Where are the notes from the "Notes" app from Android 8.0.0 stored?

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 02:16 PM PDT

So I got a new phone, One Plus Nord, with Android 11. My old phone is a Samsung Galaxy S7 with Android 8.

I have like 60+ text notes in there in the Notes app (that comes by default with the phone) with lots of important stuff and I'd like to import them to my new phone.

However in the Notes app itself there is only a "Share" option, and even worse, you can only use it when selecting only 1 note. If you select multiple of them you only have the option to delete them or move them to a folder.

I also tried Synchronizing my google/samsung accounts but there was no option to sync the notes app. And I already tried syncing everything anyways and it didn't copy my notes.

So I was thinking about just going to the file explorer and getting the text notes from there so I can store them in my computer.

Anyone knows the directory in which they are stored?

Approximately how many apps can remain open in the background in a phone with 6gb ram? How many would a phone with 8gb ram be able to hold?

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 09:07 PM PDT

Approximately how many apps can remain open in the background in a galaxy with 6gb ram? How many would remain open with 8gb ram?

Please let me know if you know this specifically. For example: 7-8 apps can remain open on a 6gb phone and it will probably not be able to hold 9 apps in memory. I know it will vary for different phones and different apps. I want to know about a typical or a specific usage scenario. Any information will be useful. Just want to know what others have experienced with their phones so that I can decide if I should go for a 6gb or 8gb variant.

Why do I need to pull down twice to see my media controls?

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 08:00 PM PDT

I have a Pixel 3. To get to my media controls, I need to pull down twice. I've looked everywhere and cannot find a reason they don't show right away. There's no setting anywhere. Surely they don't intend that you need to pull down twice?

Related issue. Media controls show for apps I've closed. If I close YouTube, it's because I don't want to see it or use it. Why does it still show in my media controls? The only thing I've found that works is to force stop the app, but that should not be necessary.

Help me find a course as a beginner in android dev with previous programming exp!

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 11:37 AM PDT

Hello, I have been looking for an android development course using java all day and I cant seem to find a good one. I have previous web dev exp, cpp, c.

From what I read I need one that is up to date, teaching in java(my requirement) android 11, and that makes things clear you know.

Theres this yt video fromfreecodecamp but I dont know if it's up to date and enough, 20 hours seems a bit short https://youtu.be/fis26HvvDII

The popular courses on udemy are about android 7 and I saw people saying that's not a good choice. Same thing about Googles nanondegree.

Theres this udemy course that ticked the boxes but I cant find some honest reviews https://www.udemy.com/course/full-android-course-with-14-real-apps-42-hours/

    Any help?

    Change wifi to 2.4?

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 02:27 PM PDT

Hello reddit community. I'm trying to pair some devices with my phone (S10). However, the devices work off 2.4 vs 5.0. Is there a way to force that? I don't see an option to.

Is it possible to connect an external mic to my phone and use it for calls?

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 06:25 AM PDT

I have a high end Neumann microphone and was wondering if I could somehow connect it to my phone and use it as an alternative to the built-in microphone. It has an XLR port and is powered by an audio interface.

Alternatively, I'd be looking at using VOIP service if that isn't possible.

Do you use expandable memory/storage on your phone?

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 11:06 AM PDT

How is your experience using an SD card to add more storage to your phone? Is it seamless? Or is there a lot of fiddling involved? (I mean after installing it. Do you always have to fiddle with settings and tell apps which storage to use?)

Many years ago, I bought a phone not enough storage, maybe 32 GB, because it was expandable. When I added an SD card, I seem to remember it being a pain to use. Can't remember exactly how. But maybe it was like I had to tell each app where to store things. Like the podcast app would fill up the internal storage, then think the phone was full. It wouldn't automatically start using the SD card. So I ended up having to always think about which storage my apps were using, and constantly fiddle with settings. Not seamless.

    Is that what it's like?

I'm hoping not. I hope it's just you insert the SD card, maybe do something in settings, and then never have to think about it again.

Android S21 5G Getting Hot Hot Hot!

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 04:42 PM PDT

This is a new device that Telus gave to me on a 2 year plan. I've had it for maybe 3 months now. The battery started getting really hot a few weeks ago and it seems to be getting worse now! I can't even play a regular low requirement game without getting the high temp battery warning (41 degrees). If I leave the screen on without any apps running in the background: It stays at around 36 degrees.

