| roms with voWiFi and voLTE for OnePlus 7 pro Posted: 30 Mar 2021 07:03 PM PDT Got a OnePlus 7 pro the other day for a pretty sweet price ( 320 usd) , it came preloaded with the oxygen os 11 update , it works flawlessly, im currently in israel for the time being, and it is legal to record calls here, called my operator and they said that on there end, voLTE and voWiFi is turned on for my device, yet I do not see it in my device options, The evolution X rom seems pretty good, can anyone tell me if this rom has these options built in? Or any other rom for OnePlus 7 pro that does? [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 30 Mar 2021 04:52 AM PDT Not sure if carrier is relevant to Samsung's OneUI version distribution but in case it is I'm in Vivo, a Brazilian carrier. And just to reiterate this is a Galaxy S10+. Until now I could have up to 25 apps on each Secure Folder page. Just updated OneUI and now it's down to 12 apps on each page. I had all my social media, texting, banking and credit card apps on my first page along with gallery and camera. Is there any way at all to go back to 25 apps? Or maybe folders? I've looked for both under Customize and Settings. The question ends above but just in case you're wondering why I need everything to be in the Secure Folder, and in case you're about to suggest I take it all out of it... I live in a really dangerous city, and I only started putting most of my apps and content in the Secure Folder after I took a wrong turn, entered a favela controlled by a drug lord, and was almost murdered upon inspection of my phone because they suspected I was gay judging by a few pics in my gallery. They were looking for any signs that I might be working for the rival gang and instead saw Zelda Breath of the Wind's Link disguised as a Gerudo, i.e. a man/boy/twink in women's clothes. Still would have died right then and there if they didn't believe me when I said I wasn't gay, which was a big fat lie that I was terrified they were going to see through. 😠So that's why everything, including video game screenshots and memes, everything goes in the Secure Folder now. My old phone kinda just stopped working, it can't connect to wifi anymore and its audio doesn't work and a bunch of other stuff, the thing is my dad had his old iphone 4 lying around so we put my sim card in it so I still have whatsapp for school purposes. Now the thing is that old phone is an android, and we're planning on getting another android phone for me to use, the problem is that none of my contacts and chat histories carried over (presumably because I went from android to iphone) and I'm kinda worried that when I get my new phone I still won't have access to all that stuff. Now a lot of this could be solved if the old phone had wifi but it doesn't, do you guys know what would happen when I get my new phone? Is there any way for me to transfer my stuff to my new phone without wifi? This might not even be the right sub for this but I honestly feel very clueless in terms of what to do [link] [comments]  |

The thing is that account has passwords, work emails, important emails, Google Photos, Google Drive. I already disconnected the device, but I can still see it in Find My Device. It's also possible that some things are still stored in that device, right? Like emails and stuff. I want to erase it to be completely sure. I know the kid isn't a techy person, so he wouldn't suspect his device was erased with Find My Device unless the phone tells him so. He comes from a... troubled... family and we don't want to have problems with them, just make sure my mother's privacy is respected. Would it be safe to hit the "Erase" button? Thanks! | Wireless Charging Not Working - ZTE Axon 10 Pro Posted: 30 Mar 2021 05:54 PM PDT Whenever I place my phone on the wireless charger, I get the charging animation. 2 seconds later, I get the charging animation again. 2 seconds later, I get the charging animation again. And so on, and so on... The phone never charges. If I restart the phone, it charges normally again (temporarily). The wireless charging pad is connected to the stock adapter. I've removed my phone case. I made sure the phone is centered on the charging pad. It seems to be software related so I looked for charging related apps in apps list (including system). | Posted: 30 Mar 2021 12:39 PM PDT Hi and thank you to anyone reading this and wanting to help. So almost 2 years ago now I had an accident happen with my note 5, broken screen. Got the screen replaced and worked but the replacement looked like it had a blueish hue so my dumb self thought about changing the resolution (don't know why I thought that'd help) but it ended up making it go black. Took it back and since the store that replaced it took so long and didn't do a good job with the handy work and just decided to keep it as is. I have a lot of personal photos and documents I'd like to retrieve but I have no idea how to recover them. I've seen programs where you can see the screen on the computer but that requires phone input and settings to be changed which I don't have access to... So can any of you find a way to help with this problem? I'm scared to give it to someone to fix it cause they might gain access to those files which... | Android 10 Samsung Galaxy A205U1 not playing audio Posted: 30 Mar 2021 12:14 PM PDT Hello everybody! I have an issue with the software because my phone will not play audio aloud, like it's connected to something like earbuds or my car's bluetooth. My phone calls can only be heard on speaker. No audio at all from media. Sometimes I'll get a notification sounds when I mess with something but that does not last long. It started last night, not 100% when. I have prior been connected to my Jeeps's Uconnect device. I have taken the following steps: 1) restarted my phone 2) shut off and turned back on my phone 3) dialed * # 0 * #and my speaker works (when I am on the hardware screen, the YouTube video that overlays my screen can be heard along with the test music. Leaving the * # 0 * # menu disables audio) 4) Turned Bluetooth off and on 5) unpaired every bluetooth device I had connected 6) I've gone to Settings>Accessibility>Hearing enhancements>Mute all sounds and turned that on and off. 7) I've gone to Settings>Apps>Three Dots in the right top corner>Show System Apps> Phone (there are 3) and cleared each one of the caches. | Huge 100gb of "others" in storage Posted: 30 Mar 2021 11:30 AM PDT so my little sister has a redmi 9 phone and recently she's been complaining about the lack of storage on it. I gave it a look and the phone is 98% full. mind you its a 128gb phone, I tried looking at the storage and it showed the apps,images, videos..etc all had normal space consumption. but the "other" was a huge 