    What's next for MIUI?

    Posted: 29 Oct 2021 04:05 AM PDT

Any idea or news about what will be the next itiration of MIUI ? Android 12 is a huge change even for stock android and Samsung has announced its One UI 4 for android 12 which is again quite a overhaul for a lot of things. But I haven't read or seen anything from Xiaomi. They haven't really changed anythig since MIUI 11 not even their terrible notifications.

Broken Camera glass on the Mi 11 ultra? The phone fell down and since then there's these 2 dots when something bright is in the subject. And a big one in the middle.

Redmi 9 doesn't turn on and Forced Restart doesn't work

    Posted: 29 Oct 2021 03:50 PM PDT

I was using my Redmi 9 while it was charging, until out of nowhere it turned off. I tried to manually turn it on again with the button but it didn't respond. Then it started to vibrate for a span of time and restarted, but it turned off again. This cycle keeps on happening (it's not immediate, like, it restarts at least three times within an hour).

It doesn't turn on when I connect it to my computer either, and I can't do Force Restart (nothing happens, the phone doesn't respond). I would like to know how I can solve this, since it is a phone that I acquired recently (I bought it in June) and I do not want to get rid of it being it brand new.

Did they really remove the Dual Apps feature?

It's one of my favorite features from MIUI and now I'm a bit scared to buy a newer Redmi because of this.

    Redmi 9t notification light

    Posted: 29 Oct 2021 01:17 PM PDT

So I just bought a Redmi 9t and it's been great so far but the one thing that's been bugging me is that It doesn't seem to have a notification light on the front of the phone. The notification light that I'm talking about is a little led light on the front of the phone that's supposed to light on when you get some nofications or serves as an indication when your charging that the battery is 100%. So my questions is, does the Redmi 9t have a notification light and I've seem to have missed it in the setting or something? Or do I have to bear with this missing feature?

Any good/easy guides to install the official ROM (or better ROMS if you have any recommendations) for a beginner? Mi 10T lite 5G

    Posted: 29 Oct 2021 12:58 PM PDT

    Hello all,

Wanted to check with you guys first before i do anything. My phone, Mi 10T lite 5G has a vendor ROM installed and sadly i rarely get updates and it's pretty annoying, as you can see here in this screenshot the last update was in June http://imgur.com/a/l7kQN1p . I found tons of guides and videos but i'm not sure which ones are good enough so i decided to ask here since maybe you guys can recommend me some good guides and where to download the official ROMS or better ones if you know any. It's my first time going through unlocking bootloader and all that stuff and i don't really want to mess anything up.

Also another question. If i do install another ROM do they work like a normal ROM works and i'll get updates through the settings or will i have to flash the ROM everytime or when major Android versions releases?

    Mi9T storage keeps filling

    Posted: 29 Oct 2021 04:36 PM PDT

    Hello everybody,

I have a Mi 9T (aka K20) for which I recently updated to 12.1.1 (I got the OTA update just some times ago, while I heard that this one was available months ago even 12.5+ - and for which I regret a lot since I'm not able to use gestures..)

But anyway.. I'm experiencing since a while (not sure if it's related to the update but I guess no) my storage being full.

I'm deleting some videos and photos from my camera.. And like one or two days later, I got the same error (storage being full which somehow makes the phone unusable).

Then, since I don't have much video/pictures to delete, this time I'm saving space by deleting caches from Telegram, etc.)

Then again a few days later, I have the same issue.

I'm now at a point I really think that there's some kind of a rogue app that eat the space with some kind of logs or whatnot..

I used some tool (Files from Google and the stock cleaner utility) but it doesn't really help, since the issue is still coming back. And when I display within those apps the big files I don't see really big files (other than some media I'm aware of).

So no big .log file or whatnot..

Please, can anyone give me some direction to take in order to solve my problem?

    Thank you very much.

Any ways to bypass the arbitrary 168 hour wait for unlocking bootloader?

    Posted: 29 Oct 2021 06:58 AM PDT

there are guides/tutorials with a modified mi unlock tool available which removes the wait, however the updates to the tool made these modifications irrelevant.

My question is, is there any latest update for this modified mi unlock?

Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Storage usage.

    Posted: 29 Oct 2021 11:45 AM PDT

I have a Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 and it has 64gb storage space. Well, it should have 64gb Storage space because I have checked my files using 4 different apps and i can only see 28~33gb storage space being used but all the apps that i have tried say im using 41gb of my storage space and i have 53gb storage space in total. What should i do im so confused...

Blurry/unresponsive screen issue on Poco F3

    Posted: 29 Oct 2021 06:22 AM PDT

Hey everyone, decided to reach out to the reddit group as I was unable to find any help elsewhere.

I recently started getting this issue, that if I go back to the main screen from some sort of an app, the background gets blurred and no gesture controls work.

It stays like this after locking and unlocking the phone but sometimes (less than 20% of the time) it comes back to usual home screen without any workarounds. For me it looks like the transition to the main screen gets stuck.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    no 5ghz hotspot?

    Posted: 29 Oct 2021 10:21 AM PDT

Something weird is happening with MIUI. I am trying to make a 5ghz hotspot for my pc but it won't show up.(2.4 ghz works just fine, my pc support 5ghz). I tried with mi 9t and redmi note 8 and nothing shows app but the hotspots can by seen by the phones. When I tried to do the same with an older xiaomi phone (redmi note 4) the 5ghz hotspot shows up on my pc but guess what the phone can not trace the 5ghz hotspots from 9t and note8. Any ideas on how to make the 5ghz hotspot appear ? Sorry for bad English

    Calls muted on Redmi 9

    Posted: 29 Oct 2021 09:49 AM PDT

So my speaker for calls just died. I can hear everything with earphones but nothing on the call speaker. Nothing is muted and I updated to the latest MIUI. Same issue on the apps as on the calls. Tried rebooting and everything but no luck. I bought it just a few months ago, and it never fell no contact with water etc. It was working just fine today and all of the sudden I can't hear anything. Any suggestions or my speaker just died?
