Posted: 02 Oct 2021 06:24 PM PDT Hello.I used to have mimax 2 which had a wonderful setting.You could create a screen lock and a fingerprint,BUT you could choose:"ask for password:never",so technically it was kinda disabled.Your screen could be unlocked from anyone,and,at the same time,you had access to your google passwords,or bank apps etc. Miui 12,5 unfortunately (among other things) doesn't have this option.So I'm looking for a workaround that could cover my needs.Thanks in advance for any help you could provide.. submitted by /u/thrylosthyra7 [link] [comments]

Can't acces storage settings after setting up sd card Posted: 02 Oct 2021 12:07 PM PDT I put an sd card in my POCO X3 NFC and for some reason it's become a shit show. I can't acces any settings that involve storage, including unmounting the sd card. I chose the option to move all my files to my sd card after formatting it, so I think it's been formatted as internal storage? Is this power bank bloated or am I just being paranoid? Posted: 02 Oct 2021 04:10 PM PDT Album Link So I've been using this Xiaomi Mi bank 2C for a good 3-4 years now and a few days ago I noticed it being slightly bloated on one side, or atleast that is the way it seems to me. It doesn't seem to have bloating to the point where the case is severely deformed and the walls are detaching from the front and back lid as i've seen others have however It seems to me like it has slight bulging. I made a few pictures but it's really hard to descern with my naked eye if it's actually bloated while i'm holding it, since it had a kind of rounded form to begin with. What do you guys think? Why disabling vbmeta after unlocking the bootloader? Posted: 02 Oct 2021 02:03 PM PDT Hello, I have some things that aren't clear for me.. First: as far as i know unlocking the bootloader making it skip checking for chained partitions in vbmeta so it will boot normal if custom OS used, why some guides recommend unlocking the bootloader then flashing a disabled vbmeta with --disable-verity --disable-verification flags? btw my device booting custom boot image normally with unlocked bootloader so what exactly you gain from disabling vbmeta? Second: can this way be used to allow booting custom boot or recovery on a locked bootloader by generating custom vbmeta with recovery partition signed by me for example then flashing it and relock the bootloader, from what i know this can't be done especially on qualcomm SoCs as they have secureboot eFuse and the PBL checks for vbmeta integrity with the key burned in the SoC if bootloader is locked which makes me wonder more about why someone would disable vbmeta in the first place if bootloader is unlocked.. Third: this part is really confusing, in this source: https://android.googlesource.com/platform/external/avb/+/master/README.md it's said that If the device is LOCKED, only an OS signed by an embedded verification key (see the previous section) shall be accepted. Additionally, rollback_index[n] as stored in the verified image must be greater or equal than what's in stored_rollback_index[n] on the device (for all n) and the stored_rollback_index[n] array is expected to be updated as specified in the previous section. If the key used for verification was set by the end user, and the device has a screen, it must show a warning with the key fingerprint to convey that the device is booting a custom OS. The warning must be shown for at least 10 seconds before the boot process continues. If the device does not have a screen, other ways must be used to convey that the device is booting a custom OS (lightbars, LEDs, etc.). so this means that a modified vbmeta is acceptable while bootloader is locked and the device will display a warning screen then boot a custom rom if signed by the user in vbmeta but doesn't have OEM signature? how can that be possible on a qualcomm SoCs which have secure boot enabled and can't be disabled? as far as i know this isn't possible unless Secureboot function in qualcomm grant the boot process if the user signed the partition and added his key to vbmeta and then it will accept vbmeta which doesn't have the OEM signature.. I've seen that from 27th November some Xiaomi models won't receive updates but I'm confused about if will be Android, MIUI or both kinds of updates.
