It's great. I've got no complaints whatsoever.

There's a lot of negativity and complaining on this sub recently, and I just wanted to show that not everyone thinks that way.

Why do so many people dislike OOS11?

    Posted: 31 Jul 2021 04:07 AM PDT

    Like genuinely why?

Personally I prefer it more than OOS10. I understand that there are bugs, that's in every OS, but I haven't experienced anything in OOS11 that would make me want to dislike OOS11.

    OnePlus Nord N10 5G 4 month experience

    Posted: 31 Jul 2021 08:14 PM PDT

    Hey everyone!

I've been looking forward to buy myself an OnePlus phone, but there were 2 major turnbacks for me: 1st, prices for OP flagships just as for flagships in general have become too steep for me as for the resident of the country with developing economy; 2nd, I've been using flagships for my whole life, and my previous device was an iPhone X, so after years of experience with different flagships from different brands, I found myself not using even a half of the potential my phone is capable for, so I decided to switch for a budget device.

And boy oh boy was this a right decision to make. For now, I've been using my Nord N10 5g for 4 month and I'm so so happy. SD 690 handles all the tasks I run on it smoothly, from working apps and social media to photo and video editing and heavy gaming with no lags whatsoever, battery life is incredible (especially noticable switching from a 2 years old iphone) and the screen is massive and responsible, despite I turned off 90hz for battery life sake. Camera is very decent as well, even a stock one, and with GCam installed, it is not too different from a flagship level, video too.

The only inconvenience I've found so far is that LCD screen tends to be too dim when exposed to a bright sun but it still remains overall readable, and there's only about 70 sunny days in year in my country so it is not a big deal for me. If it is for you, I think you should consider a general Nord version or a flagships if it fits in your budget.

Not to mention recent android 11 update, with it my phone runs even smoother before, even tho there's still some early release roughness presents. I was especially glad to see a resizable picture-in-picture mode, before that it was too small on this giant screen.

In conclusion, I think that today you really should ask yourself wether you will actually be able to utilize all of the potential that flagships will give you before buying one. And if you use your phone only for social media, browsing, work and photo, then maybe, just maybe, you should reconsider and spend extra money on something you would actually use.

I switched from Nord to Nord 2, here are my thoughts and controversial opinions on cameras

    Posted: 31 Jul 2021 05:47 AM PDT

tl:dr I liked Nord 2 but didn't feel a completely new experience. It is not a night and day difference from Nord 1 but it's just slightly better. Also, I miss a lot the two old front cameras. New Camera App puts stupid restrictions on the wide rear camera. In the end, should you upgrade from Nord 1? It depends.

Hi! I am a OnePlus user from OP3 in 2016, then I switched last year to the first Nord (8/128GB). I was pretty satisfied with the device but, out of curiosity, I've decided to try the Nord 2 (8/128GB). Here are my thoughts:

    • The OS: I can confirm that, as stated from previous other comments, it is a Color OS with a Oxygen OS skin. I think that it is not a bad news since it is smooth and clean as the the first Nord's ROM. I think that, comparing to the first Nord, the OS is more graphically pleasant and coherent, but not in a drastic way. I think that it is even more stable than before. Old OOS 11 was not so refined and it was also a little buggy, I did not like the upgrade in the first Nord.

    • Notifications: they have a slightly different behavior that I think is inherited from Color OS. Grouping of same apps is weird and, imho, worse. Didn't like this difference.

    • Bluetooth: I rely heavily on Bluetooth because of headphones and Android Auto. The Nord 1 had some weird issues with headphones when connected together with WiFi on. Didn't notice any of that on Nord 2. Much better smooth experience on the new one.

    • Display: it is basically the same. Nord 2 has probably a better color calibration but you have to put the two phones side by side to notice any difference. Very good display imho.

    • Mobile network reception: very good in both.

    • Vibration motor: much better in Nord 2.

    • Speakers: much better in Nord 2 which is also stereo.

