Why are my saved pictures from an app being put into a whole new folder when a folder for said app already exists?????

    Posted: 13 Jan 2021 11:12 PM PST

    Exactly as the title states.

I save many pictures from Tumblr and I can usually find them in the Tumblr folder in my gallery. Just now as I was on the app and saving pictures, after that I went to my gallery to check em out, I realised there's now a whole new folder for all the new saved pictures named weirdly like 'Tumblr_19'.

Why is this happening? How can I stop this and have the phone start saving pictures to the original folder again?

Would really appreciate some help. Thanks!

    Note 10 Pro screen flickering?

    Posted: 13 Jan 2021 11:11 PM PST

    Hi all,

My Xiaomi Note 10 Pro's screen suddenly started flickering while I was using it. It's never happened before and it's been flickering for a week now. The phone is not usable, I'm out of warranty and I have no idea what to do. Anyone here faced a similar issue? I've seen the same problem on Youtube.

No smart connection with Mi true wireless earphone 2

    Posted: 13 Jan 2021 08:26 PM PST

I have bought a new Xiaomi mi 10 ultra (Chinese) It won't connect to my earphones with the smart connection like how apple does it. I guess it's because I got the global version of the earphones

If it is, I'll just deal with it with Bluetooth because they are still very nice.

    Cheers reddit

Xiaomi Mi Laptop Pro can I connect 2 extra monitors?

    Posted: 13 Jan 2021 07:21 PM PST

Hello, I have this model: Xiaomi Mi Laptop Pro 15.6 inch Intel Core i7-10510U NVIDIA GeForce MX250 16GB DDR4 RAM 1TB SSD.

So it has HDMI and I have one monitor connected but my laptop also has 2x type-c ports (one I use to charge laptop, another is unused), so my questions:
    1. Can I use type-c port to connect one more monitor which has type-c connection and use laptop screen + 2extra monitors?
    2. Can I connect type-c - hdmi adaptor to connect another monitor which used hdmi?

What would be your suggestions? I really need to connect one more monitor and use all 3 at once, I currently use XIAOMI 23.8-Inch IPS 1080P as my second monitor, thank you!

Redmi Note 8 WIFI connection Problem

    Posted: 13 Jan 2021 08:22 AM PST

Yesterday i updated My Redmi Note 8 (NOT pro) to the latest miui rom (V12.0.3 Global) and i'm having wifi connection problems. When i switch off the wifi and switch it back on i am unable to connect to the router it just keeps on saying that it's saved but weird enough the phone is able to connect to my laptop's wifi hotspot. The only time it's able to reconnect is when i'm forced to reboot my phone.

I have tried resetting the WI-FI, mobile networks, and bluetooth several times and i'm still unable to connect to the router but other phones/devices that i have are able to connect. Also i even went as far to do a phone factory reset and also restting my router but all in vain. This is the first time i've ever experienced such a problem but never in MIUI 11. Kindly assist, thanks in advance

Don't disturb mode on redmi note 8

    Posted: 13 Jan 2021 01:53 PM PST

I recently upgraded from redmi note 7 to note 8, previously I upgraded from the 6 and loved a feature I saw in the 7 about the don't disturb mode. I could silence notifications but not phone calls and the notification light turned on when it was locked. Now, I struggled a lot finding the same feature in the 8 (it also changed to miui 12), in miui 11, the light would turn on, but I simply turned the volume down for calls and notifications, but it interrupted the music, now I have miui 12 and I can set the notification tone to nothing and turn the volume up for calls, BUT the light doesn't flash anymore. (Sorry, english is not my first language) basically, I don't want floating notifications or notification sounds, I want sound when I get calls and want the flashing light when phone is locked, all of this was possible in redmi note 7. Hope someone can help :(

    Fast charging? Two bolts?

    Posted: 13 Jan 2021 05:09 PM PST

When I first charged my phone back in July I would always have two lightning bolts simbols next to the battery (fast charging 33W) and now I only have one and Ampere says it charging at 4v 4a. Is that fast charging? Do i need to change the cable or something?

Flashing a Global stock boot.img on an European build (Xiaomi Mi A3)?

    Posted: 13 Jan 2021 04:39 PM PST

    Hello everyone,

im pretty much new to the whole rooting scene and i've read a bit about it.

Im looking into rooting my phone without TWRP (patching a stock boot.img over Magisk) and was looking for boot images. I've found an image which is Global, yet i'm not exactly sure if flashing the image (V12.0.3.0.RFQMIXM) is "possible" on an European build/phone (V12.0.2.0.RFQEUXM). If the link to the boot.img is required, i can send it.

So i'm asking here about an advice if it should be done or not. Any answer is welcome.

Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite review: Basic, but all-around good

    Posted: 13 Jan 2021 03:40 PM PST

Xiaomi devices are popular because they're good and affordable. That is true for the company's smartphones and fitness trackers, and it's starting to be the case for its smartwatches, too.

The Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite is a basic smartwatch with a surprising amount of fitness features. If you're wondering if you should spend your money on this ultra-cheap smartwatch, read our full Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite review.

What you need to know about the Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite

The Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite is yet another ultra-cheap smartwatch from the Chinese brand. It only costs €50 (~$60), slotting it in nicely between Xiaomi's popular Mi Band line and the recently released Xiaomi Mi Watch. Eagle-eyed fans might also recognize it as a rebranded Redmi Watch.

