NOBODY likes the red "1" on the clock, and them forcing this on users for the sake of branding doesn't seem like a great move. The question is, should I get the 9 (or maybe even the 9 Pro) or wait for the OnePlus 10 to come out? Is the 9 series worth it? To further clarify, I heard that the camera one the OnePlus 9 series was not meeting expectations even though they collaborated with Hasselblad. I was thinking that since they've been under such heavy criticism, OnePlus will up their game for the upcoming 10 series and come up with an amazing phone and finally make the most out of their partnership with Hasselblad. Posted: 31 Aug 2021 05:18 PM PDT After hard fought war with the issues, just a day before my xperia 1 iii was supposed to be shipped, i followed an advice from a fellow subreddit user and updated my Google play settings from settings. Heating issues were fixed in last update, this Google play settings update fixed all the notification issues, and goes for a friend of mine (op9p too). Cancelled xperia and i think I'm now good to go with 9 pro. [link] [comments]  | ||

| Posted: 31 Aug 2021 04:59 PM PDT Does anyone have a recommendation for a charging cable that works with warp charging? I'm still using my OnePlus 5 and the cable broke a while ago. I've been using a basic USB C cable since, but I miss warp/dash charging. I'll probably buy another OnePlus phone in the future so anything that works with my current brick and ideally a future OnePlus phone is good. I read that most tempered glass options won't work really well because of the curved display, so the whitestone dome is the only real option left (unless I buy cheaper uv protectors) I never applied a uv protector. I realised that when I am using them on my laptop, the wear detection feature does not work properly. It works well to pause the video when i take them out of my ears, but when I put them back in the video does not resume. Also the feature is not based on motion sensors(which would mean the music/video would pause/resume even when I moved my earbuds freely in air) which was the case with my previous jabra buds. | Posted: 31 Aug 2021 06:02 AM PDT I just got the phone last night, used it briefly, and realized it has 4 hours left according to the battery settings. I didn't think anything of it because I was doing some pretty battery intensive stuff like downloading all the apps I usually use. Around 50% I popped it on the charger. The next morning, the battery is at 100% and I just hope it works better. It does, kinda. Originally after use for a couple of minutes it said the same thing, 4 hours till fully drained. After using the phone to look into the problem and see if anyone else was having it, the battery now says it has 11 hours left. Will this continue to get better or should I look into the warranty? Also, the drain seems rather consistent when idling, running hot in my pocket, does anyone know why or how I might fix this? Any info helps, thanks. [link] [comments]  | ||
| [OP6] YouTube download storage issue after updating to Android 11 Posted: 31 Aug 2021 05:29 AM PDT I have YouTube Premium and had many hours of videos downloaded. When I updated my OnePlus 6 to Android 11, suddenly it could not find any of the downloaded videos. I deleted them in-app, but going to view properties of the YouTube app still says there's 33gb of storage being used, no matter how many times I clear storage cache.
Any solutions to this? I'm 90% sure that there is just 33gb of dead weight that was my YouTube downloads, and now after the update for some reason it is looking in a completely different place and also won't delete them. [link] [comments]  | ||

| Posted: 31 Aug 2021 08:56 AM PDT Hi everyone, I recently got a fancy new external SSD that has a USB C connector. (should support 10 gbps transfer) It came with a USB-C to USB-C and a USB-C to USB-A cable. I initially formatted it to NTFS on my Windows PC and did some successful speed and transfer testing. I then connected it via the 'USB C to C' cable to my OnePlus 8. It recognized it without any issue and I could traverse the folders. It was when I tried to transfer a large file (2GB .MP4) from my phone to the SSD that I had issues. It started of pretty fast, but halted around 600 - 700 MBs into the transfer. There, it just hangs (seemingly forever). I thought this was caused due to NTFS being a bit special, so I reformatted it to exFAT. Unfortunately, this gave the same issue. I have already tried the following: - Flipping the connectors around (Both sides and flipping the cable itself etc. pretty much all possible combinations) The weird part is, that it sometime does work! For unexplainable reasons, I can transfer the full file at full speed without issue. But when I unplug and plug it back in, I have the same issue. I have yet to find some correlation on when it does and when it does not work. Also, using a USB C hub (3x USB3.0, SD Card & HDMI) seems to work reliably when I then connect to the SSD via the USB-C to USB-A cable. So the connection goes: Phone (USB-C) -> Hub (USB A) <- (USB C) SSD. I already tried searching around about this issue by using either the phone name, android version etc. but I couldn't really find anything related. This one seems slightly similar, but this uses OTG and I think that this is not really the case here (OTG option is not enabled at least). I assume this is using some other USB mass storage connection system. (Feel free to correct me here) Unfortunately, nothing useful was responded to that post, only some guy that suggests it is 'normal' which is beyond ridiculous. (At least for one big file) So yeah, does anyone have an idea what is going on here. This is my first Android device (coming from an iPhone 6), so I may be missing something basic here. Also feel free to go into technical detail, I can handle it. (Checking logs or something like that).
