Posted: 01 Oct 2021 04:43 PM PDT Before you say Google Sans I just want to let you know that I know it's GS but there's no font named "Google Sans" inside system/fonts directory. I can only find Roboto, Droid, Noto and Source Sans. I have replaced Roboto-Regular with a different font and it works perfectly but QS panel and Settings are still using Google Sans. | Recommend me a custom ROM for a Galaxy Note5 Posted: 01 Oct 2021 07:23 PM PDT I am looking for a custom ROM I can flash to my Galaxy Note 5. I need it to be able to still work as a phone, so it will need the VoLTE to be working. I also want to be able to use the 4K video camera. I thought I read somewhere that it was difficult to get 4K video working on custom ROMS, Is that true? Do you think custom ROM would be worth it or should I stick with Android Nougat 7.0 ? The main reason I want to try this is because the Nougat update currently broke the VoLTE and I can't downgrade back to Marshmellow. I can still use it for the time being but once the 3G is shut down it will no longer be working calls. So I would like to find a replacement for the stock Nougat which broke the VoLTE. Posted: 01 Oct 2021 09:40 PM PDT Basically, it would be great if before taking a picture, if you could select a label/dropdown which allowed you to prefix the image file with text, so it's easier to categorise the images your take. | Posted: 01 Oct 2021 02:20 PM PDT So the way I have it set up is my mom, dad, and sisters are trying to share all their photo libraries with me but not the other way around. i want to do it via the partner sharing method so that its automated and not have to share a link every time or make their libraries public. (via a link... NOT ideal) Doing it via the app I've found is super convenient because I can just click on the "partner" tab and its automatically populated in there as opposed to opening a browser or having additional login steps. | $300 Bounty - Android Data Recovery Posted: 01 Oct 2021 08:43 PM PDT I will pay $300 to whoever is the first to be able to give me instructions on how to successfully recover some missing photo/video data from my girlfriend's Samsung Galaxy S10. Her internal storage was full, so she inserted an SD card and tried to transfer to it around 9/4. She successfully transferred a several folders through the Gallery app, then attempted a transfer of the "Camera" folder, which had about 7k photos/videos going back to February. She went to sleep mid transfer (more than 2k files transferred). When she woke up about 3k of the 7k files had transferred, several of those of those were corrupted/not visible, and all the other files were missing from the SD card and internal storage. Is there any way to get these back? What we have tried: - [ ] Samsung Cloud - doesn't appear to have any options to restore photos, and I believed it stopped syncing earlier this year anyways. - [ ] Some random Android app (diskdigger I think) that claims to search for deleted files. - [ ] Used Stellar Repair on the handful of corrupted files on the SD but there was really no data to recover there. - [ ] Google Photos - not synced. - [ ] Checked Gallery trash. Not there. Device is NOT rooted. Device only turned on a few times since the incident to attempt recovery. | Samsung Gear S2 Classic Reactivation Lock Bypass help.. please Posted: 01 Oct 2021 04:46 PM PDT Hello, so I bought a used S2 classic everything was fine until I tried to connect my phone to it. This is when it reinstalled the watch to connect to a new phone. It then said that there is a reactivation lock on it, which I'm unable to get rid of. I've bought a Samsung Gear S charger and used it's pins to connect to the pin port of the Gear S2, I then used Odin to install new BL AP CP and CSC files. This did not help me, as I still need to insert an empty.bin file. This is where the issue comes in, I have everything ready for that, but I can't connect the ansicon program to the watch, usually it uses a wireless connection to hook up to it. That I can't do as the watch itself is incapable of doing that, and I'm also unable to get to developer mode. It is supposedly possible to do it via usb, it mentions in on this website regading removing the lock, but I do not know how to pair it to the program itself, as it wants an ip address.. if someone can help me, that would be greatly appreciated! So I updated it and when I tried playing music it would play for a little while then stop. I use audify music player and it will give me a notification that I can use to play or skip music. The new update has made it where it will automatically get rid of the notification and that stops it from playing music. I am getting extremely frustrated and I need some tech help. | Samsung S21U camera application question Posted: 01 Oct 2021 11:28 AM PDT Hello, I used to have my S21U set to open the camera with the power button double press option, but then it started being finiky and opening the camera when I just wanted to shut my screen off. So I turned off that option, but now I'm wondering if I can place a toggle on my lock screen separate from the swipe option so that I can TAP it to open the camera. | DCIM folder empty on Samsung g100 (Android 11) Posted: 01 Oct 2021 11:10 AM PDT I've had my Samsung g100 for a month or so at this point. Initially, I was able to connect my phone to my computer, set the USB connection to transfer files, open my phone's folders in Windows Explorer on my computer, and copy/paste or drag/drop files from my phone onto my computer. As of about a week ago, however, my DCIM folder's contents have become invisible. I open it in Windows Explorer, the folder is empty. I open the DCIM folder on my phone in Astro or Files, the folder is empty. My phone is running Android 11 My photos are still visible in the Photos app, which says they're in /storage/316D-1C18/DCIM/CAMERA/. So, I know the files are there. They're just invisible for some reason. Things I have tried so far:
