Here's the deal. My dog's name is Cami. As you might expect, I talk about her a lot. When I try to use her name in text, though, what appears is either camo, cabi, or cabo. It doesn't even try to add her name into the rotation. For added fun, when I say "Cami's," the phone has no trouble with it. I've added Cami's name to the dictionary in settings and tweaked the autocorrect settings. Every time I manually enter it, I tap it in the suggestion bar to confirm its the word I want. Posted: 23 Jan 2021 09:40 PM PST Hey I bought a new (to me) Samsung A71 on android 10 ( one UI 2.5) coming from a Huawei P20 Lite on android 9 (EMUI 9) My Huawei had the capability to disable wifi and data for each individual app. I liked to do this for apps/games that DD not need wifi so I wouldn't get ads and also so apps don't burn through my data when I'm not on wifi. I was wondering where it was on my Samsung as I can't find it. Also - permissions are so much harder to manage. I would've totally bought a P40 if my provider had it. | Why does Samsung Notes need access to my contacts when I try to "lock" a note? There are a couple of digits within the note so I tried locking one with only letters and it still asked for access to my contacts. What does it want with just my contacts while I'm attempting to secure something from others? | SMS virus/bug from scammy email addresses Posted: 23 Jan 2021 08:03 PM PST First off, yes I Googled this. Recently I've been receiving scammy text messages from long ass email addresses. I opened one of the messages - not a link - to block the sender and there was no option to do so. I was messing around in my messages (sms) notification settings and this sender installed a separate notification setting for the sender only. I wish I could upload a photo... The sender name is: centersupport9932wellsbankverificationnot345422 at corporate serve dot com. I ran malwarebytes and nothing. Apparently my galaxy s20 doesn't have a native antivirus?! | Google Play Payment Service Not Available Posted: 23 Jan 2021 06:37 PM PST About 4 days ago, I began getting a pop-up at the bottom of my screen that says "Google Play Payment Service is not Available, please update the Playstore to the latest version." I find this puzzling and concerning, because my Playstore is the latest version. On the google forums site, a single person responded to reboot the phone is safe mode, and from that I found it was from a 3rd party app. But the post is now locked, and there is no information on what to do next. Could an app be trying to make unauthorized purchases? My account has two step verification and new sign in alerts, and nobody has access to my account except me. I have a large amount of available storage on my phone, so I have over 40 different 3rd party apps (I know its alot, but I'm bored alot on my phone now-a-days) and don't know which one could be causing this pop-up. Posted: 23 Jan 2021 04:57 PM PST Hi everyone, I recently found my old S4 (GT-I9505) in a box and remembered that I had some photos on it that I wanted to recover. It is charging, vibrating and connecting to a pc but its not showing any files since its locked behind a pattern/pin (don't know which its been a long time and I also don't know what the password would be). I have read that files may still be recovered with something called TWRP. I did some research but the problem is that the screen is broken and doesn't show anything so I wouldn't be able to navigate the recovery OS (?) even if I manage to correctly install it without a screen. Is there anything left I can do to save my files? Do I need to replace the screen to properly access this TWRP? Any help appreciated! Thank you very much! [link] [comments]  |
