Notification History on S9 missing Posted: 28 Jun 2021 01:06 AM PDT I have a Samsung S9 and when I look up how to find past notifications, every single link says to go into settings and select "apps and notifications". That option does not exist. Both "notifications" and "apps" are two separate options. Under that, all the advice links say to select "notification history". Again, this does not appear anywhere. My S9 is current to Android 10 (apparently 11 won't be available for this model) [link] [comments] |
Phone seems to think I'm scanning an nfc tag. Posted: 27 Jun 2021 09:27 PM PDT I had this weird message pop up on my phone twice today. I'm not sure how it happened, it seemed like it was from my Galaxy Watch being near my phone but I couldn't get it to trigger on purpose. [link] [comments] |
Help with complete Samsung phone list (S9, Galaxy A51, etc.) in order? Posted: 27 Jun 2021 06:19 PM PDT To transfer a SIM from a broken phone, I need to get a model that's "Samsung S9 or above." I currently have an A51. Trying to search the order of old to new is very frustrating and confusing. No list has both A51 and S9, so I don't even know if A models and S models are two separate types, or if they mean different things or what. Any knowledgeable people with a complete list, comparing and including them all? [link] [comments] |
Where I post a video of my issue? Posted: 28 Jun 2021 01:41 AM PDT It cannot be written down as my Samsung tablet won't turn on but just keeps resetting itself to a blue screen with Android logo and then a black error screen with what seems to be error codes and it just cycles through these screens constantly. The tablet cannot be switched off or reset the normal way... [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Jun 2021 01:38 AM PDT i'm going to buy pixel 4a. currently the price is 315eur (from google). should i wait until 6 comes out, for the prices to drop? or does that not usually happen? how was it with the past models? [link] [comments] |
Discover Swipe Left from home screen showing white screen Posted: 28 Jun 2021 12:04 AM PDT On my phone, I used to have the swipe left to get to Discover feed. Now it just shows a white screen - no search bar or anything. Was this changed recently? Or is it bugged? I can still access the feed through the Google app, but I can't scroll to it anymore (just white screen). I've tried restarting to no avail. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Is It Worth It to Repair The Screen? (Samsung Galaxy S10+) Posted: 27 Jun 2021 11:33 PM PDT Not sure if this is the right place, apologies if it isn't. Title is pretty self-explanatory. Last year, my previous phone died unexpectedly, and I had to go to a store to get this one (it was in the middle of the Covid panic when everything was out of stock). The employee there told me not to get a screen protector because it wouldn't work well with curved screens, and I stupidly believed him. Despite always being careful w/ my devices, after barely a year, this screen has tons of scratches, some deeper than others. None of them necessarily inhibit the touch function, but they bother me to no end just looking at them and feeling them. I really wanna get a replacement, but I don't want to pay over $100 USD (or close to that if possible). There is a cell phone repair store nearby, but I want to ask here first so that I kinda know what a decent price is to avoid getting scammed. Also, I really want to keep this phone for a few yrs (my last phone, which was also my 1st phone, served me well for 4-5 yrs). If I was going to get a new one soon, then I wouldn't be so torn over the screen, lol. [link] [comments] |
App to use an old phone as a security camera? Posted: 27 Jun 2021 10:45 AM PDT I have an old Moto G7 Power laying around and figured I'd use it as a security camera. However I can't find a basic app on the Play Store that allows the phone to record with the screen off. As well as storing clips to a cloud drive. Do those exist or will I need to look elsewhere? Problems with Google voice to text Posted: 27 Jun 2021 09:16 PM PDT I have a Samsung Galaxy S10 with fully updated OS, and I primarily use SwiftKey for a keyboard though I tried Gboard to and it has the same problem. about a week and a half ago I noticed the UI looks different for Google's voice to text feature, and I've had some serious performance problems since the same time. for one, the accuracy has gone way down, and the time out between words has decreased to the point where oftentimes just the gap in between words is enough to make it time out. The biggest problem though is that it used to have a feature where if you tapped one of the words it wrote, it would bring up a list of other words that guess might have been in case he got it wrong, and that doesn't seem to be there anymore. has anybody else noticed this change, and if so does anyone know a way to fix it or revert it? thanks! Broken phone, can't extract data (authenticators) Posted: 27 Jun 2021 07:14 PM PDT So I recently killed my old OnePlus 3, gave it a good whack now there's no display. I've got stuff in the Google authenticator I need access to, but I don't have (or can't find) backup keys. The phone still has a bit of life, it makes the lock noise if you press the button, one of the lights on the bottom buttons lights up, and when plugging it into my PC, it's being recognised, but it's not on data transfer USB mode. My volume buttons have also been broken for many years, but I made do with going to the settings to adjust (and enabling swiping on the screen in media apps like YT Vanced). I've fucked about with all the suggested apps I found through Googling (about 5-6 different "extract data from dead phone" apps) to no avail. At this point I think my only option is to buy a new screen and try fixing it to the point where I can pull stuff off it, but I'd rather not spend the money. Any ideas? [link] [comments] |
