Posted: 31 Jan 2021 03:03 AM PST Hi all I am looking for some good note taking app that's as simple as Google but has more features such as formatting tools, and that you can have text and check list in same note. I tried using notion, it is quite nice i love editing super simple but it's not so simple and quick to get started, too much stuff in there. One note is pretty nice, I like it but I get annoyed when editing on phone as its not just easy scrolling down(don't like that it's a big page and you can move side to side and formatting text is a bit more difficult than notion. The app needs to sync windows/browser/android Any other recommendations? Thanks guys! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Jan 2021 10:35 AM PST One of the features I liked the most on Firefox were bookmark keywords. They've already been dropped on Firefox Android a while ago, and could also be removed from the desktop versions. The closest I've found are Conjure and Sesame Shortcuts, but those only let you define one search engine. NB: those programs are usually called launchers on desktop environments, but they're not exactly the same as Android launchers. They're also sometimes called app runners. The feature I'm looking for is obviously not launching or running apps, which lots of launchers can do just fine, but specifically making custom web queries, which is why I didn't put "launcher" in the title. I have to talk about Speaker Cleaner app Posted: 31 Jan 2021 04:30 AM PST Okay, this post might be brought down or removed. But please read till the end. It's not an amazing story, but it's been years since an app really made me think about the random useless and in my case completely useful things a phone can do. Disclaimer: I have no affiliation with the developer of this app. The app: Speaker Cleaner. Here's my story, I am an intern at a teaching hospital. And I was on swab duty. Things were okay, when suddenly I realized that the protective Bag that my phone was in was torn. So I had to sanitize it carefully, little did I know about what was to happen! Some fluid managed to enter the speaker grille and this messed with the internals. The sound from the speakers were muffled. Hours later I came across this app called speaker Cleaner, I downloaded it as a joke thinking that this phone was done for. I opened it and pressed "clean". The app made my phone vibrate and made a weird whirring sound. And just like that! The issue was resolved. This sounds childish but I am truly amazed how the app worked. The frequency of the vibration most have cleared the droplets left behind while the remaining must have evaporated (the sanitizer being volatile and all). But I had to share this experience here. I really hope I am not posting at the wrong sub reddit, and I still don't know how to link apps. [link] [comments] |

With Your Calendar Widget you can manage your events and Google Tasks right from the homescreen, lookscreen and notification bar. The widget is highly customizable and provides many predefined configuration out of the box. Hope you enjoy it! Posted: 31 Jan 2021 07:13 AM PST I know the question is SUPER broad but I just want to focus my attention towards positive activities instead of wasting it on YouTube, reddit and, if I'm being honest, porn. Just looking for something that puts me on an overall better path. [link] [comments] |
Fun bug on 16.03.07 version of YT app (non premium users) Posted: 31 Jan 2021 10:16 AM PST If I exit to home screen while an ad is playing I'm able to use the PIP mode. maybe this is just a happy bug for me? Or did this become standard and I missed it? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Jan 2021 05:08 AM PST On Jan. 1, one of my Internet radio stations doubled in listeners overnight with a whole bunch of new listeners with User Agents in the form "Current/1.xx.x (Linux;Android x) ExoPlayerLib/2.11.0" with the Current/number ranging from 1.51.3 up to 1.71.1 and Android version from 8.1 to 11. Over the next four weeks this User Agent has increased the listener numbers on that station over six-fold and still steadily increasing. But this User Agent, which I had never seen before, still has never been used to connect to my other two stations. So, some Android app has added one station but not the other two stations. I've searched and searched and can find any mention of this User Agent. I'm happy about the new listeners but insanely curious as to what's going on. Thanks. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Jan 2021 06:22 AM PST I hope this is the right subreddit to ask. I'm looking for an icon pack with lines, and it seems like Linex and Linebit are the most popular. They both look nice and I can't decide which one to get. Linex says it has 5000+ icons, while Linebit claims to have 4000+. Im not concerned about the price difference (Linex is 25% cheaper than Linebit in my region). Do the Linebit icons look better or should I buy Linex because it has more icons (so that more of my apps will likely get themed)? I would prefer not to buy both when I'll end up only using one, so any replies would be helpful! Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Jan 2021 11:50 AM PST Replacement for Gmail, that does just a good a job predicting contacts, and adding new email addresses to contacts. Can't loose any features, but there must be someone doing a better job? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 31 Jan 2021 05:18 AM PST I've got a new tab layout and it's extra effort switching to incognito and default. Also if I open multiple tabs of a said website, it groups them, so again extra effort to go to a tab. I really hate this, how do I go back to the old stacked view? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 31 Jan 2021 10:06 AM PST I am just about to publish my memory game, but the early access is already available for public. It is a good old memory game with some changes. 14 levels (from super-easy with 4 pairs, up to pretty hard with 56 pairs). The background one sees when the cards are shown might be different for the pairs (easier), or the same (hardest). Two different game types - pair texts, or pair images. Four text games:
Two image games, each with two sub-games:
It is available in the play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.webword.wordme Enjoy! All games and all levels are free. You may purchase the ad-free version, or the offline capability (downloads the content to your phone, no need to download it from the server before every level). Interstitial (full page) ads appear only between the levels. I am very grateful for any kind of feedback. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 31 Jan 2021 09:07 AM PST Hello, I have an android phone and will be getting another android when the time comes. For the artwork I'm choosing photos that are in my gallery that I've downloaded. I delete the photos from my gallery after they're applied but doubletwist still keeps the image applied to the album. I feel like it's only in app cache on this phone and wont carry over to a new phone so I'm worried about spending a lot of time applying all the artworks if they arent going to show up when I transfer my music to my new phone. Is anyone familiar with this? Thank you so much [link] [comments] |
Flipboard-like UX in other apps? Posted: 31 Jan 2021 08:24 AM PST First of all I fail to understand why Flipboard has gone back from the flip-like experience for many publishers to normal scrolling UX. That being said, I don't know why no other app has emulated that UX in say an RSS reader or ebook reader or any other app. Or are there apps that I don't know of? [link] [comments] |
