    GPU FOR 6 MONITORS

    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 04:37 AM PST

Hello everyone. I am looking for a gpu upgrade to suport 6 monitors for trading/gaming. RN I have a r7 3800x water-cooled Mobo is an Asus rog x570F Rams trident z And Psu is a 1000W seasonic titanium if I remember correctly And I want a new gpu to support a 6 monitors hex setup

The monitors will be: Bottom middle a gaming Samsung 240hz 27 inch 2k Top middle a gigabyte 165hz 2k And the corners 4k 65hz viewsonic I dont wanna go all out and buy a 3090. I was thinking a 3070 ti, do you think it will be good enough for 6 monitors and at least 140 fps while gaming (not the shadow of tomb raider style, more like fortnite, rocket league). Gaming is a side task as I am playing very rarely for about 1-2 hrs and I will play only on 1 monitor. And will my psu be enough?

In case you didn't know, some microcenters sell "barebones kits" that include a 3000 series gpu.

    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 03:12 PM PST

I got a 650w psu, 3060 ti, b550 mobo, and a case for $910 USD, all ASUS parts. Worth it imho.

Worth a shot if you're a new builder trying to get parts together.

    Should I regretting buying a $3200 PC including $1500 RTX 3080?

    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 05:32 AM PST

Why I post this is because Im feeling torn about the $3200 price Im paying for this new PC. I want the damn thing but its such a heafty price for a computer. Historically Ive always bought budget PCs but I wanted to give myself a really good PC for once with the main reason wanting to play Hunt Showdown with very good FPS. Thats one of the reasons why Im conflicted about this purchase because Hunt is the only "CPU/GPU" heavy game I play atm (Hunt is mostly CPU heavy). Looking at my old PC I feel like this purchase is justified and I just wanted your opinion considering the inflated prices in todays market. Also my fiancee says I never spend money on myself and that I should do it if I want to.

    OLD PC:

    Mobo: ASUS PRIME Z370-A

    Memory: Corsair 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3000Mhz CL15 Vengeance

CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K 3.7 GHz

    CPU Fan: Noctua NH-U12P SE2

    GPU: MSI Geforce 980

    PSU: Corsair RM750i 750W

    Case: Fractal Design ARC Black

    -----------------------------------

    NEW PC:

    Mobo: Gigabyte B550 Vision D-P

    Memory: Corsair 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3600MHz CL16 Vengeance

    CPU: Ryzen 9 5900x 4.8 GHz

CPU Fan: Noctua NH-D15 Chromax Black

GPU: Gigabyte Geforce RTX 3080 10GB VISION OC Rev2

    PSU: Corsair RM850 850W Vit (2021)

Case: Fractal Design Define S2 White

EDIT: I live in Sweden with high taxes including import taxes of 10%, if Im correct. High taxes COULD be a reason why the price seems higher than in US, for example. And the PC is not prebuild unfortunately... I save money to build it myself.

EDIT 2: You know what, you've made me realise that this whole build is too expensive which I agree on and Im going to return everything to the seller and get a refund.

Thanks for your helpful replies and advices! I appreciate it :D

Computer has something like a memory leak, I'm not sure.

    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 01:41 PM PST

    I'm not super tech savvy

My computer has 16GB of memory in 2 different slots (dual channel). Over the last 2 or so weeks my computer has become unresponsive multiple times, every time it appears to be due to a lack of RAM. Each time it has, my RAM usage (according to task manager) appears to be Chrome at #1, but only using around 1.5GB; however, my computer says I have around 15GB of RAM committed. But I cannot find which program is using the RAM (or what it is committed to).

Yesterday I tried to play some Escape From Tarkov and could not load into a Raid and kept getting an error similar to "Instruction at Referenced Memory Could Not Be Read." It was not this exact error.

    I have tried:

    • Reseating RAM.
    • Using less RAM.
    • Uninstalling/Reinstalling chrome.
    • might be it idk.

I have 2 screenshots from what my task manager looks like before computer becomes unresponsive: https://imgur.com/a/Dty7Fab

Edit: I have uninstalled Killer Network Service, I won't know if it works for a few hours.

Edit 2: It seems to have been fixed, gonna say it was because of Killer Network Service. ty everyone for help.

    RTX 3090 for 1000 Euro??

    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 06:46 AM PST

Hi, I'm waiting to get a new gpu since the release of the new cards, but never wanted to pay double the price for a new card. Now I'm sick of waiting and am starting to feel how old me old pc realy is. I wanted to buy a RTX 3080 but they are so rare. A friend of mine found a offer on ebay with a RTX 3090 for 1000 Euro, which was only used for 1 year and I'm realy tempted. Is this a good deal or should I just wait and hope that the gpu prices drop after christmas and the availability increases?

