SSD showing in BIOS but NOT showing in Windows 10! Posted: 30 Mar 2021 02:42 PM PDT I have tried several ways online to try and fix this issue, and nothing worked! please help? [link] [comments]
I have lots of problems with my PC and I can't reset it. The rendering memory is also full. Posted: 30 Mar 2021 07:52 PM PDT I use my PC to play games and usually it works pretty well but recently I have noticed that it keeps closing stuff and freezing saying "your rendering device is out of memory" and stuff like that in Overwatch and Apex legends which usually run at 60 fps easy. I don't know if this has any correlation but usually Discord is up when this stuff happens and Discord imparticular freezes first. Along with Chrome which usually follows suit. I thought maybe resetting my PC fully (fully as in deleting all of the files and whatnot but not deleting the users) but whenever I try to reset it gets pretty far in the process from what I can tell and then it just says "there was a problem resetting your pc. Please try again" so I go and try again and it does the same exact thing at the same exact time in the process of resetting. I decided to give up hope and just deal with the fact that my PC is old but today I got greeted with a strange beeping everytime I scrolled my mouse. It only happens when I ALT+TAB out of fullscreen applications and scroll but I just thought it was so strange. I don't know what is happening to my PC but can someone please help? One more question : how do I empty the D: Recovery Drive? I thought maybe these problems were all rooting from the fact that my recovery drive is almost full so I tried to empty it and it had an empty folder and another folder that was blocked for security reasons, even when I went on the admin profile. Someone please, please help. [link] [comments]
Gifs and videos come out with a white screen instead. Windows 10 Posted: 30 Mar 2021 03:59 PM PDT Any gif or video I try to play in an app, such as Discord, Steam, or the default Windows apps comes out with a blank white screen. Anyone else got this problem? Anyone got a solution? It's been happening for a while, but since there were general workarounds for me it didn't matter that much, now I'm needing these apps to work properly, so please, if anyone has a way to solve this, I'm up to try anything honestly [link] [comments]
What do I do if my power ran out I. The middle of factory reset??? Posted: 30 Mar 2021 03:08 PM PDT Hello there new here, very bad with technology. My problem is that because my computer was having problems like taking forever to load and freezing every time I press something. I forcefully shut it down many times until it showed that it was fixing C: and after it gave me a option to reset(reinstall windows). I was like maybe this will fix the problem, but just as the reset was at 89% my power ran out. And now when ever I turn on the laptop it just restarts. HOW DO I FIX THIS??? [link] [comments]
Using Apple Wired Keyboard A1243 - worked for 3 years, now F1 & F2 don't work. Posted: 30 Mar 2021 06:05 PM PDT I know this isn't quite the right place, but I figured that many of us have a windows 10 gaming PC. I used to bootcamp my iMac before getting a dedicated gaming PC. The problem is something that's just happened - I have only installed a VNC recently, but there has been some windows updates. Otherwise nothing has changed on the system, but it's not got a massive problem with the Apple Wired keyboard: The F1 and F2 keys no longer do anything (i.e. open a new tab in the web browser) UNLESS the FN key is also held down. This means that games that require F1 or F2 no longer work. I've re-installed the Apple bootcamp driver many times - but when I look in the Device Manager, it still says that it's a MS driver being used. Because this is a dedicated PC, I can't install 'bootcamp' proper, so I've had to get the drivers from servers online. But the thing is, I never needed to do this for the last 3 years that it's been working fine. I've killed every process in Task Manager, every system tray application, so it's the bare bones system, and still, the F1 and F2 keys are un-assigned or toggled off. As of today, I have the very latest Windows, including all updates. Has anyone come across this and can help? Thank for reading. [link] [comments]
Boot Drive Keeps Getting Changed, Help! Posted: 30 Mar 2021 05:51 PM PDT Hi! Back in January I switched to a 500 GB SSD for my boot drive off of my 2 TB hard drive. When I switched, I deleted everything off the HDD I didn't need, and used a third party software to the SSD. Afterwards, I reinstalled other random stuff to my HDD, but everytime my computer turns off/gets updated, Windows keeps booting to my HDD, not my SSD. I go to BIOS and change the default and disable the hard drive, aka Windows Boot Manager to the SSD, yet everytime, it reverts after being powered off. If this isn't a Windows problem, I'm sorry, I'd just like to be pointed in the right direction. Thanks! [link] [comments]

App Volume and device preference bug Posted: 30 Mar 2021 05:23 PM PDT I use the advanced setting within windows to set my default sound to my headphones and then specify app sound to my TV. After a reboot today, the setting no longer shows any apps for me to change their sound output. Any tips? [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 Mar 2021 03:59 PM PDT Is there a log for NTFS self-healing? When NTFS self-healing deletes data due to file system corruption, it does so silently. So I want to know which file/directory is affected when it happens. [link] [comments]

Posted: 30 Mar 2021 03:24 PM PDT So I know that lock files are typically used to help you however it's being used to prevent me from playing a game on a school laptop is there a way for me to stop the lock file from appearing or anything? I tried renaming the specific file being blocked however without that file the game won't open because it looks for a specific name to open, so is there any other possible solutions? Windows 7 Wi-Fi card issues: Is it me or is it the hardware? Posted: 30 Mar 2021 11:37 AM PDT Long story short I installed a new Wi-Fi card in my computer. I'm running Windows 7. Type:AR5B22 2.4G/5G Dual Band PCIE Wireless Adapter AC300Mbps Wi-Fi Network Card Bluetooth 4.0 for Desktop PC Wireless wifi Adapter The Wi-Fi card will let me see the networks but when I put in the password and try to connect it fails. I'm not certain what the issue is but when I use a little Wi-Fi USB dongle I can connect using it. Does anyone have experience with a situation like this and suggestions on what I should do? Why i can't change lockscreen wallpaper on Windows 10?? Posted: 30 Mar 2021 03:02 PM PDT
Saturated screen and everything logged out Posted: 30 Mar 2021 02:50 PM PDT compared to what it usually was and when I opened up Firefox, It had logged me out of everything. All of my google accounts weren't there. Had to make an entirely different Reddit account just to post since it had logged me out of that and I don't remember my password or what email I used. Is this something to do with a recent update? Is there anything I can do to fix this? [link] [comments]

signing in to microsoft account at initial setup Posted: 30 Mar 2021 02:19 PM PDT after 6 years, i will now return to windows. bought a prebuilt pc that will come with windows 10. on my last machine, i had windows 8. i believe there was no need to sign in back then. after watching a couple videos, i see that many youtubers suggest to disconnect from the internet to skip the sign in part - why? why should i or why should i enter my microsoft login at the initial setup of windows 10? should you skip the sign in altogether for windows or should i do it after the setup? settings regarding data collection can be disabled after the fact, no? Is there any way to get free storage (dumb question but I need an answer) Posted: 30 Mar 2021 06:24 AM PDT So, I have an HP all-in-one pc and I've struggled with storage ever since the second week of owning it. It only has 237GB of free storage and I need more. I know that there's no way that I'm going to be able to add more storage physically so I'm trying to find a way to add it digitally. There are a few videos out there that claim to give you up to 64TB of free storage via VHDs, but I find them awfully fishy so I won't bother with them. All that I'm asking is that is there any way to get free storage or is there a good service that provides anything like it? Any reponse will be gretly appreciated. [link] [comments]
