PST For the past couple weeks I've had an issue where while I am playing games online I will get a very sudden lag spike that will last at most 1 second before returning to normal, however it is strong enough to often disconnect me and force me to relog in. The odd part is that I have noticed that these lag spikes occur exactly on the 23 or 53 minute marks, sometimes it will be several hours without an issue, and sometimes it will be frequently. But it's always at these minute marks, this makes me think that I have some program or such that is sending out large waves of pings on a schedule, but cannot for the life of me figure out which. | Disconnecting from game servers with good WiFi and fast internet Posted: 19 Feb 2022 10:11 AM PST Recently moved into my first house. I went with a Google router because it could handle the speed of my internet provider. I get speeds of 400+ Mbps upload and download according to the routers speed test. The first month had no issues, but then at the start of this week I had to unplug and reboot the router every day when I got home. I'd have a WiFi signal, but nothing would actually load. I could game in relative piece after resetting it each day. So after after four days of rebooting the network (unplugging, turning off) I ended up losing internet completely for a brief time. I eventually factory reset the whole thing. This fixed the issue for my phone and Mac and I could use internet and I haven't needed to reboot since. But on my PS4 specifically the two games I've been playing recently continued timing out and/or disconnecting me from servers again. I can play and sign into the games no problem only to be interrupted at random. Sometimes there is a 50 min gap between disconnects, sometimes 5. It can happen when there are multiple online players in my vicinity or when I'm just looking at my inventory. I know the best solution is to always hardwire for online, but gaming on WiFi gave me no trouble up to this point. Any idea what could cause these 2 issues?
