Posted: 31 Jul 2021 07:28 AM PDT Is there a reliable/virus free set of ISO's available for out of cycle operating systems (such as XP or 7). Recently had an older laptop finally die and while I've retained the HDD image, I wanted to restore some of the programming for archiving to a VM, and figured a relatively fresh installation was easily enough done for Windows 7/32bit. With product keys in hand, I'm thinking it's as easy as just reinstall and go but didn't know from where to fetch a good ISO set. [link] [comments]

Will you be updating to Windows 11 on launch? Posted: 30 Jul 2021 10:50 PM PDT Windows 11 is on the horizon. But, at the same time, Windows 10 is still to be supported until 2025. My question to you all is, will you upgrade on release? Will you stick with Windows 10? Will you switch to a new OS? [link] [comments]

Is there an equivalent to Hook Productivity for Windows Users? Posted: 31 Jul 2021 08:59 AM PDT Hook Productivity links apps to each other or more or less links your files between apps. Hook Productivity, lets you bidirectionally link files, emails, calendar dates, pdfs, pdf pages, and more for rapid use of sharing and integrated knowledge/workflows (I think). I was wondering if there is something that lets me quickly link emails, documents. Is there something that can do this for windows? [link] [comments]

What happens if windows forces you to update to w11 like they did in the beginning of w10? Posted: 31 Jul 2021 03:41 AM PDT Ok so i was part of the insider preview, since the beginning, when they announced i cancelled the insider preview build because i really don't want to go to windows 11. Except apparently it didn't worked correctly. I wasn't part of the insider program but still got the windows 11 update... and that's where i got scared, i tried everything, their isn't a single option to refuse the update, skip it. I had to join the insider program again and leave, the w11 update disappeared... But now what will happen when they will release the update for everyone? And for those who will ask why i don't want in any way to install windows 11... well it's simple and very stupid. The task bar in windows 11 can't be moved, and doesn't have the toolbar or the link option anymore. My toolbar in w10: https://imgur.com/5krn6BR That's how i've been using the taskbar since the beginning. All my software neatly stored in subfolder on the right and the "link" on the left. In windows 11 this isn't possible. I'm talking about it because i've seen people complain about a lot of stuff but no the lack of options that the task bar in w11 offers you, all the great stuff of the w10 task bar disappeared in w11. So i'm making that post for two reasons, one will we be able to refuse to update to w11? And second most important for me, and hope someone from Microsoft will see my post, Please bring back the toolbar and links to the w11 toolbar. [link] [comments]
How do I change the info about the system? Posted: 31 Jul 2021 03:17 AM PDT So, basically I know all the stuff like "how to change your CPU or GPU name", OEM info, etc. But whenever I want to try and change the Windows OS name to something else, even after I change the logo in Shellbrd and the names in Basebrd, the original OS name and logo still show up (e.g. the name in msinfo32 and the logo in winver). Is it anyway possible to change them? And in what versions of Windows is it possible, if it isn't possible in the latest update of Win10? [link] [comments]
Will an iso with install.wim , not install.esd ?? Posted: 30 Jul 2021 08:20 PM PDT I was learning how to download and create windows 11 iso from uupdump.net. Now, in some places people are leaving the option "solid ESD compression" under conversion options and some people are keeping it. The iso downloaded from not checking the "solid ESD compression" contains install.wim but no install.esd. My question is will this one work? I mean wheather the iso without install.esd wil work or not. [link] [comments]
