Repairable or Not? Posted: 03 Dec 2021 04:08 PM PST I have an Asus laptop that got struck hard beside the touchpad, the apps froze and my mouse starts to lag so I forced close and reopened then it keeps booting me to the Aptio Utility Setup always. Weird green borders and mouse not working in theHunter: call of the wild Posted: 03 Dec 2021 01:04 PM PST So I have this problem where I downloaded theHunter: call of the wild from epic games when it was free. I launched it and there was thin green borders around the edges of my screen and my mouse doesn't work when I try to accept the terms of conditions, couldn't scroll, click or anything. Tried fullscreen and windowed mode by pressing alt+enter but nothing seems to work. Also tried restarting my pc, checking my amd settings and all. Also i can't alt tab to any of my apps so i have to alt+f4 everytime I want to change apps. My mouse also works fine and I tried the game with a different mouse. This issue has happened with a few other games in epic games. I tried the game with my other pc but same issue. Can anyone help me with this issue? Thanks! Partition problem. Please help Posted: 03 Dec 2021 11:09 AM PST Hey guys, need some help with my hard drive. A few days ago I found that out of nowhere one of my partitions was showing no space consumption info. It only had NTFS written under the partition name. This had happened before once and I fixed it with command prompt. Then it happened again. The second time, I tried to learn a different method by tinkering with the security access from properties. Sadly, it didn't go as amazing as before. Now, I'm stuck with access to merely 1/20th of my original data and even the space consumption bar isn't representing the rest of my data either. Posted: 03 Dec 2021 11:06 AM PST The PCB was bad (the HD never spun up) on my Seagate St33000651AS. Therefore, I bought a replacement board so I can recover the data on the drive. When I swapped the board, the hard drive powers on, spins up, and starts clicking. Windows 10 makes the "something is connected" sound but the following happens: My Computer does not show that anything is connected. Disk Management, shows (Removable D: No Media) Under Device Manager, Disk Drive shows (Generic MassStorageClass USB Device) Also under Device Manager Portable Devices show (D:\) I was wondering if there was a good way to get my data off of this Hard Drive? submitted by /u/BeMetalo [link] [comments]

Is there a web page that cycles between web pages as if they were PowerPoint slides? Posted: 03 Dec 2021 02:49 AM PST In the school where I work, we have a computer plugged into a big "information screen" via HDMI. We need the school's restaurant menu, a list of absent staff, a list of the week's special events and the school's logo. At first, I tried PowerPoint. I embedded the respective web pages with an add-on called Web Viewer. It works okay but the page doesn't look great because it's embedded. Perhaps there is a different solution than using Google Slides or PowerPoint? Like a web page that cycles between other web pages, similar to a slide show? EXP Soundboard: can't add songs. Posted: 03 Dec 2021 04:50 AM PST Basically when I select an mp3 to add a song to exp soundboard, it selects it, then it takes me back to the menu andd it says 'none selected'. Display shuts off with Dual Monitors and 2 PCs Posted: 02 Dec 2021 08:33 PM PST I've been wracking my brains on this one for almost 2 years now, and I haven't been able to find anything that seems to help, so I figure I'll try here. I have 2 Dell S2716DG G-Sync monitors hooked up to my personal PC via displayport connections on a EVGA 3080 Ti graphics card. I also have my work PC hooked up to those same monitors, but they're hooked up via HDMI cable, because the monitors support it, and it's way easier to switch inputs on the monitors than to switch the cables between the 2 PCS. On this work PC, I have a 3080, and I'm running a Displayport to HDMI adapter on one of the outputs, because the card only has one HDMI output. This also works just fine when using the Work PC. In the morning, I switch the input setting on the monitors to the HDMI connections so I can work. The displays come up just fine with no issues. However, when I switch back to my personal PC via the monitors' Displayport input setting, I get no display. I have to manually remove the Dispalyport cables from my personal PC and reconnect them in order to get it working. This had been annoying, but more or less okay. But recently, doing this has resized all my windows and moved them into the top left corner of Monitor 1, as if I had changed the resolution down to its lowest setting and then back again. Now, this is driving me crazy. It's super annoying to have to change this every day (sometimes multiple times if I switch between the two computers. Interestingly enough, there are some times where I make the switch, and it's perfectly fine. Then there are some times where only Monitor 1 shows the display and I have to reconnect Monitor 2. It seems very inconsistent. Anyone ever experience anything similar, or have any suggestions for things to try? I've already tried changing the Power settings on my monitors so that they don't try to go to sleep. I also don't have any hibernation or sleep settings turned on anywhere on either PC. Wifi on my pc has gotten incredibly slow while all other devices are fine Posted: 02 Dec 2021 06:25 PM PST Hey all, The internet speed on my pc used to be not the best, but tolerable - abt 3 mb per second download. As I said, not the best, but tolerable. Suddenly though it has dropped down to literally like 400kb per second, and it's impossible to play games for the abhorrent lag in them. I tried everything on my old windows install, because it started happening when my wifi driver cause a bsod. Nothing worked, speed stayed the same. Had to use someone elses computer to download something because it would have taken 8 hours on mine. got a new ssd in so i switched to a fresh windows install, and the problem has only gotten worse. I've downloaded drivers from my motherboards website, reinstalled them with windows, tried updating, windows is fully updated, tried everything I could find.
