| How can I downgrade my Pixel 4 XL to Android 10? Posted: 23 Mar 2021 07:40 PM PDT I am wanting to flash TWRP on my Pixel 4 XL that I just bought. I have unlocked the bootloader and am able to enter fastboot mode. However, when I try to load TWRP via the bootloader, it freezes on the logo screen. According to what I have read online, TWRP doesn't support Android 11. So, I am looking to downgrade my Pixel 4 XL. I tried flashing the stock boot images of the Android 10 "Coral" family of Pixels from Google's website, but they all failed to boot. Is there a way to downgrade my phone? [link] [comments]  |

Posted: 23 Mar 2021 05:28 PM PDT I get spammed daily with scam texts such as the following: "Records show you may qua.lify for State fun...ding to help with rent (URL removed)" They are always from a different number so it's impossible to block the number. I'm wondering if there's an app that would allow me to disable notifications for any SMS I get from a number not on my contacts. Or even better, an app with a spam filter that will not show a notification and hide them from the main view if it's detected as spam. I assume I'm not the only person that experiences this, but couldn't find a way to do either after searching. Please help! [link] [comments]  |

The screen I was previously looking at is blurred. I have no idea how to turn it off and everything I've searched up has not helped me so far. What do I do, please explain step by step. | Cannot write to external sd card under Android 10 Posted: 23 Mar 2021 09:08 PM PDT With the implementation Android 10 along SAF and scoped storage, I found out it's impossible to write to the external SD card. Could not fine any file explorer able to write to the SD card, tried ES file explorer, root explorer, Solid Explorer, CX File Explorer and others without any success. It is impossible to even create a simple .txt file in the external SD card without any other solution than to plug the phone to my PC to do so. Has anyone found a solution that major problem? | Text to speech within the Google docs app Posted: 23 Mar 2021 06:16 PM PDT In my ongoing frustration with accessibility options on Android for the visually impaired (text to speech disables haptic feedback, you know, that thing you use to help you type when you can't see), I have spent an hour trying to figure out how to get text to speech/sleect to speech to work within the Google docs app on android. I can't think of what I'm missing but I refuse to think this is impossible. I enabled the option in my Google account to allow screen readers and still nothing. There's no option in a menu I can find when I select text within the document, and select to speech doesn't recognize the actual text of the document, only the menus and title. It only opens when I click a link on whatsapp which is annoying because it always open this chrome instead of the respective app like Google Meet or Zoom. Since last night, my banking apps, IMDb, Walmart and Samsung email keep stopping with the pop appearing saying so. Deleting them and then reinstalling them helps but eventually the apps keep stopping and the pop up appears. With the Samsung email and Walmart app I don't even use it and when I restart my phone it will say they keep stopping. I've cleared partition cache through boot loader and didn't help. Im wondering if there's a fix beyond factory reset or if that will even sort this out? [link] [comments]  |
| [Android 11] After update I can't open files from other apps Posted: 23 Mar 2021 09:49 PM PDT After I got update which installed Android 11 all my apps except default file manager can't open files. They can save, mostly, but opening PDF or DOCX file is just a pain. If I try opening, for example, PDF file from Telegram or Teams it won't work and just redirect me to Google bug report form. If I try adding files to my email than it won't add anything. But if I open or send file from default file manager. How can solve this? Can I roll back to that update and get back to Android 10? On one hand the Oneplus has a snapdragon chip and is much cheaper On the other hand the Galaxy has a slighter bigger battery, slightly bigger screen and a better camera. | Micro SD format issue on Ulefone Armor 10 5G running Android 10 Posted: 23 Mar 2021 05:35 PM PDT So after lots of experimenting. I finally figured out an issue with my new phone but unable to figure out a solution. I was having trouble transferring files from my computer to a micro SD card in my phone, I thought the card might be corrupted as it gave me issues before. So I bought a Sandisk Ultra Plus MicroSDXC UHS-I Card 256GB. The issue i'm having is when I put it in the phone it says tap to setup, and it gives me the option of either formatting it for "portable" storage or "internal" storage. If I format it for "Portable" it formats it to FAT32, which prevents me from transferring files over 4GB. But if I format "internal" then non of my apps register it as storage at all and it's completely useless. I've tried putting the card into a card reader in my computer, formatting it to exFAT and then reinserting it into my phone, but the phone insists I either format it to "Portable" or "Internal". The phones came out last year and it says in the specs it supports an SD card up to 2TB, so there shouldn't be a problem with 256GB. Any help is appreciated. At worst I guess I can just stick to smaller files but it's important because sometimes I have large video files. [link] [comments]  |
| I want to change my Primary Google Account Posted: 23 Mar 2021 08:50 AM PDT I wish to change my Primary Google Account as the current gmail address is a portmanteau using my dead name, however I don't want hard reset as I would lose my play store app history, and various settings and app data. Is there a way make a new Gmail Account and either transfer the data to the new account or make the old account a sub account? Update: Got a moment to just look up my inquiry on the internet. I have a Galaxy S10+ that I attempted to install system update 25 on. Phone had high battery and was plugged in at the time of install. Install was going normally, however when it went to reboot it kept getting stuck on the Verizon loading screen that follows the two Samsung boot screens. Essentially it is now stuck in a reboot loop. I attempted to launch in safe mode, still reboot loop. I can access the system recovery menu, and also attempted "wipe cache partition" which resulted in no change. Also powered it off from that screen and tried to start it again with no change. I understand I could factory reset it from this screen also, but I have some data stored on the internal storage of the phone which is not backed up anywhere (stupid I know). While this data is not critical, it is sentimental. I also have an option to apply an update from a SD card from the recovery menu. I was wondering if I found the next most recent update (24) and ran that update from a SD if that would have any chance of working without wiping data on the phone. The problem started after I updated Device Care app by Samsung. I don't know what is the problem exactly. Has this ever hhappened to you? How to fix the problem? Edit: I restarted the phone, cleared the data of IMDb app and the problem is still there. Edit 2: After I open an app, it starts behaving the same of the apps I said. I just opened Boost for Reddit to edit this post and I can no longer open it.
