Knots 3D free for a limited time

    Posted: 29 Jun 2021 02:07 PM PDT

I just noticed that Knots 3D is on sale for free for a limited time, usually $5.99. I personally purchased this app for full price, it is an excellent app that shows you how to tie a lot of different knots by 3D animation. Undoubtedly worth getting for free if you think you will ever need it.

Looking for modern weather app with: pollen count, UV index, and air quality

    Posted: 30 Jun 2021 11:43 AM PDT

Also need humidity, pressure, precip chance by hour, alerts for extreme conditions, and a clean looking widget (with at least current/high/low temps).

I'm currently using Weatherbug, which does include all this. But I'd like something with a cleaner interface. The app is slow and has a lot of ads and videos.

I've tried a lot of recommended apps (1weather, Clean weather, appy weather, overdrop, etc), but none include all these items. The clean weather app looks amazing and I love the widgets for 1weather. Problem is neither include pollen count. I haven't tested any of these long enough to know if the weather warning notifications work properly.

Am I looking for a unicorn?

Edit to add: major bonus if it includes a geomagnetic forecast, or alerts for high geomagnetic activity.

Good alternative to Evernote (for note taking)?

    Posted: 30 Jun 2021 09:14 AM PDT

Evernote has recently gone the way of ES File Explorer, that being, it's shit the bed so phenomenally hard that it's genuinely impressive. The app is unusable now, not figuratively, I mean literally, I cannot use it because it won't save my notes anymore, yet alone sync them between my phone and PC.

What are some alternative apps out there that fulfil the same purpose? That being, note taking that isn't terrible, and preferably sync between multiple devices. Some amount of markdown capability would be nice too.

Is the premium version of Pocket (the app that lets you save articles offline) worth it?

    Posted: 30 Jun 2021 11:15 AM PDT

I know they're stuck feature-wise, I am still considering getting a premium because their 'discover' section has improved a lot. The unlimited highlights and permanent saving of article (the latter which I am yet to see it in action) are other USPs. On top of that, is there any compelling reason to get the premium version? I have noticed that things are getting slightly better ever since it was acquired by Mozilla.

    Google Play release notes

    Posted: 29 Jun 2021 04:57 PM PDT

It should be forbidden for developers to only put "bug fixes and improvements" in their release notes. A lot of users like me want to know exactly what is changed , so something like this is not helpful.

    I need an alternative

    Posted: 30 Jun 2021 07:30 AM PDT

i have a lot of these installed because i cant get myself to stop using Touchpal. I found it long before it became aware and decided to use pirated versions when they did go over and above the limits even for adware. The thong that keeps me still using it is the way you can have more than three predictions. Another option I struggle to let go is that I can disable swiping for words and then I have gestures like swipe down on a key for the symbol and swipe up to capitalise the letter. Is there any keyboard app out there for me?

    Thank you

The best SMS app by Microsoft

    Posted: 30 Jun 2021 06:03 AM PDT

The best feature of this app that it has a separate notification category for OTPs. It will directly show you only the OTP on pop up for few seconds. The pop up won't show you rest of the unnecessary text.

You can even delete the OTP from notification or copy it. You can also set expiry date. Like after 1 day all notifications will be deleted automatically

It also has SMS backup feature. It uses Google drive. You can set to automatic or manual.

Edit: lol people are downvoting without using the app. 🤦‍♂️

App to adjust microphone sensitivity without Audio gain?

    Posted: 30 Jun 2021 09:14 AM PDT

The microphone I'm using is detecting to much background noises so whenever I want to talk in a game that doesn't detect which noises are actually a human talking and which noises are just breathing I can't use open mic without ear raping my whole team. I tried a app from google play called microphone amplifier but to hear anything you have to put the audio gain on at least one and even if I only put it on one it will sound like the microphone is in my mouth.
