Thinking of getting Xiaomi Mi10T Pro?

    Posted: 25 Jan 2021 03:29 AM PST

    Hi,

I'm seriously considering going for the Xiaomi Mi10T Pro. Looking for owners opinions on the phone. Currently I have a Oneplus 7T Pro and I'm looking for a change. 1 thing I'm not a fan of is a curved screen. This is what is stopping me getting the Mi 11

Battery life greatly reduced since update

    Posted: 25 Jan 2021 10:19 PM PST

As the title says. Full battery would last even 2 days when phone was used a lot and there would still be some left before putting it to the charger. Now even when I'm not using it battery is getting drained. In battery usage it says that screen is using almost 70% of fhe battery and that was pretty much the case before the update as well but it didn't use the battery so fast. Screen is set to 60Hz, auto brightness, dark mode, automatic reading mode, no fancy stuff...

    MIUI Gallery video compression limit

    Posted: 25 Jan 2021 10:08 PM PST

Hello, I'm new to Reddit I have Mi note 10 and usually take 4K videos. MIUI Gallery offer compression for Video that is fast and efficient due to hardware HEVC encoding. The problem is it only allow compression of 4K video upto 3Gb. Anything higher than that need to reduce resolution. My videos are usually bigger than 3Gb so i need to compress with Laptop which dont have hardware HEVC encoding. So, can anyone remove the Gb limit in Gallery Apk? Thanks

Android auto not working on MI9

    Posted: 25 Jan 2021 12:14 PM PST

    Hello all

I received my new car (Skoda Octavia) today, which has Android Auto compatibility. However, I can't seem to get my Mi9's Android Auto to work on it. I keep getting the error message 'Unable to link Mi9' on my car.

I tried it with AA version 5.2 and the most recent version of AA on MIUI 12.0.4 & MIUI 12.0.3. For the most recent AA version, my screen starts 'flipping' on the USB-option screen. With the 5.2 version, it starts connecting but it doesn't seem to succeed.

I also enabled multiple apps to autostart (Waze, Spotify, Telephone, AA) but this also didn't help - or am I missing Android Auto apps? Furthermore, I don't have any dual apps active at the moment.

Anyone else any tips to get it to work?

MIUI 10.0.2.0 kinda broke my micro SD

    Posted: 25 Jan 2021 09:36 PM PST

Small PSA for everyone who is getting this update on their Note 9 Pro, since after the update there's a notification bubble saying "Issue with SD card".

I'll have to find an adapter to plug the SD on my pc to check if it's actually fine.

    Posted: 25 Jan 2021 03:29 PM PST

I have a Mi 8 Pro right now and I want ro upgrade it. Mi 11 and Mi 10 Ultra roughly cost same here and I can't decide. I like Mi 11's 2k screen and new 888 processor, cameras and 120W charging of the Mi 10 Ultra. which one i should go for?

Notification issues on Poco F2 Pro

    Posted: 25 Jan 2021 09:06 PM PST

I've been having some weird notification issues on my Poco F2 Pro. It started with me not receiving notifications from FB Messenger, or I'd get them like 1/2 - 1 hour late, then this started happening with Instagram, and it's now started happening to my texts, so it's now like an actual issue.

I've disabled the MiUi battery saver on those apps, cleared caches, can't get anything to work.

I also can't seem to find anything online about it.

    Phone's running Android 11.

If anyone has had a similar issue, let me know.

    Mi Mix 3 screen protector

    Posted: 25 Jan 2021 08:47 PM PST

Hello, I was just wondering if the screen protectors for a mi 9t would also fit the mi mix 3? The dimensions appear the same on paper so I'm hoping they fit.

I've got some spare mi 9t tempered glass protectors so I hope I can use those and avoid purchasing new ones.

    Cheers.

What to do in a soft-brick.

    Posted: 25 Jan 2021 04:11 AM PST

So recently, I soft-bricked my phone (Redmi Note 5/ 5 plus), and thanks to /u/HoldMyBeerPal, he mentioned that once you unlock the bootloader, and then flash using miFlash, and if you happened to select clean all + lock, there is hope because you can still unlock the bootloader. You don't even need to go to settings, enable all the options. THIS IS A LIFESAVER.

One tiny problem you may have is where the data partition becomes encrypted. If this is the case, format data, wipe what is needed. I cannot remember the exact stuff which needs to be wiped, but after wiping, install your rom and gapps. wipe caches and reboot, and boom your done.

this saved me from a potential whooping lmfao

Xiaomi Mi 10 or Xiaomi Mi 10T(for the same price)?

    Posted: 25 Jan 2021 05:47 PM PST

So I have moved the discussion here in new post for reddit to decide my next phone.

    • Mi 10T has much much better battery life and 120hz screen(thanks to adaptive refresh and larger battery)

    • Mi 10 has OIS and has 90hz AMOLED

I play a lot of demanding games and I like photography and watch alot of youtube. Also take into account battery degradation because I will use one of these phones for 2 years.

Anyone know of a phone that's similar to the size of the Redmi 7a?

    Posted: 25 Jan 2021 07:25 AM PST

    Hi!

I bought a 7A last year, and I'm looking for similar priced small sized phones for my mom. The problem seems to be that all xiaomi phones I've looked at are 6"+ and she wants a small/medium sized phone like mine. Also the 7a doesn't seem to be discounted anymore in the UK at least, and the newer phones seem to go at better prices but are huge.

Can anyone recommend a 5"-6" phone that's not too expensive and runs android? We don't want to buy the new iphone se 2020.

    Thanks!
