    Hello all,

Has anyone here gotten the Mi 10i (Indian variant for Mi 10T lite i guess)? I noticed that it doesn't have 2 LEDs for flash light, can anyone check their phone and confirm? Or have I got a defective phone?

Thanks for any help in advance!

OTA update MIUI 12 rooted with Magisk but with stock recovery untouched

    Posted: 14 Jan 2021 02:09 PM PST

My Poco X3 has got the newest update, and I want to install it, however I am afraid to touch the restart button, because I read that it might brick my phone if it's rooted and a full fastboot reflash will be required for it to work with the newest update. However, I do not want to install everything all over again if I'd somehow break it (I can't make a full backup because the latest TWRP/Orangefox for my device does not support mounting of some partitions yet). That's why I have left the original recovery on, in hopes of being able to install OTA updates without needing full reflash, and besides installing Magisk, a custom one would still be useless if it cannot mount some important partitions.

Do I have to unroot my phone first, or will I be good to go?

If I'd only lose root due to the boot partition getting overwritten, if I'd install the Magisk zip again, would I lose all my previously installed modules and manager options?

What are the chances of the update bricking the phone, and in what cases could it happen?

Phone hot and new battery draining even when switched off

    Posted: 14 Jan 2021 08:18 PM PST

My Mi A2 overheated a few days ago and would no longer hold charge or switch on. I decided to change the battery thinking that was the culprit.

As soon as I put the new battery in, the motherboard got warm where the battery connects and the fingerprint sensor is, before the phone was even switched on.

I switched the phone on, it started fine, but the battery drained extremely quickly. I switched it off and tried charging it, but it loses charge faster than it can be charged. I can't get it past the Android logo startup screen before it goes blank.

Any ideas what might be causing it?

MIUI 12 Update Ruined My Phone

    Posted: 14 Jan 2021 01:10 PM PST

I own Redmi Note Pro 8. I love my phone. It was an amazing purchase and I especially loved the default camera app which had some nice filters which I use for photography a lot. It was running MIUI 11. I heard quite a few horror stories about people updating to 12, so I never did. But a week ago, somehow the thing installed automatically. I am not exactly sure how. But now the phone shows that it has MIUI version 12.

The phone became so bad, I cannot even describe. For one, and this is very important for me as I travel a lot and I can't always have my camera on me, the Camera app and the quality of photos become much worse. The colors are absolute bland and just worse than before. Also, alll of my favourite filters, especially the one called "calm" is gone and replaced with crappy filters that make the photos even uglier.

Then there is the instability issues. The phone crashes, freezes, the apps do not persist and randomly disable themselves, etc. Then there are absolutely ANNOYING UI glitches like how the status bar and the bottom navigation buttons DO NOT HIDE when you are in fullscreen. Nowhere. The keyboard become unrespnsive and it often stays on top of the screen for no reason. Half of my lockscreen is keyboard which you cannot even touch.

Everything I loved about my phone is gone, and the phone is now a chore to use. Is there any way for me to "downgrade" back to MIUI 11??? MIUI 12 made my phone unbearable to use.

Mi 3H purifier sensor fan noise

    Posted: 14 Jan 2021 02:59 PM PST

Has anybody managed to clean/lube the fan next to the laser sensor to get it back to being quiet? It really went to town today and I feel like I'm going crazy with this invisible man with a tiny drill just bzzzzing continuously.

Does anybody have a guide on how to open the enclosure where the fan sits so I can try and wd40 the bearings on it or see of there's anything stuck in it? Blowing air didn't help.

Just updated to MIUI 12.0.3 and there are some problems

    Posted: 14 Jan 2021 08:53 AM PST

    Hello,

    I have a Redmi Note 8.

The first problem is when I'm talking with someone on speaker or bluetooth - the other side can't hear me.

The other issue that a single tap on Bluetooth doesn't turn it on or off, and I have to push on it for a few seconds and open it then via the menu.

