[Tutorial] How to remove Oneplus 9 CPU throttling in blacklisted applications Posted: 10 Jul 2021 08:12 AM PDT How to remove Oneplus performance limiting Disclaimer: I have only tried this on a Oneplus 9 Pro EU model which was rooted. This solution should work on non-rooted phones but I can't guarantee it as I've not tried it myself. Also note that you can mess up your phone by doing this etc and reverting this may not be trivial for you. I'm not responsible for any damage done to your phone. Background: Oneplus has added a system application to its phones named OPOnlineConfig.apk which is the reason why some applications are performance limited. In this application there is a long ~120kb JSON list of all sorts of different application names and different power management profiles which should be applied to them. In there you can find different CPU profiles for Chrome, Snapchat and which applications should not be killed in the background. In this solution we simply remove that system application so no custom profiles are no longer applied to any applications and they can run freely without any custom profiles by Oneplus. Tutorial:
Now you should be good, try running Speedometer test and see if your score increased Heres my score of 115 in Speedometer by doing this and using Omega Kernel with stock ROM https://i.imgur.com/T7M4tz0.jpeg Regular chrome is now running without any limitations being able to use little/medium and prime cores. Prime cores also boost to maximum of 2.8GHz now. Good luck! [link] [comments] |
Finally getting a OnePlus phone Posted: 10 Jul 2021 01:57 PM PDT My information might be old, but I've always thought of the OnePlus as a slightly less expensive enthusiast phone. But I finally ordered a OnePlus, it's the 8T I got a deal on, it's the variant with 12GB ram and 256GB storage. It should be in around the end of the week or early next. I'll be upgrading from my old Samsung Galaxy S6. I'm soooo tired of that phone. It's just gotten slower and slower after upgrading to newer 'droid versions, which for the S6 tops at v7. My battery-life is like a lit fuse on a stick of dynamite, except instead of exploding my phone just dies. While the screen is on, I can literally see the % battery-life counting down one unit per few seconds. Needless to say I'm constantly charging, it's like using a phone in the 1970s. I'll be glad to get away from Samsung bloat-ware and the poor battery life that was never very good even when new. I'm interested to see the effect of a 120Hz display and the speed, I think I'll just be enamored by the speed opening/closing apps and moving around settings. I'm excited to join the ranks of OnePlus users. Anything else I should be aware of coming off years of Samsung S6? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Jul 2021 10:53 AM PDT WTF OnePlus? Can't check for system updates because my device's date and time are incorrect? No, they're not! [link] [comments] |
Installed crDroid due to OOS11 hell Posted: 10 Jul 2021 11:49 AM PDT Just wanted so share my experience, or kinda a rant of OOS and an impression of another ROM. My OOS11 update impressions were initially pretty good, but it soon turned to crap. Apps would black screen, camera would crash making me lose important photos in Instagram and WhatsApp, stock video was laggy, scrolling was laggy, opening apps was laggy, I would miss calls and notifications WHILE USING MY PHONE... and I just put up with it because I didn't want to bother with ROMs anymore. I finally bit the bullet and after an extremely lengthy process (compared to how it was on my previous phones) managed to install crDroid two days ago. I was hesitant to install as I said before... but holy shit. I now realize I was literally using a mid-ranger in disguise all this time. No bugs, no slowdowns, no glitches, better battery WITH AOD than OOS (which didn't have AOD in stable), faster animations and I could go on and on. My phone hasn't felt this smooth in probably forever. There is also the fact that you get root and all the goodies and customization features of the ROM. It also has stock OOS camera and everything works which was the main reason I chose this specific ROM. If any of you are on the fence and OOS is performing like ass, you might want to have a go at installing a custom ROM. There may be some downsides though. Your banking apps may not work, and you might have to do some tinkering to get Widevine back to L1. Fortunately my banking apps work and I don't watch Netflix/DRM content so I'm fine in that regard. TLDR: OOS bad, custom ROM good. [link] [comments] |
I need technical support please. Posted: 10 Jul 2021 02:50 PM PDT Is there a way for me to display the seconds on my clock in the top left of my device, Oneplus 8t, like you can do it with the 7t? [link] [comments] |
OnePlus 6T Screen Off Gestures Not Working Posted: 10 Jul 2021 08:28 PM PDT So I just installed the Oxygen OS 11 Open Beta 1 and so far everything is great and pretty much stable except the screen off gestures. I'm so used to drawing a V for flashlight and so far it doesn't work. Anyone else know a fix or experiencing this? [link] [comments] |
Can you implement another cloud service into the default files application? Posted: 10 Jul 2021 12:54 PM PDT When you open the default file manager from OnePlus, you can see the internal memory and google drive. Is it possible to have another cloud implemented right into the file manager that is not google drive? I want to use Onedrive with my OnePlus 8 Pro [link] [comments] |
