I have tried surfshark VPN (paid membership) and it worked with all apps but not reddit, i have also tried blockada with some well known filters (adaway, energized, OISD) but it didn't work either... | What's the cheapest way to turn the 1 USB-C female port on my Pixel XL into 2 ports? Posted: 01 Jun 2021 10:44 PM PDT I'm using my Stadia controller to play RE8 on my Pixel in bed. It works great, but the Pixel is old and the battery has shat the bed, meaning I constantly need to keep it on the charger. However, I know that you can connect the Stadia controller to a phone via cable to use it as a generic controller, which I would like to do in order to play Xbox's cloud games as well. Thus, I need 2 ports: 1 for charging, and 1 for the controller. Amazon has splitters that do exactly this for about $15 each, but does anyone know if, like many Amazon electronics, I can find something similar unbranded on eBay for like a fifth of the price? I'm fine if it has a hub rather than everything being integrated into the cable if it means saving money. I have female USB-A (as well as micro) to male USB-C adapters if needed [link] [comments]  |

| Weird Comparison: Motorola Edge Plus vs. Pixel 4a Posted: 01 Jun 2021 02:29 PM PDT My carrier is offering a deal on certified pre-owned phones. I was going to get a pixel 4a however, I saw that I could get the Motorola for about 175$ more. I'm well aware that the edge plus is a flagship and has a lot more features than the pixel 4a however, there are still some real drawbacks such as software and camera (this is less significant though). I was wondering if anybody has any experience with the edge plus more specifically and if I should just pay the extra bit of cash and get what on paper is a much better phone. Thanks for any help! | Galaxy tab a SM-T280 worth as a spotify player? Posted: 01 Jun 2021 09:37 AM PDT We had an unused tablet from 2016, that I connected to my vintage hifi setup. It works ok for a couple days, until the 8gb internal memory is messed up by bloatware and stuff. My cheap SD-card lasted longer than expected (r.i.p), and now the headphone out is messing the sound up. My idea was to reduce the tablet to a wifi connected spotify player, that's wired to the integrated amplifier It's been more than 10 years since I revived a computer with linux. Apparently things changed lol, and it looks harder, though not impossible... So... removing bloatware? Rooting? Any other possibilities to give this thing a second life? It's okay, if this thing is bricked. at least I tried lol. And, an additional question. Would a DAC improve sound? [link] [comments]  |

Even in the Amazon app if I click a sponsored listing it does the "uh oh something went wrong" page. It's incredibly frustrating.. I'm running a pixel 2 xl with android 11.. Regardless of the app I'm using, it always open at the images folder instead of the recent section, so I have to press back and open the hamburger menu every time. The recent sections has shortcuts for apps that support media such as Samsung Gallery, for example, which is way better to pick files than opening the hamburger menu > internal storage > DCIM folder for example. If I go on the PC and log into messenger, it used to clear the notification on my phone when I had my S9. Now, however, the notification remains with my S21 Ultra. Also, previously, there was always a few seconds delay between a notification popping on my phone, and it happening on PC. However, with the S21 Ultra, that few seconds has turned into a few minutes. | Real time write with a pen app Posted: 01 Jun 2021 01:44 PM PDT I am interested in finding an app (similar to OneNote or Microsoft's Whiteboard) that works both on Android and on iOS, where 2 people can write (with a pen) at the same time. The real time text is mandatory. Microsoft's OneNote and Whiteboard were supposed to do that but it doesn't. There is a lag between what i say (on a voice chat app), what i write and what the other person hears. OneNote in particular is awful of syncing ...sometimes even 2h are gone and still the other person can't see what i wrote. To put it into perspective, assume i'm teaching someone something. I need to voice chat (got that covered), both people write down with pens (one on a Samsung S7+ Tablet and the other person is using an Ipad). We need to text to appear in real time. Currently I'm using Miro which allows me to do so, but the free version is limited and the payed version is way way overpriced for my needs. | Whatsapp images folder disappeared from gallery. Posted: 01 Jun 2021 04:49 PM PDT I opened my gallery a little while ago and the whatsapp images were not showing, like it seemed liked some of them had been corrupted. As I was seeing them suddenly the whole folder disappeared, I cant see those images in trash either. The folder is not in file manager either, I've tried to clear whatsapp's cache and even restarted the phone but I still can't find it. I know they're not deleted because the images are still there in the chats. Any idea what I should do??? [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 01 Jun 2021 04:34 PM PDT Symptoms include the media controls still being present on the lock screen or notifications, allowing to resume content by pressing play. What is interesting is play / pause function on headphones do not resume media after the mysterious pausing. This is an issue for all apps on the phone. I fall asleep to YouTube (YouTube Premium with locked off screen), and routinely wake up to the phone having paused some time in the night. This also happens when I'm listening to music throughout the day through headphones; randomly pausing. Potentially the issue only occurs when the screen is locked and off. I have not noticed the issue when driving; generally my phone has Google Maps or Waze open with Spotify playing in the background.. not an issue there. I have also not noticed the issue ever when watching YouTube videos with the screen on. I will cook for long periods of time with the phone playing YouTube and it has not been a problem there.