100gb, I tried cleaning the cache both from the clean up and manually and I tried digging around to find huge files but I couldn't find anything. i tried connecting it to my laptop but it would show that the phone was empty. thanks in advance [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 30 Mar 2021 08:24 AM PDT Is it possible to do this on devices launched with Android 9+ (using FBE by default) by modifying the userdata entry in fstab or similar, or have the current ROMs / kernels lost support to boot with this type of encryption? Are there any successful cases? I ask this because FBE is a nuisance for anyone who likes to modify their device. You need to format the userdata every time you change the ROM, consequently also losing the internal storage, different from how it was in FDE that just wiping data was enough. I have also had many problems with the device random not being able to unlock the userdata and forcing me to format it, which never happened when I had a device with FDE. (Does adjusting the speech rate slower make Google search voice response faster, and vice-versa?)) 2. The brand and model phone/device 3. Version of Android you're running (and any special UI) 4. Version of Google Text-to-Speech Engine 5. Version of Google Assistant Example:
SOLUTION: (This is really a temporary workaround for people experiencing this, as I suspect this doesn't affect everyone due to the scarcity of posts about it.) The speech rate setting may be working in reverse. Make your speech rate faster for slower voice, or slower for faster voice. And please let us know in the comments whether yours is reversed! DETAILS: In short: Google Assistant is being rolled out to devices and is replacing the voice responses we hear when using Google Search with the Google Assistant Voice, instead of what was formerly reading responses - the default Voice-to-Text engine on your device (whether that's Google's or another, like Samsung's). As a result, the voice will change. In at least some circumstances, the speed of this new Assistant's speech is controlled inversely by the phone's Voice to Text speech rate setting. It's literally backwards. An update about a month ago (you might have received it at a different time - Pixel phones had this for over a year), the Google Search voice was replaced with Google Assistant Voice. This changed the speed of the voice for myself and several people I know. We had the voice speech rate higher than normal and since this, the speech rate became extremely slow. After weeks of frustration, I dug in and discovered:
WHAT I TRIED IN MY OWN LIMITED TESTING I was using the India voice (in English) as my preferred Voice to Text speech voice before this change and I wanted it back. These are all the things I tried to get it back: From testing this myself on 3 Samsung Galaxy S10 phones:
I also tried to turn off Google Assistant Voice to see if I could get the previous voice engine to be restored. Anyone can turn it off in the settings under Google Assistant > General. I also disabled the two apps Google Assistant Apps (you have to enable displaying System Apps to see them), restarting the phone, switching the Text-to-Speech engine to Samsung's then back to Google's, then restarting the phone again did all of that did not work to stop it. Assistant Voice is still the voice used for Google voice searches. According to this article - Get Rid of Google Assistant on Your Android Device & Switch Back to Google Now - from 2016, the only way to make your phone stop using Google's Assistant voice without rooting it is to change the language from US English to one not yet supporting Google Assistant. They suggest 'US Virgin Island's English' because it's only available for the English market - or at least that was true in 2016. That might not work now. I also have a few Samsung apps that aren't updated, and I wonder if updating them would help fix this or affect this. I hope to make another post asking people if they're also experiencing this. Hopefully, with this poll, we can figure out which phones are being affected by the backwards speech rate setting. Maybe it's only Samsung phones with certain versions of software/apps. Maybe it's all non-Pixel phones. Maybe it's just a setting. Maybe there's an update that fixes it.By the way, my phone did receive an update for Google Text-to-Speech a few hours ago, bringing the version to 25.2.1.3616332836, dated March 29, 2021. It did not resolve the problem of the Text-to-Speech speech rate being literally backwards and wrong in how it controls the speed of the Google Assistant Voice speech rate. The problem still happens. | Posted: 30 Mar 2021 08:54 AM PDT I woke up one morning about a month ago and my phone told me it needed a software update. Being the responsible phone owner that I am, I immediately updated it. How does it repay me? It starts randomly restarting itself. No rhyme or reason to it. It's done it during phone calls, while using various apps, while sitting there not being used. And it doesn't go through the shutdown sequence, just goes black and then goes into the end of the little opening sequence - not even the full sequence. As such, I lose whatever I'm working on in the app or the phone call and all of my notifications. I'm on AT&T and asked at the local store if they had any ideas. They told me to get a new SD card because almost every time it restarts, it unmounts my SD card. They thought it was corruption or something in the SD card. So I did. I painstaking moved everything onto my phone and then back to the new SD card. No dice, still does it. The most recent restart has taken my photos and completely mixed them up. I have super old ones that say they were taken yesterday (the day of the last restart), so brought to the top of my camera gallery and they're not even all together. I have old Disney photos from one trip that are interspersed with photos I took weeks after at work. It's really annoying and I have no idea how to fix it, if I can. I had an app that I'd downloaded a few days before the update so I decided to delete it to see if it helped. No dice. Otherwise, I haven't added any new apps in ages. My storage isn't exceptionally full. I think it's about 60% full for both internal and SD card. I regularly go through and do smart cleaning. Sometimes it restarts several times a day. Sometimes it waits a few days to restart. There are no other software updates available. I can't plug it into the computer to do anything because the charging port decided one day to just randomly stop working. I use wireless charging now. Please help fix this annoying problem! ETA: recently (past couple of days) my phone has been randomly locking itself too. It just goes dark for a sec and then wakes up again on my lock screen.
