Posted: 28 Aug 2021 07:22 PM PDT Anybody know or use a battery limiter for windows? I have tried the the Battery limiter by Robotonfire. I really dont like it. All it does is it flashes on your screen letting you know youve reached your limit. Its not what im looking for. I want an app like that to stop charging at a set threshold once reached. And for the love of god not flash uncontrollably in your face. so annoying . lol. [link] [comments]
My windows just updated itself to 10 S Posted: 28 Aug 2021 06:46 PM PDT My Windows dual boot on my linux machine just updated this morning. for context its a unverified copy that i mostly use for testing, so i only really turn it on a few times a month to make sure something I wrote works. This morning it ran an update (nothing unusual) when it booted itself up it locked itself into "S mode" and broke everything installed on that machine. anyone else experienced this? what in all hell was Microsoft thinking pulling this stunt? Is there any app that can automatically changes animated wallpapers? Posted: 28 Aug 2021 06:41 PM PDT I've found something called chameleon, and it can change wallpapers depending on the time of day and other things, but it doesn't support animated ones. Are there any apps that do? [link] [comments]
For Those Experiencing Timeouts/Reboots Posted: 28 Aug 2021 06:14 PM PDT There is a sneaking suspicion the problem is a low level issue with a recent Windows Update being incompatible or buggy with AMD drivers. The issue's expression is being empirically figured out across multiple random people to be directly tied to system responsiveness, or rather, DPC latency. Doing small things like tweaking OCs are tangentially affecting the issue as they affect at a low level, timing of the system as a whole. Quick "shitty" workarounds include:
Sadly it looks like we'll have to wait for an eventual patch from Microsoft to fix this regression most likely. [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Aug 2021 10:10 AM PDT Hi, Not really a tech support question but I'd just want to know if I'm the only one having the issue. I recently updated two windows 10 computers to 21H1. Everything seems to work just fine except one thing : On both computers, when I begin a defender quick scan, it gets stuck at '50%', I can get to 100k files even though it should've stopped way before. I know it's a bug cause I did a scan before updating and it completed in 10 seconds. The laptop that is still on 20H2 completes the scan with no issues. Am I the only one having this bug ? Posted: 28 Aug 2021 03:39 PM PDT It's like Microsoft went back in time from flat with windows 9x releases, blue with windows XP, and shiny glass with vista and seven THEN back in time to flat and grey like windows 95/98 WHY??? And do you think older designs may return in the future one day? Ok, NOW I can say BYE. Gotta catch up on some z's. [link] [comments]
Windows 10 and BSOD (A love Story) Posted: 28 Aug 2021 03:24 PM PDT This is my first post in this community, so I apologize if I make a mistake. With the imminent arrival of Windows 11 in a few months (although that may change), I know that many of us have high expectations and some of us have had the opportunity to test the new features through Windows Insider. In my case, as a Windows user, I had the good fortune to experiment with XP, Vista, 7, 8 (and 8.1) and currently with 10, as Windows evolved this removal and added new functionalities. That for better or for worse as users we end up adapting, so my question is the following, why isn't there an intuitive and simple way to solve problems related to BSOD? I know in some cases it is obvious to find the root of the problems, but in others and from my perspective it is chaos. I know that testing in many hardware variants must be somewhat complicated for Microsoft, but that I remember in Windows XP, 7 and even 8 this happened in a lesser way (at least in my case), every day we have new and better technologies. In spite of everything I know that what we create as humans is not perfect but I know that you can invest in improving that aspect to achieve stability (something that I highlight from other operating systems) or perhaps the task is too complex to carry out. So what do you guys think about it? I should mention that I use translate so apologies for the case and it is not too much to wish you a good day. [link] [comments]
A question about snappiness for those who have tested out Windows 11. Posted: 28 Aug 2021 09:25 AM PDT There are two main things in the upcoming Windows 11 that I'm curious to see how well they operate: 1) How snappy are the right click menus and do you notice a delay (folder icons, taskbar, desktop, etc)? Is it noticeably better than W10? 2) How quick does the file explorer open? Is it so noticeably better than W10? I ask these questions because they have been an absolute black eye in the era of Windows 10 on all ranges of hardware I've used, both slow and quick machines. Older versions of Windows performed these things better than we remember. It's a specific set of questions that I don't think YouTubers and general reviews won't cover but thought you guys might have some input. I love Windows and am really eager to see if these things have gotten better. [link] [comments]

Does Windows 10 have an app lock? Posted: 28 Aug 2021 01:11 AM PDT I use chrome and lot's of websites are logged into that, I was wondering if there is any app lock built in Windows 10 to lock it, any other software would also work. [link] [comments]

Posted: 27 Aug 2021 11:41 PM PDT That is if I'd press something like win+left it would focus a window on the left, if I press win+right (or its analog), it would switch to the right. Just coming from Linux and if I'm won't find a way to do that, I will probably switch back [link] [comments]