How to check health of components when buying a used pc?

    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 12:56 PM PST

I am considering to buy a used computer. But I want to run some benchmark test, just to check everything is in order. What is the easiest way to do this? Something I dowload on a USB-stick and run directly from there? Any suggestions to such programs to use, that are also easy to read/understand?

Graphics Card Fans spins very fast while booting.

    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 01:59 PM PST

    I recently upgraded my Ryzen 5 1600AF (12nm) to a 3600 on my b450m motherboard.

So when I started my pc for the first time it booted and crashed many times until a black screen with ‚American Megatrends' logo showed up. I had an issui with fTPM, however I can't remember more details.

After resetting BIOS everything seemed ok and I booted into windows but the graphics settings were resetted. I had to change the display settings to 1080p and 144hz.

I used ddu cleaner and I installed the newest graphis card drivers from nvidia.com.

After playing and testing the new cpu for a moment I shut down my pc, waited a few seconds and booted it again.

For just over 1-2 seconds my MSI RTX 2070 Super fans runs at fullspeed..?

Couldn't find a similar problem anywhere .. has anyone an idea what is cousing that?

I wanna buy a good budget 144hz monitor for FPS gaming

    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 01:02 AM PST

Hi there! I want to buy a gaming monitor for FPS gaming (Apex, cs go, valorant) which is going to be for sure a 144hz monitor... In my region the options are limited, I avoided VA panels since the ghosting on those monitors is horrible. Here are some of the best 144hz budget monitors that I have found in my region for acceptable prices..

    1 - Acer KG241QS

    2 - Viewsonic Xg2405

    3 - AOC 24g2 ( it isn't mentioned if it's 2020 or 2019 version)

    4 - 27gl650f (it's 1080p and 27inch, as I heard you can notice a lot of pixelation)

5 - Lenovo G24-10 ( which is simply the worst out of the list, but the cheapest by a lot)

I'm coming from an Ips 75hz Samsung monitor, which is great but not for FPS gaming.. I appreciate any type of help, Thank you in advance.

    Case fan and RAM question.

    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 06:30 PM PST

My first question is about RGB case fans. I have a 4000D Airflow (just got it) and looking to put 6 rgb fans in it. I can't seem to find any reviews on case fans, can find reviews on just about every other computer component but very little on fans. I hear really good and really bad things about the Corsair LL120's from several people, plus they are fairly pricey, I also am considering the Cooler Master MF120 Halo's. For some reason, several people have suggested Enermax Squa (never heard of Enermax) but I don't care for the "ring" led's as much as the full led fan's so maybe the Enermax HF120 but there is litteraly no info on how those are. I was hoping someone here could give me some solid suggestions.

The quesion I have about RAM is fairly simple, I plan on getting either 2x 8gb RGB Ballistix 3600 DDR4 or 2xgb Tridentz 3600 DDR4. I just bought a 12700k. Which is better suggested? Ballistix I have read are pretty solid but it seems their rgb controls can be pretty bad. I don't know much about Tridentz honestly.

    Need new psu for 5600x + 3060

    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 04:02 PM PST

I need a new psu because I upgraded to a 5600x + 3060 combo and my old 550 watt psu is barely enough.

The psu that I have my eye on right know are: Corsair RMx 850watt (€100) Corsair Cx750f 750watt RGB (€60) Gigabyte GP P850GM 850watt (€70) Seasonic Focus GX 650 watt (€80)

Which one of these should I buy? Any other suggestions are welcome too, my budget is around €100.

One bent pin on a brand new Z590 mobo. How screwed am I?

    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 03:37 PM PST

Someone please help with the most logical advice for the next step. Freaking out here a bit.

So this was my third ever build, where the first two were successful builds by me from scratch with the latest build being based on 1150 mobo and 8 gen CPU, so I thought I knew it all. Easy stuff, just plug it in correct connectors/sockets and it'll work, or so I thought.

I decided to update and got myself a Z590 mobo (MSI) and 11600k. Put everything together, turn the power on, red CPU Easy Debug led lights on. I go through 5 hours of trying to figure out what can be wrong by plugging and unplugging stuff and running various tests but nothing works.

Someone suggests check the CPU socket pins, I do, there is one single bent pin. Here is the picture (https://imgur.com/a/prRO28l).

