    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 03:26 AM PST

The sphere of social media is near void of sincerity. There's a certain irony born from the desire to 'connect', 'follow' and 'become friends' whereby you actually become disconnected from yourself and the people that really matter to you. Iternal fulfils what social media does not.

Iternal is the place for preserving the moments that matter most to you, on the go and in an instant, whether they're your own stories; or the memories of those closest to you.

Save experiences, record a personal project or start a daily journal; however you use Iternal, we've got you covered. With a promise to never sell your data to third-party companies, the experience is all about you.

    • Record on the go
    • Never miss a moment
    • Curate your own personal timeline
    • Share and connect in an instant
    • Stay in control

Our app for Android is now live! If you're someone who prides themselves on being ahead of the curve; at the forefront of new tech trends, or if you've simply had enough of the disingenuous superficiality of social media, then Iternal is the place for you.

    Dworkin Live Wallpaper

    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 02:25 AM PST

I've made a live wallpaper application that draws procedurally generated shapes, which form unique pattern each time.

    Play store link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dworkinLWP.DworkinLWP

    Video: https://youtu.be/Zd9t86MRTFM

All aspects of the wallpaper (pattern, background, foreground, and effect) are highly customizable. Each option can be set to be randomized, which sets random value every time new pattern is drawn.

Has plenty of built-in presets and ability to save user presets.

App is free with in-app purchases. No ads. Doesn't require any permissions except set wallpaper.

Try it and feel free to tell what you think about it.

Heyo party people!... Anyone know of a good app for taking notes?

    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 10:32 AM PST

I've got this idea for a webcomic, and I figured a good notetaking app would be a good way to keep the ideas organized.

The 2 primary things I'm looking for in the app are

    • The ability to add visuals to the note, preferably by drawing. This way I can add things like character doodles or really rough thumbnail sketches to help cement the idea.

    • The ability to separate things into different "Notebooks" of sorts, or maybe some sort of #hashtag system. (I'm sure most good ones do that, but not the one that comes with the phone)

    [QUESTION] Best QR Code Generator?

    Posted: 30 Nov 2021 09:11 PM PST

Anyone have a favorite QR Code maker? From the Play Store, it's looking like my best bets are probably:

    1. this one by QRTIGER

    2. this one, which looks kinda identical to #3, which is a bit sus

    3. this one which seems identical to #2, which is sus

Anyone have experiences with these? Any others you can recommend?

In case anyone is curious about why I need a QR code generator, my intended uses are (1) allow easy connection to my wifi (2) link to my social medias and website for my business (3) make instructions and warranty info easily accessible for various items I own (4) expanding the fun I can have with homemade birthday cards (5) messing with friends by putting QR codes in random locations in my bathroom that lead to them being Rick Rolled.

I'm looking to use a drawing app on my phone, for the occasional fix of photo or drawing but to make correction with the finger is kind of clumsy.

So looking for a stylus with fine point that works with the phone screen, any ideas suggestions?

(request) my elderly relative loves games and apps like Bubble Shooter, Blockpuz and coloring mandalas. Her english isn't the best. Which are some good android games or apps that you think might appeal to her?

    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 09:43 AM PST

The games don't have to be exact copies of these games. Similar or better or something that you might think would fit for someone who likes those games and doesn't speak much english.

I don't know much about android gaming but I'm sure that there are games that are much higher quality than others. She really likes Bubble Shooter, Blockpuz and coloring mandalas.

"INVERT COLOR" APP for Android 10?

    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 11:23 AM PST

Are you aware of any app that inverts the colors of the UI? Basically, I'm after an app that overlays a filter for mimicking a dark mode on an e-reader running Android 10? The stock UI does not have it.

The only similar app I know is Grey-Switch, which converts the full screen to black and white, but does not invert the colour.

[REQUEST] App that monitors mobile data usage per app? Pixel 4a's built in monitor behaving oddly.

    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 06:35 AM PST

I have a rooted Google Pixel 4a and I'm looking for an app that can monitor mobile data usage per app.

I have a 20gig plan with my carrier and last month I hit that limit half way through the month which has never happened before. When I had a look at the App Data Usage, it showed that I'd used 44 gigs when my carrier told me I'd used 20gigs. That didn't make sense.

