| Opinion on current state of OnePlus with regards to Updates - From a loyal OnePlus fan! Posted: 25 Feb 2021 04:51 AM PST Till now i have been largely happy with OnePlus. Most of the criticisms against it had been overblown and were infact applicable to other brands too more or less. BUT... what is happening with regards to updates? Like seriously? OnePlus has completely lost the plot. And this year it is probably amongst the worst OEMs. A company like Samsung which has always been so damn slow has updated so many phones, from as low as M series to flagship S and Note series devices from a few years back to latest A11 while OnePlus is simply LOST! OnePlus has updated all in all 2 phones to A11 till now - yes, just 2 phones! It's horrible. While Samsung has not only updated plethora of devices, it also has upgraded it's update schedule to 3 years of Android updates and 4 years of security updates - Best in the industry, even better than Pixels. And where is OnePlus? Nowhere to be found. Lost in the Limbo. This is even worse when one thinks that OnePlus skin is so much lighter than Samsung skin and that Samsung didn't even participate in Google's Beta program while OnePlus did. While there are no benefits whatsoever to be seen till now from OnePlus and Oppo's official R&D merger under OPLUS(always have been one), all bad things about Oppo have already transferred to OnePlus - damn slow updates, buggy as hell, cheap Oppo knockoff devices. | Posted: 25 Feb 2021 12:46 PM PST Yo, I was hoping for a more technical experience with my phone when jumping ship from apple, but along with that, I got some technical issues. I wanted to try an android device but my experience sending and receiving messages as a whole is terrible. June 2020, I disconnected the service from my iPhone 7 and started service on my 8t UW 5G on a new phone number. I am unable to be apart of SMS group chats, can not send or receive media, and some devices just can't make contact with me at all. I don't know if it is the hardware, the messengers I have tried, or Verison that causes the issue but at this point, It's my fault for letting this issue persist. I like the company but my experience with this phone is at times no better than an apple device (heresy, I know). what device do y'all use and what has been your experience with it? | Posted: 25 Feb 2021 03:33 AM PST Like the title says ever since I set the frame rate of the camera app to 90Hz, clicking photos on it has been surprisingly responsive. I made a post just to check if it's only me or it really improves the responsiveness of the camera app. (You can set per app refresh rate or the overall refresh rate of the device by using the app AutoHz (by Arter97) it's a paid app but I think it's very much worth the price, OR you can use other ways but imo it's more convenient to do it by using the aforementioned app) [link] [comments]  |
| Flashing oxygen OS to chinese 6t issues Posted: 25 Feb 2021 07:01 PM PST Hello, I just recently bought a used 6t to upgrade from my oneplus ONE, and it ended up being a chinese model running on hydrogen OS 10.0.8. I want to get it running on oxygen and have it connected to google like I'm used to. I downloaded the 6t update zip from the official oneplus page, and transferred it to the phone. Then when I go to system update and attempt to local upgrade, it says system update installation failed and this version has no changelog. Any help would be greatly appreciated. [link] [comments]  |

When using nfc for pairing the aptx notify does not appear and no audio ia coming through the headphones. I tried forcing SBC through developer options but to no avail. [link] [comments]  |

| Does anyone lost hope about getting OOS 11 in Oneplus 6 ? Because I have Posted: 25 Feb 2021 07:44 AM PST That's very disappointing. OOS 10 was released the November 2 2019 and Android 11 since September 8. Almost 18 months after OOS 10 and 6 months after Android 11, we haven't got any more informations / release date about OOS 11. I'm losing hope days after days, even more when I see that even the Oneplus 7 struggles to get the update. Both phones are still eligible by Oneplus to get the update. For sure my last Oneplus. I have a S6 and it was a brick during the winter storm in Texas for myself. I also saw the Mous case and was pretty interested. It looks like it has a ton of durability and I love the magnetic thing on the back where you can attach a wallet or something. Looks like they don't make cases for the OnePlus yet. | Constant App Refresh - OnePlus 8 Pro Posted: 25 Feb 2021 12:53 PM PST Whenever I am within an app, say BBC News browsing an article, or Facebook scrolling down the feed, at any point (can be seconds, can be a minute or two) it will Refresh the app and return to the top. A good example is within Amazon shopping - if you go a few pages in, the app refreshes and then you are at the top of the first page. I recently reset the entire phone, went back to old firmware, etc. That fixed the issue temporarily, then came back today. I hadn't installed anything new to cause this - I think it may be ram or OS related? Anyone else had experience with this? [link] [comments]  |

| Youtube App crashing on OnePlus 7 Pro Posted: 25 Feb 2021 08:44 AM PST Last night I was watching YouTube perfectly fine, this morning I get up and wanna watch some YouTube, click on subscribe tab to go to my subscriptions, and it crashes. Then I click on a video on the feed and it crashes, then I finally get a video to pop up and it crashes then I do it again and it starts playing the ads, and as soon as the ads finish, it crashes. Anyone else having this issue? I don't wanna factory reset phone. There was no kind of update, and I already cleared app data and that done nothing. [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 24 Feb 2021 09:30 PM PST So all of a sudden my GPS stopped working. It can pinpoint a starting position, but it can't keep track of my movement. So for example, I open Google maps and set a route, it shows me the correct route and it has me starting from the correct place, but then when I move, the marker stays in the same spot. | How do i fix this fingerprint issue plz help on my 8t Posted: 24 Feb 2021 11:36 PM PST http://imgur.com/a/BXj0YLp - a video of the issue When i hold the fingerprint while unlocking, after unlocking the phone it opens the app thats at the location of the sensor in the app drawer. The issue is also describe in the thread below but i'm not able to find a fix. Its getting annoying. I contacted support about this previously. They told me to reset system cache but that didnt work either. Its been about a month since i got this phone from the oneplus website so i can't return it. I'm considering just sending it down for repair. Do you guys know any fix for this? Thanks. [link] [comments]  |