I have 0 idea how that happened as I installed CPU once doing it very carefully and didnt bother checking pins before doing so. Am I out $200? I assume the store will tell me to pound sand because there is no way I can't prove it that it wasnt my fault and I have no idea if it was or wasn't to be honest. Should I try to send it back saying the motherboard or cpu dont work and hope for replacement or something? Or no chance? If no chance, what should I do? Try to straighten it out? Bring it to repairman?

PS. I bought it from Newegg

Yesterday my R5 5600x was overheating but now it's fine?

    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 09:37 AM PST

I have a 5600X paired with a MSI MAG CoreLiquid 240R, yesterday i was gaming as usual and noticed huge fps drops, when i checked the temps the cpu was at 95c and throttling hard.

I restarted the pc and got a cpu temp warning at boot, so it was having troubles cooling even when nothing was open, i shut down the pc and went to check the cooler, everything was fine, turned pc on and tested with AIDA64 and some games, same shit, 95c.

I couldn't understand why, gave up and went to sleep, today i went to test and the cpu won't go over 65c when stress testing or gaming, i'm scratching my head trying to understand what the fuck was happening and getting kind of paranoid about temps.

Has this ever happened to you guys? (Sorry about formatting etc, i suck at this)

Should I stress test my new pc with things like blender or cinebench?

    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 03:28 PM PST

So I built my PC about 3 months ago. No problems as of yet from what I can tell. My average temp is around 70-75 degrees when gaming. GPU running normally at somewhere around 98-99% and my CPU is normally about half that. For reference, I have a 2060, Ryzen 5 5600x, and 16gb of 3600mhz ram. I've always been curious though, would I benefit from stress testing my PC? I don't know much about that kind of stuff and I don't want to ruin anything. Maybe I'm overestimating my PC, but I normally only get around 100fps on modern games at medium settings, sometimes only 60 for the more demanding games such as most recently Halo. Also, I've never tried over locking as I have no idea how to do it.

Replaced My Old Thermaltake Smart M850W PSU with a Corsair RM850x and computer does not power on.

    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 05:40 PM PST

So I bought a Corsair RM850x to replace my old PSU (which is a semi-modular Thermaltake PSU, so the CPU and 24 pin connectors do not come out) and when I put it in my current system and hook everything up, the mobo receives power, but does not turn on or post or anything. I just performed the paperclip test, and the PSU seems to work fine? This is a PSU with a 0 RPM fan mode for light to moderate loads, but the fan always turns on when the system is turned on, and in the case of the paperclip test, the fan did turn on for around 10 seconds or so.

It should be noted that when I flip the power switch on the PSU, the mobo does get power, as indicated by some of the LEDs on my motherboard (it does not have debug LEDs) and when I attempt to power on the computer normally, my RAM RGB lights do turn on. However, the fans on my heatsink and, I think my case fans do not turn on either, which are powered via molex cables into my PSU and are not connected to my mobo in any way.

Not really sure what is going on here since the Corsair PSU seems to turn on fine when I do the paperclip test, but it does not turn on my system. The new PSU does click when it is turned on and when it turns off, I do not think this is an issue or indicative of anything though.

    Getting into AMD CPUs, advice?

    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 05:39 PM PST

Planning on upgrading my mobo, cpu, and RAM. Mainly worried about the motherboard, is it a good pick? I don't plan on messing with OC or anything and I'm not sure if there is a cheaper model I should go for that will still get the job done.

    CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X

    RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series - DDR4 3200 - 32 GB (2x16)

    Mobo: MSI mag B550 tomahawk

Cooler/thermal paste: Absolutely no idea what's good these days, I'm still using a Cooler Master 212x + arctic silver 5. Any recommendations? Want to stay with fans/heatsinks, not really interested in water cooling.

Already have: A Corsair RMX 850W PSU, several SSDs, case, RTX 2070

My PC is used for light video editing, a ton of photo editing, lots of gaming (Apex, Battlefield 2042, etc), some streaming. Planning on getting a 144hz 1920x1080 monitor in the near future as well.

Is an extra $275 for a 3080 worth it?

    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 02:35 PM PST

Hey all I have an unlocked 3070 that a local miner is interested in.

I was lucky enough to get my PNY RTX 3070 XLR8 for $530 newish, and I was looking to trade it up to a 3080 or a different 3070 (I don't like the way the PNY 3070 looks), I got an offer from a local miner and talked him down to trade my non-lhr 3070 + $275 for his evga ftw3 Rtx 3080.

My question is, is the extra $275 worth it? Thank you!
