Posted: 28 Nov 2021 02:31 AM PST Brand - ZTE Model - Axon 7 (A2017U) Android version - 7.1.1 stock ROM Not rooted Recovery mode - TWRP SD card mode - Portable Storage Issue - after phone has been powered on for about a day, I will get an issue saying the external SD card is corrupt. 2 different SD cards were used, one of them is brand new from Samsung Restarting the phone fixes the issue, and my Windows 10 pc reads the card perfectly with no issues. When formatting the SD card in Android, it will not work. It will request to be formatted immediately after formating. The SD card is partitioned via TWRP in recovery mode. That is the only way to get it to work. Ext3 and ext4 have been tried, both with the same issue. The phone has been factory reset to attempt to fix the issue. No success has been made by doing this. Question - how can I fix this issue so that the SD card stops being seen as corrupt after a few hours of the phone being on? [link] [comments] |
| Regarding app layout on Android 12 Posted: 28 Nov 2021 01:59 AM PST I have a Galaxy S21. Right now, my app layout is "iPhone style" (starts on home screen, and I swipe right to view app pages). However, I'd like it to be swipe up to view apps, or get a physical "view apps" button for home screen. Any help on getting this changed would be appreciated. [link] [comments] |

| Why does my Pixel 6 Pro when idling uses more battery than my Nexus 5 when idling Posted: 27 Nov 2021 06:36 PM PST I've recently upgraded to the Google Pixel 6 Pro after 8 years with the Google Nexus 5, so, this would be my first time with a "modern" smartphone as of present Everything is wonderful except one thing, the battery life When idling (I do not touch the phone at all, rarely or no lock/unlock) I watched my Pixel 6 Pro drained 6% in the span of 2 hours, so roughly 3% per hour (That is a lot!), compared to my Nexus 5 which feels like it drained 5% if left alone for the whole day What is going on? is it a "modern" phone thing? is it my phone? my settings? at this rate, it needs to be charged daily Here is the Battery Usage breakdown; https://imgur.com/a/mgJsN7n Why does "Mobile Network Standby", "Ambient Display", "Phone Idle" eat so much battery while idling, I am thinking of getting rid of "Your Phone Companion" even though I find it useful, conflicted if it is worth the battery, everything else looks good [link] [comments] |
| "Tapjacking detected" - cause for concern? Posted: 27 Nov 2021 05:56 PM PST I'm using NordVPN on a Samsung phone (Android 11), and I got a notification today saying "tapjacking detected". I couldn't find much on it besides the general vulnerability, so unsure what the implications of that are. I'm using a blue light filter, and the bits of information I've found made me wonder whether NordVPN could've shown a false positive because of the screen filter. I wanted to check because I've recently made online purchases which involved entering credit card information. Should I be concerned, and are there any checks I could/should do? Thanks! | Some websites only work on certain browsers Posted: 27 Nov 2021 10:06 AM PST So I basically wanna surf Imgur website on MS edge but then there's an error that keeps poppin up, the same thing happens when I use Chrome & Samsung Internet. Even with/without VPN it doesn't work. The only thing that worked is by using UC browser (I know it's sketchy) but I've no any other choices. Any workaround? | Google Assistant no longer working when screen is off Posted: 27 Nov 2021 05:11 PM PST I'm using a Galaxy s21 base model. I just updated a few days ago to the latest one UI and Google Assistant no longer works unless I have the phone open and unlocked. I use Google Assistant as an accessibility feature, it controls all my lights, thermostat, etc. Now when the screen is off and the always on display is on saying hey google, or OK Google does not bring up assistant. It works with Bixby but Bixby is somewhat limited and I can't run some of the routines that I use with assistant. Is this the bug? Or is this a new security feature? Posted: 27 Nov 2021 08:40 PM PST If you ever tried to edit notification for a conversation by long pressing in pull down menu, that conversation will show up HERE in messages notifications settings and be stuck there. If you ever change your notification sounds or settings, these conversations will not be updated. You would have to change them one by one. Even worst if you use a personalize sound, it could break and play no sound when you migrate phones. Only way I found to get the conversations out of that list is to RESET APP PREFERENCES in system/reset options. Hope this helps someone as I think this is very broken on google's part. P.S. some say to select "this is a not conversation", this does nothing put move the conversation under incoming messages. All the problems remain. | Prevent Android 12 Clipboard from Auto-Clearing? Posted: 27 Nov 2021 03:40 PM PST So the thing I hate by far the most about Android 12 is the clipboard. Mainly - it doesn't exist in a usable way anymore. Is there any way at all to keep it from auto-clearing? Whether I'm using Swiftkey or GBoard on my S21 or Pixel 6, if I save something to the clipboard (even when pinned) and come back to the clipboard a few hours later or the next morning my clipboard is empty. It may be a security issue on the Pixel but I HATE it. Is there any way to prevent it from clearing? On my S21 (android 11 and earlier) you could clip something indefinitely as long as you pinned it to your clipboard. [link] [comments] |
| [pixel 6] Google message no notifications sound Posted: 27 Nov 2021 07:05 PM PST Google Messages had no notification sound when I got a text, so I checked. It shows sound=932 instead of Hey (from pixel default list). I've never downloaded anything outside of pixel default list. Changed it back to Hey, did a reset app preferences. It changed back to sound=932. Why does it default to this "932" instead of default notification sound? The worst part is all the contacts are set to 932. I have to wait till they text me to be able to change it back to default in settings/notifications/conversations. Any way to make it default notification sound across all of google messages? Posted: 27 Nov 2021 03:30 PM PST I have several documents that I created with the Samsung Notes app on my Samsung S10 - I then moved those notes to my laptop, and then later moved them back to my phone. They are currently saved under the "documents" section of my phone, but I would like to get them back to the Samsung Notes app. I've done the a few times in the past, and each time, all I had to do was select the file I wanted under documents and then open the file with Samsung Notes. But now, when I try to open the files, I'm not given the option to open them with Samsung Notes. The only options I'm given are to open the files with Google Chrome, Office Mobile, or something called "html viewer". So, I download some audio files (usually from my Gmail) and I play them in VLC media player and I want to permanently add them to a playlist. But when I do this, after a period of time, the files become unplayable because it says the file with that location is missing. If I go searching for the file I can find it and play it again. | Help: recent calls only showing most recent call from each person. Posted: 27 Nov 2021 01:01 PM PST Moto G7, android version 10, T-mobile. In the past when I went I to recent calls, it would show the person the number of calls they made to me that day, and a drop down to show the when and how long. Now it's only showing the most recent call from each person and not showing any previous calls that day. I've tried rebooting my phone, and Google failed me on this one. | Only Google websites and apps working Posted: 27 Nov 2021 12:39 PM PST Both my wife and I have Verizon Note 20's and recently at the same time both of us will not be able to access anything but Google products over mobile data. We can get into YouTube, playstore, google.com, etc but nothing outside of Google. This has happened quite a few times and it's annoying and it always seems to happen to both of our phones around the same time.
