I received my Mi 11 just a few days ago. Here are two test shots.

Thought I'd share just in case anyone's interested in the picture quality. These are from the stock camera app, with no settings changed - except setting the picture quality to high.

Generally quite satisfied. Although if you really zoom in to the bridge photo and look at the trees, you can see some weird smoothing effects, which I'm not a fan of. Anybody know how to get rid of that? I checked the beautify mode and AI settings but they're both turned off.

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 02:49 PM PDT

I have the Mi11 global version and it has the version 12.0.3

And it says that is updated...but i remember seeing youtube videos before buying the phone with people with version 12.5 something...and i remember seeing cinematic effects on the camera video mode and stuff that i don't see on my phone..(sad face)....so how do i get that version with all the shenanigans that i saw on youtube videos?!?

Im kinda puzzled with this...thanks in advance ☺️

Edit: nevermind about the movie filters and all the shiny video modes, i already discovered them 🤭

    Mi Note 10 Update

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 10:58 PM PDT

Hi, I've seen the MIUI 12.1.4 Update floating around, and even higher versions (could have been MIUI 12.2.7 on Mi 10) And I am wondering when the update will come to the Mi Note 10.

I assume this is the March Security update but it's the 31st and I still haven't gotten the update :/

What is your opinion about MIUI

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 10:51 PM PDT

Hello, I want to buy my first Xiaomi, and I am not sure about MIUI.

There are lots of people who say it's good and others that say it is not.

Speaking about ads in MIUI, is there a way to disable everywhere? Also, I heard the MIUI is rather buggy sometimes, is this true?

And as last thing, I am a little skeptical about privacy and security in MIUI.

    Thanks!

Does anyone here who owns a Black Shark phone with the included gamepads tried playing Genshin Impact with them?

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 06:44 PM PDT

I'm trying to see if playing on Android with gamepads will have you banned because they use screen keymapping, even if your using a software from a well-known brand.

Mi Notebook Pro 15.6" not showing any signs of life after replacing fans

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 01:36 PM PDT

About a month ago I bought myself a used Mi Notebook Pro 15.6" with an I7 8550U, 16GB RAM and a GeForce MX150. Overall I really like the laptop a lot but the most annoying thing about it were the fans which started making a very annoying scratching sound after just a few days. To fix this, I bought some replacement fans online.

Today, the fans arrived so I opened up the laptop and replaced the original fans with the new ones. After I replaced the fans and assembled everything again, the laptop no longer turns on. It appears to be completely dead, not even the power LED turns on when plugging it in. Unfortunately I forgot to unplug the battery while replacing the fans so I think I might have shortened something while replacing the fans. However, I don't know if this is actually what happened.

I already unplugged the battery for a few minutes but that did not help. Is there anything else I can do or try by myself or do I have to send it to a repair shop? I live in germany and never sent anything to a repair shop before so far so if this is my only option I'd appreciate if someone can suggest a repair shop with a good reputation (possibly one that has experience with Xiaomi products). Thanks!

    Reboot problem

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 09:22 PM PDT

I updated my redmi note 9 pro (Indian variant) yesterday from miui 12.3 to 12.4 but it got stuck in the miui logo, this has happened before also, but got fixed when I rebooted from fastboot mode, but this time that wasn't working either. So I went to boot recovery mode, there there are 3 options: Reboot to system, Clear data, connect to mi assistant or something, I tried rebooting to system but it failed and returned me to the boot recovery screen again, so I had to clear all data and start my phone from like out of the box. Does anybody know a fix? I really wanna update to miui 12.5 when it comes

Xiaomi dark mode / light mode issue - solved

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 08:32 PM PDT

I've been trying to switch to light mode for a couple days now in the settings menu without success however I happened to stumble on the fix another way. For those that want to switch modes (light/dark) just swipe down on the home screen (where you get the control center buttons - wifi, airplane mode, flash light etc). Make sure you swipe down twice to see the full menu. Once you can see the full menu swipe to the left to get more buttons then you'll see one called 'dark mode'. Click it on and off for light or dark mode accordingly. It's that easy, cheers!

    Battery Problem, Mi9t

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 07:31 PM PDT

Yesterday, I accidentally threw my phone when I was scrolling TikTok. It caused my screen protector to crack a little bit. But that's not what I concern about because today this morning, suddenly my battery phone didn't charge fast enough. I am still using the original charging set that was given in the box when I bought it in 2019. Now it took a slower to charge the phone when the usual charging is faster. Can somebody give me the solution to make my charging fast again? Thank you in advance

    "Notes" app incredibly slow

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 01:19 PM PDT

I'm using a brand new Mi 10T. Making notes on the Notes app that came pre-installed is incredibly slow. The app itself runs fine when I'm just browsing the notes, but when I start typing it turns into super lag mode. Everything else so far is working perfectly which is why I'm a little puzzled. Is some cloud syncing feature causing the lag possibly?

Mi 10t vs Black Shark 3 (both non pro version)- Gamer's perspective

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 01:49 PM PDT

From what I see, both the mi 10t and the Black Shark 3 are beasts in their price range category, and thus the confusion in which to choose. The mi 10t boasts a 144 hz refresh rate and an ips lcd screen(best in its class according to popular opinion). I know that it won't be as great as an amoled screen in terms of contrast but it won't have burn ins over time, right? It also has an enormous 5,000 mAh battery capacity(as opposed to 4720 mAh) and a 33Watt charger(The Black Shark offers a 65Watt charging capacity, which is pretty monstrous). That aside, the mi 10t also offers adaptive refresh rate. However, I did read that the mi 10t heats up while playing genshin.. Is that a deal breaker(in this case mi 10t vs BS 3)? Black Shark 3 has offers a 90 hz refresh rate as opposed to the mi 10t's 144 hz refresh rate. However, it also offers a higher touch sampling rate(240 hz vs 270 hz), an amoled screen(I don't actually know if it's better in this case), 8 gigs of ram(mi 10t provides 6 gigs of ram), the shark space, and the presence of a 3.5mm headphone jack. My biggest question is, is the mi 10t's ips lcd and the 144 hz refresh rate really worth it? Please correct me if any of the information provided above is incorrect, and please do feel free to drop in more information. Thank you for reading this far, and sorry for the long wall of text! x) Your opinion matters!! :D

Redmi Note 10 Pro 120hz issue

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 11:26 AM PDT

The 120hz is not turning on. Since my last phone was Razer Phone 2, which has 120hz display, I felt that the 120hz was not on from the beginning, later when I turned it on I did not see any difference. After enabling the developer optios and turning on from monitoring the FPS counter, it is showing me always 60hz. After doing factory reset, IT DID go on 120hz for about 5 mins, then it automatically got locked to 60hz again. I am asking you guys if this is a common issue or should I return this phone. The annoying part is I got it through Aliexpress and from what I have heard dealing with returns to aliexpress is quite annoying
