Looking for an communication app that can automatically connects to the receiver, for the elderly. Posted: 04 Nov 2020 07:19 AM PST Hello I'm looking for an android app for communication like Whatsapp/Facebook messenger/skype that does the exact same thing as them but when installed on two android devices has a feature (preferably that can be switched on/off) that automatically "answers the call" on the receiver end. What I mean is, when I start a call (video call) on my end, the person that I'm calling to will not need to do anything on their end, the video immediately starts without any interference from the receiver, specifically not pressing a button or anything. This might seem like a strange thing but with confinement taking a significant importance and being re-implemented in my country I have elderly family members that live on their own (some in far locations) and while we do exchange phone/voice calls regularly this needed distancing is damaging for their well being has they will be very isolated otherwise. Normally we'd use one of the apps mentioned above, but these elders are very technologically impaired, where even using a regular, button (non-smartphone) cellphone is already a complicated matter and they have constant issues so using a smartphone plus a communication app will be a pointless endeavor and a waist of money as they wouldn't/couldn't use it. So my idea here was to use an old tablet I have, that I use very little lately and try to install an app that does what I said above so that my family can video call the elders and the connection can be established without their intervention and hopefully minimize the effect of the isolation. Preferably the app should use just WIFI but if it needs to be used in combination with a phone number/SIM card no problem, the issue here is just making sure we can establish the connection without the elderly's intervention in the receiving device. Does anyone know an app that can do this? Thank you very much [link] [comments] |
Looking for a DVD/bluray organization app that supports an external bluetooth barcode scanner? Posted: 04 Nov 2020 06:57 AM PST I've got a massive movie collection, and would like to use a dedicated barcode scanner instead of having to use my phone's camera every time. Anyone familiar with an app that will support that? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 04 Nov 2020 10:42 AM PST I orginally went to Andriod for the speed, flexability and the S8 Keyboard case (Makes me popular with the ladies), but I want to do so only if there's a mail app that functions like the iOS mailapp. In 2018, this wasn't the case. I'm looking for a mail app that... - Allows opening more than one draft at a time - Doesn't break the line when wraping text - Good plain-text & formatted-text handeling - Does not rewrite link addresses with the name of the link plus it's full address. - Trust that my 100+ drafts won't be deleted because of a bug - Stable and doesn't crash I left Andriod for a stable Mail app and the apple touch screen. Apple no longer uses the same touch screen as in older models, and although the Mail app will continue to be stable, iOS will not; so i'm prepping for a return. Any ideas? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 04 Nov 2020 05:59 AM PST So I usually scroll on reddit (and other apps) using dark mode in a dark room, but sometimes there's post with bright color image, which often blinds me out. Is there any app to make the image darker (only the images)? Cause I'm already using lower brightness app, but it makes the text barely visible. [link] [comments] |

Stupid question: can I change my user flair on this sub? Where? Posted: 04 Nov 2020 07:58 AM PST I've been looking for more than an hour now, but I couldn't find exactly where to do it. I know it's a dumb question, but I wanted to update my device on the user flair. Any tips? [link] [comments] |
Anyone know an app that lets you take audio recordings instantaneously? Posted: 04 Nov 2020 07:53 AM PST So imagine you got your Bluetooth buds in your ears and your phone isn't with you, or not reachable at the moment, is there an app that lets you quickly "jot" down an idea in a sound recording through your wireless buds? How do I remove "MeinMagenta" from my Samsung galaxy 40A? Posted: 04 Nov 2020 07:39 AM PST I'm in the process of removing bloatware via ADB but I can't seem to get rid of this German speaking app that does nothing for me, any ideas? I'd love to get a different OS but haven't found any that seems good enough yet (I'm mainly focused on privacy) For those who are curious about what I'm doing, I'm following these instructions: https://beebom.com/remove-bloatware-android-no-root/But I had to use different ADB client since the recommended one from "Ggl" just doesn't work at all. ("Minimal ADB and Fastboot") [link] [comments] |