It's been 5 days since my data has reset and the App Data Usage says I've used 2.5 gigs of data. I manually calculated what is being shown for each app, and it totaled 1gig. It's pretty close to what my carrier is reporting as my current usage. Where is the other 1.5 gig being reported from in App Data Usage?

To be clear, I am specifically talking about mobile data of course, and not wifi data.

So yea, I need an app to monitor my data usage and would appreciate any help.

What's up with getting 'new' app updates that have the exact same notes as a previous update?

    Posted: 30 Nov 2021 03:32 PM PST

Happens a lot to me. I'll see I have an update available for an app, I'll read the release notes on the Play Store, and they will be identical to the update I installed a month and a half ago.

Is this just devs forgetting to update the descriptions, or does the store prompt a re-installation of that update for some reason?

Google Keep alternative where I can expand/collapse nested checkboxes in a to-do list?

    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 09:49 AM PST

    Hello all,

I know the Google Keep alternative question has been asked before but I cannot find any options that simply let me have lists/checkboxes within lists/checkboxes that I can collapse/expand. Google Keep obviously allows you to have one level of indentation under a checkbox (would be nice not to be limited on that) but also does not give you the ability to collapse/expand a parent checkbox with children.

Is there anything out there with this functionality?

    Thanks!

Edit: Ok I found a good one on my own. its called Workflowy, has exactly what I needed, seems pretty nice. Happy to leave this here as a reference or delete it if mods prefer.

    Android Telematics App SDK Integration

    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 09:37 AM PST

Hey devs, wondering if there is someone out here who has worked on/developed telematics apps and can integrate an open-source SDK tracking and safe-driving app to collect location, driving style, driving behaviors, driving patterns, lifestyle patterns, vehicle data, and monitor car crashes.

Please contact me if you can, experienced, interested and have a portofolio to that effect. OR point me to someone or people... :-)

    Thanks guys.

(request) the quality between launchers is very different. does any of the launchers aimed at seniors stand out as the best? or perhaps can one of the regular launchers serve as a better senior launcher? looking for opinions.

    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 09:34 AM PST

One of my close relatives is quite elderly and could use a simpler launcher. She likes pretty things but the regular samsung launcher seems to be a bit too much for her.

    Adblocking app for in-app ads?

    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 03:14 AM PST

I'm using the Adguard private DNS, but I'm looking for other alternatives. Searching for in-app adblockers on Google would not show anything relevant, since the keyword "app" is in it, and it thinks I'm talking about the general topic of adblockers. I'm already rooted so no need for "bUt YoU nEeD rOoT" in the comments. Also, doesn't have to be apps exclusively, Magisk modules and Xposed modules would be fine.

    Time tracker applications

    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 07:02 AM PST

I've been playing with gleeo time tracker,Atracker, and repeat alarm apps on Google play. I've been looking for an app that works like a stopwatch/ alarm clock where I can set multiple timers (labeled for different purposes) that I can set to go off and restart/reset after their respective intervals. I.e.- drink water=2 hours then (sound alarm) + reset and, check soil= 3 hrs. 30 min. Then sound alarm and reset. It seems impossible to find. The ones I have are not quite what I'm looking for, any suggestions?

Android Video Player with dB limited ?

    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 06:27 AM PST

Actually, I need a basic video player for Android. Many video players have an increased decibel feature. But, it doesn't have limited or normalized features. What I am looking for is just like footbar2000's ReplayGain feature. Or fb2000 video player if there is. Any suggest!

    Best Document Reader !

    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 12:02 AM PST

Few weeks ago, I started using this Libre Office & Open Document Reader | ODF It works fine, today I tried opening a .xlxs file. It showed nothing. I relaunched the app but no result. then I read the app description again, which read that it supports most of the file formats including .xlxs. I installed the app from fDroid, but somehow I noticed that here app isn't updated to the latest version as on Play Store app ( which contains ads ). Then I replaced the app with play store version. Opened the same file again ( yep I tried changing the file) now there's a popup msg which reads that File format isn't supported ! anyone help me ? or suggest me a good open source universal document reader.