Although it has a traditional smartwatch form factor, it's best to think of the Mi Watch Lite simply as a Mi Band with a larger screen. There are important differences between the two, but its focus is on fitness, not smartwatch features.

What I like about the Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite

Plenty of sport modes and fitness features

One would expect a €50 smartwatch to make some sacrifices in hardware. While that's certainly true for the Mi Watch Lite, it comes with a surprisingly good spec sheet for the price.

The Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite has a built-in GPS, an optical heart rate sensor, and a 5ATM water resistance rating. We'll talk accuracy in a second, but the fact that it has onboard GPS+GLONASS (not connected GPS) is great news for runners.

It can also track a variety of sport modes. Those include outdoor running, treadmill, trail running, indoor and outdoor cycling, walking, open water swimming, pool swimming, cricket, hiking, and freestyle workouts.

The Mi Watch Lite's GPS is about as accurate as that of the Mi Watch. That is to say, it's okay, not great. On numerous outdoor runs, the Mi Watch showed me running through rivers and on the other side of the street, even with little cloud and tree coverage. It was surprisingly more accurate than my Garmin Fenix 6 Pro in some areas, but not by much.

The Mi Watch Lite's heart rate sensor can monitor your heart rate all day in 30, 10, 5, or 1-minute increments or with manual spot-checks throughout the day. It can also alert you if your heart rate goes above a normal level during inactivity.

The Mi Watch Lite's heart rate sensor has been quite accurate in my testing. See below for a four-mile treadmill run:

Throughout multiple points in the run, the Mi Watch Lite was able to keep up exactly with the Wahoo Tickr X chest strap and the Garmin Fenix 6 Pro. All three devices matched up in the peaks of high heart rate periods, and again in the big valley midway through the run.

It's not perfect, however. The Xiaomi Wear app smooths the data too much for my liking and doesn't allow for data exports. Nevertheless, it's an all-around good heart rate sensor.

Xiaomi says the Mi Watch Lite can last up to nine days on a single charge. My testing shows that claim is accurate.

I've been using the watch every day for sleep tracking, notifications, and a handful of workouts each week. Currently, I'm on track to get the full nine days of charge. If you work out nearly every day, though, you may see reduced battery life.

The charger included in the box is fine. It's proprietary (hello e-waste) and not very attractive. However, it allows for a nice bedtime clock view when the watch is plugged in.

    Sleep tracking

The Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite is a good sleep tracker. Like other Xiaomi wearables, it keeps track of your total time asleep, deep, light, and REM sleep. It then gives you a sleep score from 0-100 based on how well you slept. Overall, the charts in the Xiaomi Wear app are easy to read.

Nevertheless, there are a few limitations. It does not track naps or daytime sleeping. If you have an unconventional sleep schedule, the Mi Watch Lite won't be the sleep tracker for you. I'd also like Xiaomi to improve its sleep score implementation a bit. Right now, it's light on the details on where the score comes from. It doesn't give many details on how to improve your sleep score either.

A few other tidbits I liked about the Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite:

Firstbeat workout analysis: Like the Xiaomi Mi Watch, the Mi Watch Lite offers detailed post-workout analysis. It is provided by Firstbeat, the now Garmin-owned analytics company. After your workout, you'll see your total time, distance, calorie burn, steps taken, average and max cadence, average/max/min pace, average speed, heart rate, heart rate zones, and VO2 max.

    • The watch faces: Xiaomi doesn't allow for third-party watch faces, but it offers plenty of nice first-party options. There are over 120 available for download through the Xiaomi Wear app.
    • The basic apps are all here: While the Mi Watch Lite doesn't have support for third-party apps, it comes with all the basic pre-loaded apps you'd expect. There is a guided breathing app, a compass, an air pressure app, an alarm, a stopwatch, a timer, a weather app, a flashlight, as well as the ability to control your phone's music.

I know I just praised the watch face options for the Mi Watch Lite, but surprisingly the on-device software is a notable step down from the Mi Watch proper.

Everything is set up in mostly the same way. You swipe down for notifications, up for quick settings, left or right for widgets, and press the button for the all-apps screen. Yet, there are a few omissions that bring the overall experience a step down. For one, there are zero software animations. That sounds nit-picky, but in reality, it makes using the smartwatch a pain. As a result, the Mi Watch Lite feels laggier than I think it actually is. I don't know if my touches are registering until the next page of the settings menu shows up.

There's also no haptic feedback which adds to the annoyance. Little things like haptics and animations help you connect with the device you're using. Without them, you feel like you're swiping around and hoping the swipes register.

    Related: The best smartwatch deals

Here are a few more quality-of-life features missing from the Mi Watch Lite:

    • There's no always-on display, likely because the Mi Watch Lite uses an LCD panel instead of OLED.
    • There's no option to automatically turn on do not disturb mode while you're sleeping. If you forget to mute notifications before bedtime, be ready to see that bright LCD light up when you receive a late-night email.

You'd think the Mi Watch Lite's software would be on the same level as Xiaomi's other devices.

Redmo Note 8 Pro started freezing all the time

    Posted: 13 Jan 2021 08:04 AM PST

So I only recently had this issue, in the past few days and this literally prevents me using my phone. The smallest processing power required freezes the phone completely, like watching videos, gliding a website or having very minimal animations to actions, like the keyboard popping hp or things like this. (Speculation mostly it happens so often sometimes I can not even send a message to anyone for whole 10 minuits)

    Phone details

I have no idea if an update trashed my phone or something else.

Anyone has an idea what could cause this?
