Really sad the normal S21 5G isn't on sale today

    Posted: 26 Nov 2021 12:20 PM PST

It had $100 off early last week and now that's been removed and at regular price. Was waiting for black friday to see if there was a bigger discount on it. Guess I should have bought it back then.

This is for a Galaxy S9 upgrade on my phone account.

    Social Media Camera Quality

    Posted: 26 Nov 2021 05:03 AM PST

I was wondering with Android 12 being available in more phones (mine updated today, in Greece) whether we will start to see a better implementation of our cameras in social media apps other than Snapchat.

Instagram still looks way too bad and other than that we can't even use the Ultrawide or the Telephoto sensor.

Google Pixel 6 works perfectly why can't they fix it for Samsung devices too?

I'm super disappointed by the Galaxy Buds Plus. Now I'm considering switching over to the Galaxy Buds Live. Should I?

    Posted: 26 Nov 2021 12:07 PM PST

We have the Black Friday days and I bought the Galaxy Buds Plus. My first wireless earphones. So far I've been using... just regular wired earphones for 15-25 bucks.

Oh boy, oh boy, do I hate the Buds Plus. They are uncomfortable and my ears start to hurt only 15-30 minutes in. I've tried the various sizes and they are either too big or too small. And when they are too small it's even more dangerous. I had a close call while peeing. Anyway I feel like Goldilocks, if there was no golden middle for Goldilocks.

On top of that, the sound quality is insanely bad IMO. It sounds sooo distant and robotic. Absolutely unpleasant. My cheap ass 20 Euro earphones sound better. Is that a wired / wireless thing?

Now I'm considering sending them back. Well, I will be sending them back, because just aren't comfortable. But I'm also considering buying the Buds Live instead. I've read that they are much more comfortable and really fit well into the ear. They become part of the ear almost?

Did you have a similar experience? Can you compare the two in terms of comfort and sound quality? Or should I maybe go with the Apple AirPods for 50 Euro more? They LOOK like earphones, which would be more comfortable to wear. But at the same time I really like Samsung and I'd rather give them my money than Apple.

    Samsung Locked Bootloaders

    Posted: 26 Nov 2021 10:09 AM PST

Hello I am fairly new to all this but I am curious why Samsung locks its bootloaders on the newer snapdragon models? Have they given a reason for this change after the s9? Why is it only in the USA and Canada? (Is it because of privacy or security laws present or not present in these regions?) I did some quick google searches and and the issue seems to have been ignored outside and development environments. From what I had noticed samsung got alot of bussiness from developers tweaking their phones not to mention the ethical component of ownership after purchase. Is Samsung's decision to lock bootloaders a testament to the value of individual's data over the value that the development community brought forth? (samsungs data collection fiscally outweighs the development market when it comes to sales?)

What is the best art you can display in your Samsung “The Frame”

    Posted: 26 Nov 2021 09:09 AM PST

According to you what wasSsamsung's greatest flagship and what is the last good flagship from them?

    Posted: 26 Nov 2021 07:15 AM PST

For me samsung's greatest flagship is the Galaxy S5: for the year it came out (2014) it had really good specs and was basically the best phone in every field, had a competitive pricing (699 at launch) and was super packed with everything from the ir blaster to the heartrate sensor and the fingerprint reader.

I think that samsung's last great flagship is the Galaxy S10 lineup: very competitive specs which make it a good all rounder, no marketing camera specs with high mpx numbers, just a good array of camera sensors, sd card slot, headphone jack, heartrate sensor and a very good design. My only complain is the price 1029 for the S10plus was a bit too much perhaps a 899 would have been more appropriate.

I would include in the list as honorable mentions (I know I asked for your opionion by picking 2 devices) but the Galaxy SII and the original Galaxy Note deserve a spot in the contenders for greatest samsung flagships of all time whereas the Galaxy S7 and Note 7 (RIP) deserve a honorable mention for samsung's last good flagship.

What are your personal favourites folks? :)

Where does Samsung publish their kernels?

    Posted: 26 Nov 2021 08:29 AM PST

I am looking to do some research on Android and some of it's lower level features and capabilities. I need to access the source code for the kernel that the Galaxy S5, specially G900FXXU1CTK2, ships with. Where are they found? I cannot seem to find them anywhere. I've already checked the support website, it's not there.

    S21 update to A12 regrets?

    Posted: 26 Nov 2021 12:34 PM PST

So I finally got the prompt to update to Android 12 on my S21, but wanted to ask anyone else that's already updated to 12 if there are any regrets, or if you like it! Thanks!

Phone keeps unlocking in my pocket

    Posted: 26 Nov 2021 09:02 AM PST

So my Note 20 Ultra keeps unlocking itself out of nowhere in my pocket and does all sorts of stuff due to my leg pushing the screen. It's really infuriating as it drains a lot of battery.

I have a fingerprint lock btw so it just seems really weird.

    A52s vs. S20 FE?

    Posted: 26 Nov 2021 01:45 AM PST

Like the title says, with the Black Friday sales, I am able to purchase the A52s 5G for exactly the same price as the updated S20FE 4G with the Snapdragon 865. Both are the 6/128 models. I feel like the A52s will have longer lasting support because it's newer, and it has 5G - which I don't really know if is a deal breaker. The S20 FE has probably a better camera setup and build quality.

    Any suggestions?

    Galaxys’ OLED issues?

    Posted: 25 Nov 2021 06:12 PM PST

Has anybody experienced faulty OLED displays in any of the galaxys line?

I'm an iPhone user and my phone has an annoying flickering issue, I've heard several times that this something common with OLED displays in general and even Apple told me this is normal so I was wondering if I'm just the crazy Karen that didn't know this, I'd like to hear how the displays are on the galaxys or any other Samsung phones as I was very tempted to get the z flip3.

have you have had any type of issues with OLED displays (even if not the same) please share your experiences.

    Thanks

    Posted: 25 Nov 2021 10:11 PM PST

I need a new phone, and I've found the s20 ultra for the same price as the normal s21

Wich do I buy, from what I could tell the s20 ultra has better camera and bigger battery. But is a year older, is it worth buying the s20 ultra?
