Quick overview of Windows 11 - Insider preview. Posted: 28 Jun 2021 02:05 PM PDT Not an in depth look, but a very quick overview. TLDR at the bottom. I've been using the Leaked DEV build of Windows 11 on bare metal hardware since it leaked. Today, with the launch of the first Insider build I decided to do a clean install and make some pointers as I go along, so here goes. Been playing around with it, tested a few games, apps. Ran a good few stress tests too. There are some features missing from Windows 11 that were there in Windows 10. You can't move the taskbar anymore, you can't put the taskbar on any other screen apart from the one marked as your main display either. You can change the position of it on your MAIN display using some registry edits but it's a little glitchy. You also can't change the size of the taskbar, it's stuck looking rather large on 1080p displays. Just like changing the position, you can also change the size with a registry edit, however it isn't glitchy. I've changed the size to its smallest size and it works perfectly. I assume these are things they will reintroduce at a later date, given what they said on their Windows 11 - insider build Dev blog. So, onto the good stuff. Everything seems super stable, as long as your PC can run it Is say you'd be perfectly happy with it. Running it next to my other system using Windows 10, 11 is much faster in my testing. Game performance is also a fair bit higher, boasting a higher average FPS. App switching and load times for system apps, chrome and literally any other app is faster too. This seems to be the common outcome with Windows 11 among many other users. So, TLDR - I'd personally say switch to the Dev builds for the insider program and give it a whirl, given the stress tests and game performance it hasn't yet crashed, lagged or slowed down. It seems very stable for such a build, just bear in mind some features from 10 are missing. Although some can be changed through various registry edits. So yeh, Hope this helps. If you have any questions, fire away! [link] [comments] | ||

Sideload google play store apk on windows 11? Posted: 28 Jun 2021 04:13 PM PDT Since it's been confirmed that windows 11 allows for the sideloading of apk's, what's to stop us from, in theory, installing a google play store apk and a google play services apk and then installing games off those?