Granted it is hot in Canada right now but these temps are based on today's temp of +25 celcius, inside my non-air conditioned house.

Should I attempt to contact Telus? Should I contact the manufacturer? I have the manufacturer 2 year warranty but you have to send it to them, live without a device for who knows how long and HOPE that they determine it's a manufacturer flaw that they're willing to fix for you.

Should I take it to a certified local shop and just suck up the battery replacement fee?

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!

I have a samsung A70 and this morning everything was working fine until it was not and due to some reason my phone switched into vibrate mode and wont make any sound. It wont go into sound mode at all. It seems like the sound mode is just off the table. I can attach an image or a video of me trying to put phone back on sound mode if needed. Tactics I have tried till now are :- Multiple reboots and restarts. Took phone off cover to make sure buttons are not stuck(they are not) Cleaned headphone jack and tried different headphones in Tried Bluetooth connected wireless headphone(no sound in them through phone) uninstalled recently updated or installed applications

    Sites with Oppo stock roms?

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 04:18 PM PDT

Specifically for the Oppo A94 (not 5G) CPH2203_11

I got a hit on google searching "cph2203 firmware", but I'm hesitant to download from the first 4 links. They seem shady.

apologies if the flair isn't right. It just seems fitting since it has the word "Rom" in it.

    Am I hacked?

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 08:15 AM PDT

During the last two months i am having captcha problems with my Android 9 phone. Sometimes there's a captcha request when I'm using google search (on browsers, not logged in) but the biggest problem is a YouTube alternative app called NewPipe which became unusable with constant captcha when you click any video and when you solve it you can't play video because it will instantly ask captcha again. This is driving me nuts and lately I'm having this strong feeling that I'm hacked or there's some malicious app on my phone that's sending allot of requests. Is there an app or another thing to know that I'm hacked or there's a malicious app installed. Thank you for your attention.

So did Samsung make it so that you are required to use a Samsung account simply to be able to transfer files using a Windows PC now?

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 01:04 AM PDT

Plugging in the phone does nothing - no detection by Windows, and in the Settings, the top item is "Samsung Account" which prompts you to log in and agree to everything.

    I also found this:

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-update/samsung-electronics-co-ltd-usb-216140-and-samsung/82a367f3-2d2f-4cb9-9fd5-87eb1b0d131a

(Scroll down to the post beginning with "This will be a long answer.")

I don't want to use a Samsung account. Is there any way around this?

Moto e4 plus to mp3 player

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 02:43 PM PDT

This is my old cellphone, instead of throwing it away I want to turn it into an mp3 player. Most of the internal storage is occupied by the os (android 7.1 1). I've had this project in the back of my mind for a while now. I was wondering if there is a way to overwrite the current os as to make it lighter, as well as bahaving strictly as an mp3 player. I am rather new to modding old devises, so any piece of information will be appreciated, as well as alternative solutions

HOW COULD THIS BE? I Could Really Use Some Guidance

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 01:53 PM PDT

I purchased a new Galaxy A10e from Metro on January 3, 2020. On October 3, 2020 -- 274 days after purchase -- I navigated to the "total call time" option of the menu within the native phone app, and immediately felt need to open the calculator app. It showed total call time -- both incoming- and outgoing -- to be nearly 12,671 hours. Again this 274 days, or 6,576 hours, after purchase of new phone. Also, it showed total amount of incoming and outgoing calls to be 220,960, or just over 806 calls per day, each of the 274 days I had owned phoned. Can anyone tell me how this happened? Metro has told me to contact Samsung, and Samsung has told me to contact Metro.

    Phone not charging

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 07:28 AM PDT

Hello everyone I have a galaxy s20 plus and recently does not want to charge and will say check charger/USB port for moisture. It has not been near water nor is the charger broken. I've confirmed the charger works and the charging block. I've tried restarting my phone and it will charge but then goes back to the moisture notification. I can still charge via wireless charger but takes a long time. Anyone know of any fixes? Any help would be appreciated thanks!

    Autocomplete on lock screen

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 07:03 AM PDT

I have a pixel 3a, and after running an android 11 update today I've noticed that the autocomplete bar on the keyboard now appears on the login/lock screen and will start trying to autocomplete my password as I type it. Is there anyway to disable this? I use the stock software keyboard. Seems like a bit of a security issue.
