Is There Any Way To Eject My USB Flash Drive Safely From My PS5? Posted: 28 Apr 2021 10:25 AM PDT Alright, so I just plugged in my 4TB HDD (For PS4 games) to my PS5 and after formatting it, it showed me how much storage I had. All is good but now I plug in my USB Flash Drive (For PS4 Save Data) and after wanting to remove it, there's no way of doing so. There's absolutely no mention of my USB Flash Drive in the settings and I know it works cause I was able to copy a screenshot onto there as a test. The only place I was able to find it being mentioned is where you would go if you wanted to backup your PS5 but even on there, there's no way of ejecting it while the PS5 is on. So will I be able to remove it safely by turning my PS5 off and then removing it or will that still harm my save data/files?? [link] [comments]

How to obtain product keys from installed programs? Posted: 28 Apr 2021 11:17 AM PDT Hello, In my research group, we have some computers which run some very old programs. Currently, one of them is beginning to have some hard drive issues. I have fully backed up all the data, so that part shouldn't be a problem. But I am trying to run the programs on another computer. However, this requires the license key. Due to it being very old (2005), we have no idea where the original cd with the license key is. In the program's about page, they show the first half of the key and the person who registered the account. I have tried to message the company and am waiting to see if they respond. I have tried using Belarc Advisor, but the version the computer is running is Windows XP SP2 (2002), but it seems it only accepts 2003-. Does anyone know of any older program that can do what Belarc could do? Any help is appreciated. Thank you. [link] [comments]
Computer not turning on after going in standby Posted: 28 Apr 2021 11:13 AM PDT The title explains to itself, i recently upgraded from windows 8.1 to 10 and for some reason when i leave it on overnight it doesn't turn on anymore in the morning, i try unplugging it and turning it on and it doesn't work for nothing, i do it again and it works. This happens very frequently what are the possible causes? [link] [comments]
Brand new PC consistent BSOD... have tried everything Posted: 28 Apr 2021 10:53 AM PDT Greetings. Lengthy post b/c I tried doing TONS of googled solutions before coming here. I cannot get this issue resolved. Summary My brand new PC (as of November 2020) has been giving me constant BSOD daily despite all of my attempts to solve it. It happens most consistently if I'm watching Netflix/Youtube on a web-browser. If I'm gaming however, it will NEVER happen (talking 8 hrs+ gaming straight). But if I sit & watch a movie, blue screen guaranteed at some point. BSOD titles/names are all over the place from IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL to KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED. Dropbox of Mini-Dump files https://www.dropbox.com/sh/h8b3w3i41b7tqol/AAB4yg1w_KUwvTRj_Pq7-jL1a?dl=0 PC Specs
Attempts made to solve issue
Rant/notes I do NOT get BSOD when I'm gaming for hours on end... to the point where I'll have a game running in the background while watching Netflix to ensure I don't get the BSOD. It's upsetting that I have a brand new system giving me so many issues whereas my friends whom I've helped build their systems, don't have any issues whatsoever. The time I get the BSOD is if I'm watching Netflix/Youtube but can't figure out why it doesn't occur otherwise. I have spent HOURS trying to do solutions but cannot figure it out so I'm hopeful someone who can understand Mini-dumps can be revealed to what's my problem. Update 1: PC crashes without running anything. Just sitting there. Many Thanks [link] [comments]
Factory reset without password Posted: 28 Apr 2021 10:46 AM PDT I was given a Lenovo ThinkPad T420 running on Windows 7. I'd like to either reset it to factory settings or install Windows 10 on it (I already have the Media Creation Tool files on a USB flash drive). The person that gifted me this laptop didn't remove her user account password. I've tried going through the F11 recovery menu, but needed the password for that and can't get it to boot from the USB. Is there any way to bypass the password to either do a factory reset or install Windows 10 off of a USB? Thanks in advance. Update: Booted off of USB through BIOS menus. Windows 10 successfully installed. [link] [comments]
Brand new HP Envy laptop screen flickering Posted: 28 Apr 2021 09:02 AM PDT Hey, I just got a new HP Envy 15 laptop about two days ago and right away I noticed occasional flickering across the screen. It's not super bad but it is definitely there and happens quickly every few minutes, so it's kind of concerning. I've tried to read up on it but still not sure what to do. I've opened task manager to see if it flickers on that and it still does. I've also read some stuff about the drivers but this is a brand new laptop so idk why I would need to do anything with that yet. If anyone has any good resources or advice please let me know, and thanks! [link] [comments]
Posted: 27 Apr 2021 07:42 PM PDT Hey everyone, I've recently been having alot of trouble with my upload speed. I've been getting <1mbps when before I would get ~10mbps (ethernet). Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? I've checked for updates on all my network drives, scanned for malware, changed ports on the router, and reset the network adapter and computer multiple times. I doubt this is a problem with my cable since it's the same one I used before. I'm also pretty sure this is a problem specific to my computer as my laptop shows no problems with upload speeds.