No luck. I've found a bunch of videos and posts about other phones and/or other android versions having similar problems, but very few identical to mine (empty DCIM) and none with my version of Android. As a workaround, I set my camera app to save photos and videos on the SD card. However, I have no idea if that's going to become invisible eventually itself, so I'd like to find out if there's an actual solution. Thank you for reading, please let me know if you know of a fix. | Various issues on my LG android phone Posted: 01 Oct 2021 07:57 PM PDT I don't even know where to begin so I'll just give you the fast facts: -i have been enjoying my LG G8X ThinQ dual screen for over a year, my first android device ever. I listened to hundreds and hundreds of hours of music on it, via Bluetooth and wired into headphones or my car's aux. This never caused me issues apart from when my old beat up Sennheiser hd450bt headphones act up and won't pair -i recently got a Bluetooth adapter for my car and it seemed to not be an issue -maybe a week after purchasing the adapter I'm suddenly having a mountain of problems. These include: 1) music not playing through headphones regardless of which type is connected. Either plays not at all, or through speaker in the phone instead of intended device. 2) volume levels are too quiet no matter what, or fluctuate 3) adjusting volume buttons brings up the phone icon as if I am in a phonecall even if I am simply listening to music and nothing else, I have to manually expand the volume control menu to adjust music volume 4) phone will connect to Bluetooth device be it my sennheisers or my car Bluetooth adapter but not send audio 5) music sometimes pauses for no reason I posted about the issue in the Sennheiser subreddit, as I originally blamed my aging headphones. One Redditor there suggested that it's a consequence of syncing multiple Bluetooth devices. Unpairing them has seemingly not helped. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening or what I can do about it? It's beyond infuriating for me not being able to have my usual listening experience [link] [comments]  |

| [Pixel 4a 5g] Backup data with broken screen (only touch-function working) Posted: 01 Oct 2021 06:07 PM PDT I cracked my screen, replaced it on my own with a guide and probably messed something up, because the screen is still completely black and only the touch-funtion is working. Is there any way to get my data off my phone? I already blindly tried to enable USB-transfer without any success, obviously ;) Sadly I'm also sure that USB-Debugging is disabled and I didn't do a backup to the cloud. HDMI doesn't work. I wanted to send my Pixel in but it states that they will wipe the phone before repairing it. Do you guys have any advice? [link] [comments]  |
| Recovered my wife's stolen phone (thanks local PD!). But now I have a question Posted: 01 Oct 2021 05:22 PM PDT A few weeks ago my wife had her phone stolen, a Note 9. We opened a police report (because they fraudulently use her bank card) and gave the police all the info needed. I remotely wiped the phone with the Find My Phone app. What really killed my wife was she lost all her pictures of our daughter from the past ~2 years. After a lot of tears she wrote it off as a total loss. Well, yesterday we got a call from the police station that they actually recovered the phone and made 2 arrests! They'll be charged with a felony due to the use of out check card. Anyways I'm getting off track. Now that I have the phone in my possession is there ANY way possible I can try to recover the lost photos? My wife feels so bad/dumb that she didn't have Google photos turned on. That's the first thing she did when she got her new phone. I know it's a complete longshot, but I have to TRY to get these photos back for her. But when I have it set to "Keyboard," voice doesn't work at all. Clicking the microphone icon makes the keyboard disappear/ reappear. Saying "ok google" brings up text search. I was able to keep the keyboard as my default input on my old phone while still being able to use Ok Google. Both Assistant and my keyboard (gboard) have microphone permissions and I did the voice training already. Any idea? [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 01 Oct 2021 10:13 AM PDT I have installed Arrow OS on my xiaomi mi 10 lite, and it's pretty great overall, the only real issue that I have is that the recent apps menu is just awful, the app windows is just enormous and takes 80% of the space on the screen, so I can only see one app at a time and like 10% of the previous app. I tried other launchers but that doesn't seem to do anything anymore. Does anyone know if it's possible to to customize the recent apps so they don't look as big? [link] [comments]  |
