I remember when they announced this intelligent charging feature that would charge the battery up to 80% over night, then, based on usage statistics, the phone would try and guess when the user is going to wake up and charge up the remaining battery capacity in time such that the phone is fully charged once needed. I don't know how long it has been exactly since this has been announced, but it's been a long while. From what I understand, this feature is live in the beta. But I refuse to endure constant loss of data, constant potentially unstable OS builds, etc. so I refuse to use the beta branch of oxygenOS, sorry. However.. When the f*k are they going to implement those features *(not only the battery thing but everything else they have in beta that is nowhere to be found in stable) into the stable branch of OOS? Is half a year of user testing not enough? I'm on a OP7P and recently received a system update, hoping that it would contain at least some new features, something noteworthy. But alas, it was merely just an android security patch update.. Is this phone dead? Hard to believe given the near on par hardware specs to more recent devices.. Does OP just not give a shite about this device anymore? That's probably it I presume.. Could anyone please explain the lack of noteworthy system updates? Please? [link] [comments]  |

No light turned on, and I got no indication that it was charging at all. I've tried a couple things I found online: pressing the power button down 5 times for 20 seconds; holding the down volume button and power button for 15 seconds; leaving it off charge for 12 hours and then charging it for 6 hours; and nothing has worked. Have always wanted to have a OnePlus because of their simplicity and the 8 Pro in blue, to me is the most beautiful phone I've seen. 2 days and I honestly love it. The battery life is way better, the 120hz is amazing, the customisation options straight out the box and other things are pretty great. | Unable to disable dual 4g option. Posted: 24 Feb 2021 04:25 PM PST Im using jio in sim 1 and vodafone in sim 2. However when using jio data , im able to use dual 4g toggle though as soon as i switch to vodafone data , im unable to disable dual 4g network , even after switching it off, it turns back on. It has caused Dual 4G network to be always ON. Earlier on pie i had never faced any such issue. This issue is faced by only OnePlus 6 & 7 users on android 10. I know ibcan disable the sim but why forced fual 4g option ? Are any user of OnePlus 8 or further are facing the same. I don't want to go back to pie fir such small issue. They forced the download a few weeks back and I haven't rebooted the phone since because it will auto install. Are gestures the same? Does GCam still work? I could enable both option in the BETA version, I don't know why it no longer allows me to enable both after updating to the latest build. So can anyone in the latest OOS10 build confirm whether they also get this message when trying to enable both feature. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments]  |
| External microphone problems on 8t Posted: 24 Feb 2021 09:09 AM PST Hello r/oneplus I recently upgraded to an 8t and am having a blast. The only issue is that I can't seem to use my external microphone with the phone. I will link the mic below, but it's a USB-C mic so it plugs in directly to my charging port, no adapter required. I have tried using third-party apps like Open Camera to force the phone to use an external mic, and it still does not pick up sound. The microphone confirmed works with my laptop, so it's not broken. OnePlus support was not very helpful so I ended up here. Does anyone have experience with external microphones and the 8t? Is it possible that the phone is just too new to function with the cheap microphone? Posted: 24 Feb 2021 02:27 PM PST hey everyone! i'm looking to purchase tws earphones to use with my oneplus 7t pro mclaren edition, and ever since the oneplus buds (original, not oneplus buds z) have been released, i've been inclined to purchasing them. however, lately in the US, they've been out of stock on both amazon and oneplus' website (oneplus website had them for about 2 days recently, but went out of stock again as of this morning). i'm very tempted to purchase them the next time they come back in stock, as i've been waiting for over 6 months to pull the trigger on them. do you guys think they're worth buying now? note: airpods fit me well - i presume oneplus buds fit similarly, so fit should not be a problem for me [link] [comments]  |

More over my camera icon and calculator became square again while my settings icon is green (default android style) When delving into the setting i no longer have the option to change between the OnePlus iconpacks. Oneplus is not just updating the UI it is making moved against customisation nad breaking things that worked fine, has anyone found a fix? [link] [comments]  |
| Weird new behaviour in SMS app - OP7pro Posted: 24 Feb 2021 09:26 AM PST So I have always had issues with the stock SMS app in this phone. From sending me heads up notifications of texts I just sent, to phantom "dings" when there are no new messages, to unarchiving the same six text conversations every time I reboot the phone..... This phone has been GREAT, except for a very buggy SMS app. I have tried other apps, but the results are never very good, so I end up going back to messages every time. Anyway, this morning it's started a new fun feature.... I have rebooted, I have wiped cache for the device, and I have wiped the cache for the messages app, and the "feature" persists. In the messages app, if I swipe to archive a message, once it has archived the message, it will "select" the next message in the list, by putting a checkmark on the icon corresponding to the message/conversation. Kinda like if you're doing a batch select. I then have to hit back to un-select it. The weird part of this glitch is that if I swipe slower, it doesn't do the auto-select thing.... It's very difficult to explain. I am just putting this out there to see if anyone else has experienced this glitch??? Edit: here's a video of the feature in action... [link] [comments]  |

I bought the OnePlus 3T for my wife, and it was (and still is) a great phone. But sometime around the OnePlus 3T/OnePlus 4, OnePlus kind of changed as a company. They started as producing phones that are flagship killers, which they accomplished by using great internal components, and having no-nonsense external components (i.e. the OPO didn't have "premium" materials like metal and glass all around the outside). OnePlus makes great phones still, but in my mind they are basically flagship competitors - they stand toe-to-toe with the flagships from other big companies and they're pretty comparable in terms of everything - including price and those "premium" materials. So are there any OPO fans out there that have found a phone that is similar in spirit to the OPO? Great internals, no need for premium materials on the outside so you can get a great performing phone at a lower price? Just interested if anyone has found anything like that. [link] [comments]  |

Dunno why this is happening but I posted this issue to /r/OnePlus8Pro too. I'm hoping someone knowledgeable can help me zero in on the rogue app or process causing this.