Anyone not able to check for updates because it claims date and time are incorrect, but aren't? Posted: 10 Jul 2021 04:09 PM PDT Tried to see if a new security update was available but got that error. Rebooted my 7 Pro but still getting the error. [link] [comments] |
OnePlus 2 water damage - WiFi and Bluetooth unavailable Posted: 10 Jul 2021 03:34 PM PDT Yesterday I got myself into a strong rain while cycling around the city. When the rain got stronger I took my OnePlus 2 out of my unprotected backpack, stowed it away in my rain jacket and only got it out once in a while to navigate. Later in the evening the phone started to vibrate at random, without showing any messages - I quickly figured out that the alert slider seemed to be malfunctioning, and moving it up and down would produce a cacophony of vibrations. Then I realised that WiFi and Bluetooth were unavailable - they were shown as deactivated, but trying to switch them on did nothing at all. Trying to activate them via the quick menu just doesn't do anything, and trying to switch the WiFi on via settings only shows the kind of 'loading bar' rocking forwards and backwards. Network/4G/GPS work fine though. I obviously switched the phone off and on again, but when that did nothing I decided to remove the back-cover to have a closer look, and found big droplets of water sitting underneath it. I wiped them off, switched the phone off, then removed the middle panel that sits between the back panel and the phone's insides and used a blow drier on low heat on it for about 5 min. Afterwards I let it lie around without the back cover for about a day to dry further. While the wild vibrations have stopped (unless I touch the alert slider), neither WiFi nor Bluetooth have returned. I jumped into the factory diagnostics, but trying to run WiFi diagnostics all the phone does is try to switch on the WiFi and failing in the exact same manner as I do. Sooo is there any hope? Any idea whether this can still be fixed? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Jul 2021 03:10 PM PDT On the lock screen the 1 in 01:00 for example doesn't appear in Oxygen OS 11. There's just a blank spot there. Is there a way to fix this? [link] [comments] |
Thinking Of Getting The OnePlus 7T Pro McClaren Edition Posted: 10 Jul 2021 02:29 PM PDT For those that have it, any thoughts? Especially on the battery life? [link] [comments] |

Any good ways to take advantage of the 20:9 display? Posted: 10 Jul 2021 02:01 PM PDT I hadn't purchased a phone since the Galaxy S6 and am finding this aspect ratio rather annoying actually, so I'd like to ask if there's any good way to take advantage of the extra screen real estate that will help change my mind, as I'm likely keeping this phone (OnePlus 8t for at least a few years. Any ideas? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Jul 2021 12:23 PM PDT Just the other day I started having issues with my 7 pro not charging from a USB pd charger unless plugged in and restarted. It also will not recognize any other devices plugged into the USB c port such as my 3.5mm adapter. This issue is not fixed by restarting and is getting very annoying. A normal charger and the warp charger both work fine it's just USB pd chargers. [link] [comments] |
OnePlus 6T Oxygen 11 Open Beta 1 put phone into constant reboots Posted: 10 Jul 2021 08:28 AM PDT Anyone else seen this? I was offered the upgrade to OS 11 this morning and stupidly agreed to it. Now my phone boots, lets me unlock and start using it, and then about 40 seconds after boot it just flashes back to the red-circle-with-white-dots-chasing-around-it boot screen. I've tried clearing the cache. I haven't tried clearing the data partition yet. Hoping there's another option before I go that route. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Jul 2021 04:01 AM PDT Desperately need to switch to a new phone as my current phone's display is glitching like crazy (realme 2 Pro) [link] [comments] |
What is the wattage of the 6T dash charger? Posted: 10 Jul 2021 11:49 AM PDT Basically as the title says, I can't seem to find a reliable number. [link] [comments] |
Spotify does not auto start through BT android auto Posted: 10 Jul 2021 04:09 AM PDT I recently got 9 pro as a gift and have one problem with it: when I start a car, I have to manually launch spotify for it to start playing, while my old samsung s9 would start playing automatically, so I didn't need to pull the phone out of the pocket. However, it does work after short stops, but I can't find a setting that would launch spotify everytime it is connected to the car via bluetooth. I've tried reinstalling spotify and re pairing phone to the car, but it didn't help. [link] [comments] |
How do you turn off parallel notifications? Posted: 10 Jul 2021 05:45 AM PDT Anyone know how to turn off all notifications, but only for parallel apps. When I try, it turns them off for both of the apps. I'd like to receive them from one Instagram app, not both. TIA [link] [comments] |
Does anyone else have poor speakerphone mic quality? Posted: 10 Jul 2021 08:40 AM PDT On speaker phone people complain they can't hear me properly even with the phone close to my mouth. Any fix for this? Seems to effect a lot of models including my OP7. Other people have been complaining too https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/speaker-phone-poor-mic-quality.1062469/ [link] [comments] |
