No solutions yet. Next it was time for a "strange" keyboard when I turn on my phone.(here my original,and here the strange.) Does anyone have any idea how to revert those changes??please. I want to get root privilege, but it sounds pretty scary as I can't afford to buy a new phone. If I flash Magisk and TWRP to the phone, will the PlayProtect certificate be revoked? | Posted: 02 Nov 2020 06:42 PM PST (Flair is tentative - the others didn't seem to fit more, so I chose this.) I use a Tab S6 as my primary device. Android 10, One UI 2.5, latest (available) security. The way I use one app (Discord - specifically v19.6 because the tabs UI is a w f u l on tablet) leads me to download a ton of images. And that's fine, except I also have most of my images sorted really well. I don't like downloading images then moving them to the right folder because that's just an unneeded step. I have looked in the Discord app and Files app settings, and there is no way to do this within those. Would I need another app, or is there something secret I should be aware of? [link] [comments]  |

| Disabling "Hey Google" detection when locked on Android 11 Posted: 02 Nov 2020 04:16 PM PST I recently noticed that my phone started responding to "Hey Google" when locked (I noticed because it randomly "responded" to stuff). I had that disabled with previous versions of Android, but the settings to do that are no longer there in Android 11. The best I've found is to have it not respond to the voice prompt at all, or respond to it always (the text by the setting actually says "even if your screen is off"). Does anyone know if this setting just got removed, or if it just moved somewhere else, or if some other setting affects it? This is on a Pixel 3, Android 11, rooted. [link] [comments]  |
| Weird Artifacts When Transferring Videos Over WiFi Posted: 02 Nov 2020 05:55 PM PST Hey guys, so I have a Samsung Note10+ and i'm trying to transfer the same exact identical MP4 videos shot using the phone via two methods:
So even though both methods work, I'm getting very weird subtle video artifacts/glitching when using Method2. I tried playing back the glitched videos using VLC, WMP, Splash Player, etc, they all show the glitching happening in the same exact spot, so I know its an issue with the file transfer itself. The spots where the glitching occurs appear random and seem determined at the time of transferring. The below link shows a sample image. Notice how the chair arm rest has pixeling/artifcating along the top and bottom. It does this for a second, then fades back normally. Does anyone have ideas what might be happening ? Posted: 02 Nov 2020 10:07 PM PST I use Android 10, and I've encountered a small problem that isn't a big deal but does slightly get on my nerves. When I use the search function and search for a bank name, for example let's say my bank has an abbreviation of "MB" , it wouldn't show up. This is because the bank app for some reason named itself "Banking". I often end up searching "MB" and getting nothing, and it would happen every time I try to access my bank. It's a small issue, but I'm wondering if there was a way to make the app searchable by the bank name, or some way to redirect the searches. | Posted: 02 Nov 2020 06:11 PM PST So I have owned a Pixel 2 device for 3 years now, and it has suddently stopped working 2 times (and both times the exact same problem, the display simply stops working). The first time it was under warranty and I got a new one back. And yesterday it happened again, and I don`t have any warranty coverage anymore. By the way, both devices were exacly the same age when it happened. Tough luck. So I`m in the hunt for a new device and I`m looking for mid-high end products that match a similar performance. I`m living in Brazil, so I can`t buy another Pixel or Google device. I was thinking about an S10 lite or an S10e, since they match my price range at the moment. I value the most in a smartphone is battery life, little bit on the construction and ergonomics side of things and camera. Do you guys have any other suggestion ? I'd like to use it as a blank device to edit gopro footage since my main phone is full. I've seen a couple of threads online that use desktop apps to mirror the content, but they have all had a requirement that you tap "ok" or allow for the mirroring to start. | Posted: 02 Nov 2020 05:29 PM PST I use Redmi Note 3. The batteries swelled a while ago, so I got it replaced. Then this strange situation happened. For example: I charge to 97% then stopped charging to use the phone, but a few seconds later, it immediately drops to 91%. However, it remains at 91% for a very long time, as if it is actually 97% but the phone is showing 91% by mistake. A visual error, sort of. Other than that, the phone works perfectly fine. Is this normal? EDIT: So I rebooted my phone when it happened again, and when the screen came back on, the battery percentage returned to normal. | Android keeps making calls in the background without any app Posted: 02 Nov 2020 07:12 PM PST I have an LG Journey and recently it makes calls by itself. The phone app or any other communication app doesn't come up. It makes a call without it that gives a busy signal that I can hear on my the portion of the phone that goes to my ear. If I make a call to someone, then hang up it clears it. But then a few seconds later it doea it again. This is really weird. [link] [comments]  |
