| Posted: 28 Jul 2021 06:35 PM PDT I accidentally updated an app I absolutely refused to update for the past 4 years, so I uninstalled it and went back to my APK I have stored away. However, whenever I try to open it, a window appears for a second, then automatically closes out. When I try to open it again, it doesn't do anything. Installing from unknown sources is enabled, and yet it refuses. I've restarted my phone to no avail as well. I tried finding my answer on Google but no answers it had were of any help. I'm on Android 8.1.0 on a Blackberry Key2 LE. Any advice? [link] [comments]  |

When I first start google maps it thinks i'm in toronto. If I give it enough time it finds the proper location. I moved to a rural area that has almost no cell signal and almost no WiFI access points to help it find a quick location. I'm connecting via my home internet WiFi only. Is there a way I can block whatever "hint" it's using that makes it think I'm in Toronto before it gets a more precise GPS lock? [link] [comments]  |

Posted: 28 Jul 2021 10:39 PM PDT So i saw that there is a possibility to connect a simple pc usb webcam to android phone via usb adapter, and i was wondering if anyone makes good external usb cameras specifically for android phones ? You know, something with bigger sensor (1", aps-c, or even full frame), better lenses and so on, it could easily be relatively cheap, and the same time put to shame all newest samsungs, pixels and iphones, low end phones could make better photos than pixel 15 or iphone 20. | How to install large app on sd card? Posted: 28 Jul 2021 09:25 PM PDT Hi, I wonder if someone can help me with this please.......I have a samsung j5 cellphone running android 7.1. It currently has 2.7gb space in internal storage. I have an app which is supplied to me on usb drive that is 5gb in size. I inserted a new 32gb SD card and formated it for portable storage which is the only option given. I then connect the usb drive via otg cable and tap on the app to install it. It starts to install but after a while shows an out of space message. How can I tell it to install the app on the SD card? I have even enabled developer mode and force allow apps on external but nothing seems to work. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. [link] [comments]  |

I'm very happy with the results, but now I want to use a real VPN with a similar solution at system level without loosing a powerful tool like this one. As far as I know, you can only have one VPN instance at a time. In iOS I can use a real vpn instance + another local vpn for adblocking (AdBlock app with it's local VPN + A real VPN service). I found out that it was lock to AT&T Network after receiving it but when I bought it from Wal-Mart it was titled as Unlocked. So I went to unlock phone on their site. All they ask for is the IMEI number and then it takes a week for them to tell you if they were able to unlock it. I got an email today saying it cannot be unlock because: This device is no longer actively supported. There is no unlock code available for this device. Five unsuccessful unlock attempts permanently locks the device to AT&T Network. I never attempted 5 times to unlock the phone. All I did was give them the IMEI number. I tried putting in an SD card, and I formatted it as internal storage, but it just put around 5 gigs on the SD and now the storage is full again. There is about 2 GB left of photos on internal but it won't move them to the SD. I think it is better to format the SD to portable so I can easier move the pictures, but is that the best thing to do? | Posted: 28 Jul 2021 11:20 AM PDT Hey all, I have a bit of a predicament. I managed to smash the screen of my Samsung S20 FE during a drunken adventure at the weekend. The screen is completely busted and won't turn on at all, but the actual phone is still working (it vibrates for notifications, charges up etc no problem). It's taking a few days for my insurance to process the claim, and I need to check my texts for 2FA codes in the meantime. But it's impossible while the screen is busted. My question is this; is there a way I can mirror the phone's screen to my PC or TV so I can navigate it with a mouse and keyboard for example? Normally this is easy to setup when the screen is working... but at this time I have no way to unlock it, I'm running blind with the screen failing to turn on. If I can mirror the screen to my TV or PC, I will be able to unlock it to see my 2FA codes while I'm waiting to get it fixed. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments]  |
| Google Podcasts Shows up Twice in Recents Posted: 28 Jul 2021 05:15 PM PDT On my Galaxy S21, the Google Podcasts app shows up twice in the Recents screen. One of these instances is just a black screen while the other is the actual app. If the black screen is closed, the app continues to function in the background, but the second instance reopens when I open the app again. This happens on both my S10 and S21. Opening app info from either instance opens Google Podcasts, so I don't think it's a different app. Here's a picture of the issue. Any help is appreciated. | [Samsung Galaxy A51] No longer boots, splash screen and recovery mode working Posted: 28 Jul 2021 05:15 PM PDT Hello, I have an A51 that is no longer working, i managed to get a backup of most of my data on to a new phone, however it seems i had forgotten to sync or backup my google photos from the non working A51. I can boot it into this screen by holding the volume up and power key, and i have tried clearing the cache, but this did not seem to help. I can force a reboot by pressing the power and volume down keys, but beyond this splash screen i get nothing but a black screen. And although the screen is black when it boots, it seems like it still works, i can tap the screen and i get a vibration feedback so it seems the phone itself is still finctional, but the screen stops responding after the splash. Posted: 28 Jul 2021 04:48 PM PDT So i just tried to unlock my phone, it didnt even ask me to put my pin it just said to try again in 1440 minutes, i hadnt even touched it for 10 minutes, it just decided to lock itself for no reason. Is there anything i can do to unlock it? I cant turn it off, reset it or put it in emergency mode. I can soft reset it by pushing the power and volume down buttons but that didnt do anything. i also cant hard reset because i have to turn it off first. [link] [comments]  |
| Do you feel a difference between 90 and 144 hz refresh rate? Posted: 28 Jul 2021 10:51 AM PDT I just got a Xiaomi 10t which has 144hz screen. I tried 60, 90 and 144. There's a big difference between 60 and 90 but I didn't notice any visual difference between 90 and 144. Is it mostly for gaming? Cause I only tried scrolling on Facebook and stuff. My previous Motorola one 5g ace had a microphone issue so I got a replacement from Motorola. Posted: 28 Jul 2021 12:09 PM PDT For years, when you're typing a password in a password entry fields, Gboard automatically shows the number row above the keyboard. I like that behavior. It's, for some reason, not been doing that lately. Anyone know why? EDIT: I am not talking about the permanent number row, which I'm aware of. I don't want it there permanently.