    • Performance: well, they are both very fast devices. I do not game heavily so I can't tell any particular difference in the normal experience of use. Nord 1 tended to go very hot in CoD mobile and behave like crazy, Nord 2 seems pretty cold and can be stressed much harder. I am satisfied with the new Mediatek. Nord 2 has also UFS 3.1 memories.

    • Charging: Nord 2 charges crazily fast.

    • Battery: good on both.

    • Camera(s): I know that this will make people a little bit angry but in the end I felt it as a downgrade. I am not one of the people who said that Nord 1 had bad cameras. I shot incredible photos with it. Yes, I know that the main sensors in both front and rear sides are much more superior in Nord 2 but I think that the experience from the first Nord was more fun. The two front cameras from Nord 1 were so funny and so convenient to use when doing wide selfies with a lot of people or when you want to take a picture from interesting backgrounds behind you. Yes, they were inferior, but not that bad. I miss them so much. Also, I relied a lot on rear wide camera on Nord 1 shooting videos and time lapses when driving my motorbike and it was so much funny to exploit its functionalities

On Nord 2 you have a new camera app which, from what I've understood, is ported from Color OS. It is different and, in my experience and taste, a little bit worse. But what drives me crazy are the stupid restrictions on the rear wide camera. In Nord 1 you can shoot wide videos in 1080p 30fps, in Nord 2 you are tied to 720p 30fps (what is this, 2012?). In Nord 1 you can do time lapses with the rear wide camera, in Nord 2 you can't. Color calibration on photos can go a little bit weird when mixing AI and HDR, especially on wide rear camera. I did not feel that on Nord 1.

Videos are incredible on the Nord 2 rear main camera. Stabilisation is crazily good. Videos on the wide camera are sadly bad, a lot more bad from the Nord 1, probably caused to the aforementioned restrictions.

Let me be clear again, main camera in both front and rear are on the contrary, a lot more superior in Nord 2. But Nord 1 had so much funny features that here are absent. In my strict personal experience of use that felt as a downgrade.

In the end, should you upgrade? It depends on you. If you don't game or process hard workloads you will not find that much of a difference in performance, but slight improvements on the general experience. If you use only main cameras and don't care about wide sensors (both front and rear) then you will experience a much better experience. If you, like me, thought that double front cameras were funny, you will miss them a lot. If you, like me, relied heavily on rear wide camera for videos and time lapses, you will feel a lot delusional.

As a conclusion, I remind that these are only my opinions which are generated from personal taste and use. Let me know what you think on Nord 2 vs Nord 1.

Is 11.0.2.1 looking safe right now for the OP7 Pro?

    Posted: 31 Jul 2021 08:33 AM PDT

I'm on 11.0.1.1 and I just got the OTA 11.0.2.1 update. I'm not sure if I should go for it or not though looking at oneplus's crappy update streak. My phone is also not unlocked or rooted or anything so I can't rollback without wiping my data. My Widevine is still luckily L1 so I'm not sure if I should go for the new update or not. Anyone have any advice?

I have a one plus 6T, when should I consider upgrading? Are newer noddles really that much better then what I already have? I'm just curious if I should start saving anytime soon.

    I've had my OP7 (non-pro) for 2 years...

    Posted: 31 Jul 2021 08:43 AM PDT

I bought it brand new. Best phone I've ever had by far. Battery life is amazing, phone never slowed down. 256GB storage is awesome.

This is the first phone I've had where I can leave location, bluetooth, and wifi scanning on without worrying about battery drain. Overnight the battery only drops 3-5% which is the best standby I've seen on an android phone. My battery health is still at 89% according to OP diagnostics app. I think part of this is because of me trying to keep the battery between 10-90% if possible. I'm a heavy user as I also use the phone for work.

If I don't play heavy games I can still get 7-8 hours of SOT. Even though it's a snapdragon 855 it can still max and run Genshin Impact at 60fps if I want to. The stereo speakers are awesome for watching videos and gaming. I like how I can use an HDMI dongle to connect my phone to my tv and use VLC player in cast mode to stream HD shows.

