(Ideally) free app to sync unaligned audio and video?

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 02:32 AM PDT

I don't mean for playback, I want to actually edit and overwrite videos recorded on my phone.

It's a oneplus 7t pro and for some reason it is 100% incapable of recording audio and video in sync. it's not really a huge problem for general video, but I often make little demos of songs and film them so I can come back to them later, and they are sooo out of sync it's horrible.

I literally just want something so I can nudge the audio a little and resave. I can do this on my computer easily but obviously it's a bunch of extra steps.

    Thanks!

PC to android file transfer app ?

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 04:49 AM PDT

What is the best and reliable and heavy duty app to use for transferring large files and folders from pc to android phone/tablet. The simple drag and drop method does not work for me as the trasfer stops after few minutes for no reason. I have meadiatek tab910 512 gb android 10 ?

Thank you all for the app suggestion so I just tried filezilla. It looked nice and easy the transfer of around 20gb of books from pc to android tablet took 30 minute . I was happy but when i checked the destination folder all the file sizes are 0 and i cannot open them. What is wrong ?

The tablet is 512gb android 10 mediatek tab910. I have been trying to transfer the books since yesterday but no success!!! complete nightmare really.

App to change incoming call screen

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 10:04 AM PDT

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but currently, I dislike the incoming call screen of my phone a lot. To answer a call, I have to swipe up on a phone symbol and swipe down to decline. When I swipe up, most of the time, it wouldn't answer the call. To decline a call is worse, the amount of space I have on the screen to decline a call is only around 1 inch, so it's basically impossible to drag/swipe the phone symbol down to decline.

Is there any way I can change my incoming call screen, either through apps or any other methods?

    Kiwi Browser vs Bromite

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 02:28 AM PDT

So im stuck at choosing over kiwi browser and bromite, i like both of them as they have a pretty strong adblock and both are also fork of chrome and opensource. Kiwi can install chrome extensions so thats a plus but the downside is it is still in chrome v.77 and its outdated so theres a occasional lags and freezing, but in Bromite its update is very fast so it always runs with the latest chrome version it even runs on chrome v.86 right now and its pretty fast and snappy and has a strong ad blocking too, so who do you guys think wins?

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 04:31 AM PDT

I want to find an app that has no ads and lets me choose where to save the pdf.

Preferably it should work through a share menu when I select photos in Google Photos.

    Any suggestions?

Chrome, Total launcher and Power shortcuts

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 12:48 AM PDT

I have installed Power shortcuts so that I can create an action that launches Chrome and goes to a specific website but cannot figure it out.

I know you can create a shortcut and have it on your home screen but I am using Total launcher instead of the native launcher

If this is not possible, is there a way to do it in Total launcher?

    Looking for SoundWire alternatives

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 05:22 AM PDT

Any modern alternatives would be great. This app has been rock solid and served me for the over the years with no hiccups. But I have a tiny feeling that I may be missing out on a similar app/service that may be more optimized for today's use.

    Any suggestions?

I will be routing audio locally from a Linux machine to an Android phone.

Best free app for photo editing?

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 04:59 AM PDT

But not artistic editing like Snapseed or Google Photo editing. Sometimes I just want to cut and paste two photos together or something similar like that and I have any app that can do that.

Something like Paint does in windows (I do not need to open photoshop to do that hahaha)

    [DEV] ChiCross - a free Picross-like game I made

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 08:42 AM PDT

Hello, I would like to share a game I made as a way to use my knowledge while learning programming. It's a simple logic game that follows the rules of pictures and has some little educational flavour to it. I am a 100% amateur, this is my first non-tutorial project ever which took me a bit over a month to make. It's quite simple, so a pro would probably only need a day or two, but hey, it ain't much, but it's honest work. The game is entirely free with no in-app purchases or ads whatsoever. I will be grateful for every piece of feedback, even if based solely on screenshots.
    Link to store
GitHub - you can take a look at the source code if you like, I used Flutter to make the game. Also, there is more pictures in the repo than in the store.

    **Game**
The goal of the game is to uncover a hidden picture (a Chinese character to be precise) by marking tiles. To know which tiles should be marked and which should be left alone the player must follow hints on top and to the left of the board. For example, a horizontal hint that says " 2 3 1" means that in a given row there is an unspecified number of blank tiles (including zero), then 2 tiles that you have to mark in a row, at least one empty tile, three tiles that needs marking, at least one space, one tile to be marked and finally 0 or more tiles to be left undisturbed. Tapping once marks the tile as correct, tapping twice or holding tile makes it "crossed out" - it's a cool way to stop yourself from accidentally clicking on or forgetting about the tiles thay you know cannot be correct.

    **Unimportant background info**
I actually finished the project about a month ago. It was the very first considerably large "coding-thingy" I made without any tutorial guiding me. I was really anxious when I was starting, being afraid of that I will not be good enough to finish it on my own, but I eventually managed to achieve all of my goals. Recently, I've been devoting all my time to writing my thesis - a marathon that will probably last for another month in the very least. I have no time for programming or anything other than the thesis, sadly, and I decided to look back at my project to cheer myself up. This post is 100% a shameless promotion I didn't want to do in the past, but I hope you, dear fellow Redditors, will forgive me for it. The game is actually quite fun if you like logic games, I tend to play it commuting or being bored.

    Slack for Android 4.4 ?

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 04:54 AM PDT

I used to have Slack on my phone back in 2015 and would like it again. My old Slack app no longer works and the new version won't install on 4.4. I got version 19.09.20 which seems to be the last version for 4.4+, but it doesn't work (?).

Does anyone else have Slack working on KitKat?

Hi everyone! I am proud to announce the launch of my new app, PlantifyDr, which detects diseases in plant leaves. This app has been three months in the making and I'm excited to share it. I am currently trying to get as much user feedback as possible, so I would really appreciate a review or rating on the Google Play Store. Help me reach 1,000 downloads.

Looking for a NON-CAMERA motion sensor app

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 07:35 AM PDT

I'm trying to find a way to use a phone as a theft alarm -- if the accelerometer detects any motion/shaking/vibration between 8pm and 4am, send me a text message. The phone would be hidden in my toolbox.

Problem is, the keyword 'motion' is a thousand camera-based apps. The keyword 'alarm' is all alarm clocks. I can't pick out the correct terms to find an app that uses the accelerometer to detect movement.

I found a guide on building my own version ( Motion Sensor SMS Alert App for nerds and bikers but I'm curious if another version already exists. Edit: their development studio is broken so I can't even use that