contacts without phone numbers Posted: 27 Jun 2021 06:49 PM PDT Is there a way to see what contacts do not have numbers? All I can find is "how to hide contacts w/o numbers" or " how to only show contacts with numbers" thanks [link] [comments] |

Google Assistant keeps glitching. Posted: 27 Jun 2021 05:29 PM PDT I was wondering if anyone here could help me. On my smartphone when I say ok google the assistant won't come up on the screen. I can still ask it to do things and it will like set the timer however I can't see the assistant at all. The only thing that fixes the problem is if I disable the app reverting it back to it basic settings. This seems to be temporary though because it takes less than a day before I need to do this again. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? Thanks for any help. [link] [comments] |
Moto g5s Plus - Sometimes clicking the text bar to text someone doesn’t open up the keyboard Posted: 27 Jun 2021 05:04 PM PDT As it says in the title, sometimes clicking the text bar to text someone doesn't open up the keyboard. For some reason if I hit back and select the person's name again it works the first time. I checked for phone updates and it says I'm up to date. What would be causing this? [link] [comments] |

Samsung galaxy voicemail app playback volume issues Posted: 27 Jun 2021 08:04 PM PDT Galaxy J3 Using the factory installed visual voicemail app. It receives all voicemails and app loads quicky. Problem is when i play the voicemail to listen to it, the volume is so faint i can't even make it out. Also if i turn the handfree speaker on i hear nothing. All other apps work fine and phone calls all normal volume with or with out the hand free speaker. Should i just uninstall the app? I just would like to listen to my vmail first but idk... Posted: 27 Jun 2021 09:28 AM PDT I'm looking for a new android phone. Looking for a price of around 250 to 350 British pounds The two that have come to my attention the most are the poco f3 and the oneplus nord ce 5g 12 gb version. I see the poco has the better Cpu of the two but was wondering would the 4 gb of extra ram help to close the gap, can't seem to find anyone comparing the 12gb version vs the f3. Would love some insight in which one of the two to buy or even another phone to checkout. Thanks [link] [comments] |
Posted: 27 Jun 2021 03:12 PM PDT Would anyone happen to know the sar rating of the wiko life 2 phone by assurance wireless? I've checked everywhere but no luck. [link] [comments] |
Download mode, bootloader and warranty Posted: 27 Jun 2021 02:54 PM PDT So, my S10+ just randomly bootlooped out of thin air, and I'd like to recover my files if possible. Wiping cache and app data didn't help. Then I've heard I could maybe move files in the download mode, and to get there I have to 'reboot into bootloader', which scares me because of the possibilities of voiding the warranty there (of which I still have 1,5 years left...). But perhaps I can go to download mode without voiding the warranty, but I would like someone to confirm this. [link] [comments] |
Unable to play, pause,, forward our rewind videos in reddit Posted: 27 Jun 2021 08:45 PM PDT Got a new S21. Have not changed a thing and all of a sudden I no longer can move the slider in a video to forward or reverse or pay or pause 🤬🤬🤬🤬 [link] [comments] |
Bluetooth audio playback quality option in Developer Settings keeps reverting? Posted: 27 Jun 2021 01:57 PM PDT I'm using LDAC codec with my Sony earbuds and Samsung Galaxy Note 9, and whenever I change the Bluetooth audio playback quality in developer settings, it reverts whenever my earbuds disconnect/turn off Bluetooth. How can I get this to save the setting? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 27 Jun 2021 01:47 PM PDT Hi, I know people complain about phantom vibrations all the time. But I know for sure my phone is randomly vibrating throughout the day. I have notifying history on and its not related to any notifications that I'm getting (that I can see) What methods are there to track what is causing my phone to vibrate? So that I can try and stop it [link] [comments] |
Does more megapixel mean larger sized photos? Posted: 27 Jun 2021 01:40 PM PDT I've realized that the photo sizes pretty much stay the same despite updating to a better phone with a better megapixel camera. My first phone had an 8 mp camera. Now my phone has 12 + 8 (it has two lenses or 2 cameras or whatever it's called) Despite this, photo sizes stay within 2-3 megabytes. Now I'm considering buying a new device which has a 48 +5 + 2 megapixel camera (3 cameras). That's a huge difference. I'm worried about running out of storage because of this. My view photos are around 3-4 mbs. Which is fine for now. But with this new one, I'm afraid that they're gonna be like 50 megabytes or something. How much of a difference should I expect? Thanks.
