Phone has been downloading random zip files.

    Posted: 28 Jul 2021 03:42 PM PDT

Hello everyone, my mom's phone has been doing this for like a month (i just noticed now because she asked me about something) and there are over 200 of them , their names are "00000000-a three digit number .zip" and are located in Download/MiuiFastConnect , for what i've heard this folder stores bluetooth stuff, but why there's a lot of those files?

preinstalled antivirus found nothing the same applies for playprotect, and the phone has the developer confings disabled.

normally i would scan them with virus total but i don't know if the files have any personal info.

Also the phone is slow as hell now (but i don't know if these two things are correlated)

Mi 11 ultra 8gb Vs 12gb ram any difference?

    Posted: 28 Jul 2021 01:45 AM PDT

Not too fussed about 250gb storage Vs 500 but the ram concerns be a little.

12 GB version is $200 more expensive, is it worth it? or just stick with 8GB RAM?

I have already seen people having this problem, is there any other fix beside rebooting my phone and cleaning my speakers? I would like to try it all before I take it on a repair.

Weird way I uninstalled Mi Credit

    Posted: 28 Jul 2021 01:48 PM PDT

So, I got constantly bombarded by the System app updater to update Mi Credit which I disabled since it doesn't work here and wasn't even on the apps screen but the progress bar was stuck on *Pending...* so I thought it's because I disabled the app so it can't update but it was still stuck but now the app was on the home screen but opening it just instantly closed it so I just held it down and was able to uninstall it??? even though it didn't let me uninstall it before and just disable it so that's a way to remove Mi Credit. Hopefully it won't break something

    2 Mi 9 phones , one got 12.5 ,the other didn't

    Posted: 28 Jul 2021 01:12 PM PDT

Hi so me and my dad both use Mi 9 we bought it week apart from each other. Great phones. So recently i got miui 12.5 with new android 11 , i went to check my Dad's phone to check and nothing i thought it is some timing issue. But it has been a month with no update what so ever. Our phones are identical in every way , we bought them from official Mi stores , from the same place , same country/region , same settings and stuff and we are even on the same carrier. So why he isn't receiving the update? How does xiaomi distribute software update , as far as i remember it is based on region

    Posted: 28 Jul 2021 08:23 PM PDT

So I live in Canada and recently my dad's iphone died(it's an extremely old phone) and I was suggesting I could maybe get him a phone like mine. I have Redmi k30 but I was wondering what you guys would recommend. My dad just needs a snappy phone to browse Facebook YouTube and do some basic phone stuff. No games will be played

To buy the Poco F3 or Wait for F3 GT?

    Posted: 28 Jul 2021 08:13 PM PDT

Sorry if this question have been asked before.

okay, so My current phone is Zenfone 5 (2018) and it has the old Snapdragon 636 that I purchased in early 2019. It has gotten slow but at no point where it's unusable. I'm conflicted whether I should buy the F3 now or not. Is the difference really that big and worth the jump?

On the other hand, Xiaomi just launched its Poco F3 GT, Packed with High end mediatek chipset and obviously better camera with higher MP and better results. However, I do not know if this phone will be launched globally or even ships to my country. Should I wait and buy that phone instead?

Lastly, is the Poco F3 camera really that bad? I have read that the camera is not good, but not that bad either. I just don't want to downgrade in camera section since my Zenfone 5 is known for its Camera performance. What do you guys think?

Redmi note 10 pro or Poco F3?

    Posted: 28 Jul 2021 05:57 AM PDT

So after my old phone broke I now need a new phone. I don't really care about the camera of the redmi and I'm not a hardcore gamer either, but I do want something that will last me for a few years. Currently I'm leaning towards the Poco F3.

    Is this a bug?

    Posted: 28 Jul 2021 09:15 AM PDT

My device is not receiving any message notifications for some reason from apps like discord messenger etc (although Twitter messages do work for some reason). I really don't think that it's a problem with the apps themselves or my device since everyone that i know that owns a Xiaomi is facing the exact same issue. For discord it never does push notifications. Messenger very rarely does, but it does the notification sound when i open the app myself and got a message. Are others facing this? is there a fix maybe?

    Posted: 28 Jul 2021 07:39 PM PDT

The phone's storage space is almost full. I have an SD card for it, but the real big files are the apps, and I can't put them on the SD card. How can I install/ move the apps to the SD card?

Usb port is dead, how can I root my Mi A2?

    Posted: 28 Jul 2021 07:38 PM PDT

A few months ago the USB port of my Mi A2 stopped to transfer data but still charges the phone. For this reason i can't use adb tools to flash a custom recovery and roof my phone. Is there anyway i can root the Mi A2 without a computer? Ps: i have already unlocked the bootloader.

Mi 9 SE (MIUI 12.5.1) screen flickers / flashes / lights up while in standby

    Posted: 28 Jul 2021 01:39 PM PDT

Hello Community, has anyone noticed a flicker / flash / lighting up of the screen while the Mi 9 SE is in standby? It's just a quick light up / flash of the screen (completely white) for a split second but very interrupting if the phones just lying around. Got this random "bug" after the last software update from xiaomi and now I'm looking for a solution.

    It happens completely random.

    Any ideas would be appreciated

I just bought a Redmi Note 9 and I can't even use it. The device can't sign in to Google Services so it won't let me even boot the thing. I tried wi-fi, my own mobile network everything. Is there a fix to this?

    Google not working after 12.5

    Posted: 28 Jul 2021 08:27 AM PDT

    Hi there,

My Redmi Note 7 just got an update today and it's currently in the version 12.5.3. I saw that none of my Google apps were working properly and I went to do some research on why this was happening and it seems it was because I bought this phone in China and it is using the Chinese ROM instead of another one, and because of that, Xiaomi is suffering from a similar thing as Huawei.

So I wondered if there is any solution to get Google back working as how it should.

Edit: Also will Xiaomi fix this in the next updates or it is going to stay as how it is?

PSA: The MIUI website makes users download the wrong Mi Unlocking tool, called Batch Unlock

    Posted: 28 Jul 2021 03:06 PM PDT

Universally all Xiaomi bootloader unlocking guides link to this part of the website which is supposed to give users access to the required Mi Unlocking Tool to unlock their device's bootloader.

However, for at least a month or so now, you get the Batch Unlocking tool instead which is useless in this case. You can get the Mi Unlocking from different websites, like Gizmochina for example. It seems to have outdated versions however, but you'll get an option to update it in the settings menu.