The camera is perfectly fine for my needs, I have gcam if I want a more true to life looking picture. Most people I show the side by side of the same shot taken on the two camera apps tend to prefer the vibrant colors from the default camera.

I'm still on the last update of android 10 as it's been super reliable.

How are your older OP devices holding up?

Any way to find the battery health of my oneplus 9?

    Posted: 31 Jul 2021 01:44 PM PDT

Oneplus diagnostic says my battery is "Null" and gives no other information about it. I have tried all of the versions that exist of oneplus diagnostic.

I got the phone 3 weeks ago and i'm severely disappointed in the battery life of it. I used to have a samsung galaxy s9+ which lasted me 1-2 days with 8-9 hours of screen time. This oneplus 9 barely gives me 3-4 hours of screen time.

When i initially got it the phone literally lost a % of its battery every 15 seconds. I updated the phone and now it lasts for 3-4 hours with the screen on. This includes playing games and browsing chrome. No other phone i have ever owned has had this bad battery life.

Cant return it either cause the company doesnt have a refund policy where i bought it from.

    Is accubattery accurate?

    Posted: 31 Jul 2021 02:34 PM PDT

Just got my oneplus 9 pro and out of curiosity i installed accubattery to check it. It says my estimated capacity is 2026 mah compared to the design capacity of 4500 which seems very unrealistic. I'm not sure if it's a problem with the charger i used since it is the original in the box. I just want to know if anyone else has the same experience.

Backup and restore from a non-admin user

    Posted: 31 Jul 2021 07:05 PM PDT

Just got a Nord 2 and I'm trying to restore data from my 6, however I used a secondary user on my 6, so it won't let me use the OnePlus Clone app or backup through my Google account etc. for some reason. If I can transfer my data from the other user to the admin user and then to my new phone that's fine, I just can't find how to do that if it is possible.

Would really appreciate advice on the best way to do this if anyone has done themselves or can think of something.

A11 update and Gmail notifications fix

    Posted: 31 Jul 2021 06:45 PM PDT

Many people, including me recently received the A11 update on N10 5G and have issues getting Gmail notifications......no notification until opening app manually.

After many setting changes I think I found the issue. It is a workaround as the setting should not be enforced this way. The Lock Screen notification settings (show sensitive only unlocked, don't sensitive, or show all) is the culprit. If you set it to show all then Gmail notifications work.

Is there a concrete solution to one plus 7 pro randomly restarting

    Posted: 31 Jul 2021 06:29 PM PDT

Hello ! I was just wondering if there's a solution to my one plus 7 pro randomly restarting

So I Basically tried everything ie. I looked online and tried those "solutions" but the problem still persist, so then I contacted One Plus support and they said to factory reset my phone which I did, after that I was happy because the problem was gone as far as I knew... But then it happened again today, twice in fact. I looked at reddit posts (again) and what-not and none of them actually have a concrete solution, just some tips to do (which I did).do you guys think there's a solution to this or do I just have to go on living with this problem.

I accidentally changed the home screen, when I changed it back everything looks way different

    Posted: 31 Jul 2021 11:24 AM PDT

I accidentally changed how many icons which can be shown on the home screen from 5x5 to 6x6. I didn't like how it looked so I changed it back. Now the clock widget on the top is way smaller and there's a lot more space between the icons. I didn't change anything at all except for the icon number on the home screen. Any tips on how I can revert this?

Should I upgrade to Oxygen 11? OnePlus 7 user here.

    Posted: 30 Jul 2021 11:53 PM PDT

I just received a notification for a system software update to 11.0.2.1, and I'm not entirely sure if I should go ahead with it. I've read enough and more people saying the cumulative Oxygen 11 updates are ruining their phones and I just don't want to take the risk. Nor do I want to go through the hassle of rolling back to my previous build. Please advice.

Can I disable the notch while having the status bar blacked like the pixels did?

    Posted: 31 Jul 2021 07:46 AM PDT

I remember that the pixels have the option to do this. Is it possible to do this on the OnePlus 8T?

Google assistant already does it. It disables the notch when it activates but all the status icons are up there in the black strip
