| Posted: 11 Jul 2021 07:36 PM PDT Apparently, MacOS has a pretty powerful app called preview that's built in. You can do a lot with it, including redacting pdf files. Does Google have an equivalent app for their ecosystem with similar capabilities? On Android, the Drive app is the default viewer, but it doesn't seem to be able to do anything beside just viewing the file. [link] [comments]  |

Any sort of voice services cause it to drop the LTE connection and change to something less. Tons of articles about limiting data use, but I want to do the opposite. Is this possible? I don't want any non-data services causing it to drop the LTE connection. Heck I don't want voice services to work at all really. Just the data stuff would be ideal. [link] [comments]  |

| Android noob, keeping screen on for kiosk mode Posted: 11 Jul 2021 06:48 PM PDT I received a Nexus 7 for free. It has version 11 on it. I'm using it as a Home Assistant control and would like it to always be on it to automatically be on the HA screen if someone taps the screen (maybe after a long time out). I enabled developer mode and got the "stay awake" option on but it seems every several hours the Nexus reverts to the Lock Screen and I must input my PIN and select the app again. Any thoughts? | Need help restoring contacts on new phone. Posted: 11 Jul 2021 06:31 PM PDT I bought a S21 Ultra and had all my data transferred from my S10+. My dad wanted my old phone so instead of factory reset, I just manually deleted my contacts on my old phone not knowing it would also delete my contacts on my new phone. I tried to restore my contacts on my new phone but half of them aren't appearing. Before clicking restore it shows me that I have 1000+ contacts to restore, but after clicking restore, I only have 400 contacts (which I already had before restoring). Why am I not getting all of them back? I'm confused and really need my contacts back! [link] [comments]  |
| Audio quality is bad during calls. Posted: 11 Jul 2021 01:52 PM PDT Whenever I'm in a call, if there is a music or a video playing the audio quality goes to hell. I know that when you are in a call using a Bluetooth device, it goes mono so the waves can pass mic input and audio at the same time. But what if I'm using a headphone in the 3.5mm jack and the phone's mic, what's the excuse? I just want to be able to chat in discord while watching something or listening to some music with decent audio quality in both places man. [link] [comments]  |

I tried using "Google find my device" and it tracked down my phone so I know it's in my house, it gave me the option to ring my phone (even if it was on silent) but it wouldn't ring, it just said "connecting" for half an hour. Then I realized it was because of the heat. Now, if this phone which is great by the way, has issues with CPU, can OTA update fix it? I did factory reset and all recommendation. It has been as high as 39 GB before. I've looked online and it seems to be related to Android's AB Partition system. | Help unlocking AT&T Samsung Note 10 Posted: 11 Jul 2021 03:44 PM PDT Hi there - Sorry in advance if this is long winded. I bought a Samsung Note 10+ in September 2019 and AT&T had a promotional for BOGO. My friend needed a new phone and the sales rep told me I'd be able to unlock the extra Note 10. Flash forward to current date and that extra phone is still locked, brand new and unused. I have been told so many conflicting messages and going in circles forever. I dont know what to do. I am here seeking real advice or experience. My friend has a Samsung Note 4 hanging on by a wire and at T-mobile. We really want to get this Note 10 unlocked for him. I still owe for atleast 5 more months on my phone (10+). ATT says if I pay off my phone I will owe for 2nd phone... which currently is being "paid for/BOGO" by having $30 credited on our bill. | I need an "airpods" recomendation Posted: 11 Jul 2021 03:32 PM PDT So i use android and im tired of using headphones with cables, mostly because i usually sleep with them on, and i end up breaking them due to tensing the cable while sleeping and eventually they stop working. So i wanted a wireless option, but now i find out from a friend that the airpods, fake ones included, or for example the ones from brands like huawei or oneplus, they all include touch sensible buttons on each airpod, and thats a no for me cause obviously while i sleep the fact that they are touch sensible are going to be pausing and unpausing or switching music while i move. I dont need those buttons and ive been reading online, the only ones that have the option to turn off those buttons are the original airpods, and only if you are using an iphone. So i need some help finding a good option for airpods with no touch sensible buttons for android (preferably fake ones, or from brands like oneplus they are arround 40 bucks im not trying to spend 200 on them lol). It overlays everything, other apps, and videos too. I can't figure out how to get rid of it. I was trying to use the s-pen on my Samsung note9 to do it's OCR thing on the numbers and somehow ended up with this floating picture that won't go away. | Is there any way to mute the Google Assistant/Voice to text BEEP at start and finish? Posted: 11 Jul 2021 12:34 PM PDT When you trigger the Google Assistant or Voice to text Mic it makes a loud and annoying beep at the start and finish. Even more annoying is on my S10 when I turn the notification volume down to almost nothing the beep is still very loud, which I'm assuming has been done on purpose for some reason. I'm on Android 11 Sasung S10e with no root, is there anyway to completely disable the beep apart from turning the system volume down to zero? I'd really appreciate some help because the beep is driving up the wall, especially late at night or when I'm in an area where you have to keep your voice down. Samsung has a feature to control the volume of individual apps, giving Gboard a custom volume control did nothing and it didn't have an option to add the Google app which is what I'm assuming is triggering the beep. Also tried skipping it but they say "The way you restored factory settings may pose security risks. Please verify your identity with your Google account. Please connect to the internet first". Tried everything from factory resetting again to wiping cache partition to solve this. [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 11 Jul 2021 03:18 PM PDT I've made smart lock location work within almost half a square mile around where I live but it does not matter, the phone still locks itself most of the time. I really wish I could just tell it to stay unlocked while connected to my wifi network or something else to just make it freaking work. Short of leaving bluetooth on 24/7 and something plugged in and always connected is there anything that can be done in any app to make smartlock less trash? [link] [comments]  |

Posted: 11 Jul 2021 11:24 AM PDT I'm looking into doing some reverse engineering research on an Android app, however, upon connecting my android phone to my computer and going to the directory: I haven't been able to find any file or directory related to this particular android application. I've also checked the I was under the impression that when downloading an app from the play store, a file is created in one of these directories. Am I missing something or could it be somewhere else that I am not looking at? Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. | Help! concern about stolen phone Posted: 11 Jul 2021 11:07 AM PDT So my friends phone( Realme 6 os- maybe android 10) has been recently stolen with the sim card inside, she suspects some of her malicious friends with ill intent to hack it. The phone contained some of her explicit photos and videos and we are concerned if somebody can hack into it and get to that content and how easy would that be to do? And can we disable it remotely somehow from here? The content is in the app signal and its chats which is locked by a pin code. The phone is also locked by a 4 digit pin and finger print. | Posted: 11 Jul 2021 10:49 AM PDT So i'm using this chinese phone and it has MT6735 , i can't find original rom or scatter files for it the company had stock rom for most of their phones expect mine i found a similar phone to mine with the same cpu but my screen is 5'5 and that firmware is 5'0 both are 1280x720 i flashed it with sp flash tool , everything works correctly but the screen is buggy , when the phone off too in recovery and everything it's fuzzy , pixelated a lot of weird color lines appear and disappear , text is separated by tiny vertical lines and horizontal , i can't find my original rom so this one is my only option , i tried to change dpi using ADB form cmd but it just changed the size of things the problem wasn't fixed, i took screen shots inside the phone and sent them to pc and they looked normal with no issues [link] [comments]  |