Any suggestions? I would've roll back but it seems like a lot of work.

    Thanks!

MIUI 12.1.3. rolling out on Mi 10 Lite 5G - did it fix bugs?

    Posted: 14 Jan 2021 10:54 AM PST

Before updating I want to ask those that did - are notification looking weird, phone being slow and baterry drain fixed or not? If not and update just brings new bugs I will skip for now.

What custom Rom would you recommen for my redmi note 8t?

    Posted: 14 Jan 2021 07:00 AM PST

So I unlocked the boatloader and installed twrp, and flashed lineageOS. I really like it, but I want to try more custom roms. They should be based on android 10 or 9. I'm pretty open for anything. It's not necessary to be a official custom rom, unofficial are fine as well.

Redmi Note 8 Pro Headphone Problems

    Posted: 14 Jan 2021 01:48 PM PST

I switched from Redmi 5 to a Redmi Note 8 Pro some months ago. Basically I noticed, that my headphones sound much better when I´m using them with my old Redmi 5. On Redmi 5 I had loud volume, good bass and they were working without any problems.

Now my volume is lower most of the time and as soon as you try to tune your sound with the equalizer it sounds really bad (not comparable to Redmi 5 sound quality). I tried to change my region, didn´t do that much. What I´ve noticed is that if I just go into spotify and listen to music the sound volume is relatively low. When I let the music play in background and watch an instagram story with sound, my spotify music will get much louder after it.

Does anyone have some similar problems and knows how to fix it?

    Using MIUI 12.

Redmi Note 9 Pro low quality Night mode images

    Posted: 14 Jan 2021 09:56 AM PST

Shooting at night with regular camera, pictures are really noisy and lack detail. But when using night mode, images have washed out gray areas... anyone else having these problems? And is this something that can be fixed with future updates?

My old MiA2 was more capable of shooting at night and produced better quality images

Questions about the vacuum mop pro

    Posted: 14 Jan 2021 01:16 PM PST

I am looking at buying a robot vacuum and specifically the thing that interests me about the mop pro is that it can do mop and vacuum in one go. I do have a few questions though I'd appreciate if someone can answer:

    1) does this model have carpet detection? I.e in either vacuum or vacuum mode can it detect carpets and climb over them? I saw a video where the vacuum was stuck between two carpets and would not climb over

    2) can I set up cleaning so I tell it that in my kitchen and hallway and washrooms where I have tile it does both vacuum and mop, and my bedrooms and living room it only does vacuum? If I can't do this in one step, is it possible as a two step process, I.e set up two scheduled cleanings, one at 3 am to vacuum and mop hallway and kitchen and washrooms and one at 5 am for vacuuming bedrooms and living room ?

    3) battery: this has a smaller 3200 mah battery, but I'm not sure how long it will last in my 130 sq m 3 bedroom 2 washroom apartment. Can I get it to vacuum the whole place in one charge ? What about mop and vacuum? Will it need a recharge in the s or y mode cleaning ?

    4) water level detection: I see some descriptions claiming this has a sensor to detect when water is low or finished so it doesn't just drag a dry mop, but then some reviews specifically mention that it does not have this feature and that the mop runs dry when water is finished. What is the reality ?

    5) water container size: how much mopping can the vacuum do before needing a refill? Can it clean my kitchen, hallway and 2 washroom on one full of the 2 in 1 container ?

6)model number confusion: I see there are two models listed for the pro. One is model xm200023 which I've found on amazon turkey, Spain, South Africa, and one is styj02ym. This second one is the one commonly found in reviews so I'm wondering if these are different in some way

    7) comparison to roborocks s6 and s6 pure. I like the xaiomi better because of the two in one vacuum and mop container allowing it to do both at the same time instead of switching containers. But the roborock seem to have better reviews and functions otherwise plus better English app.

    8) water leak problem: during some googling I found that there is some fix for the mop pro vacuum as water leaks from the container into the body of vacuum damaging it. Has this been fixed recently or still an issue ?
