Are you switching from Oneplus to another brand?

    Posted: 02 Sep 2020 12:45 PM PDT

As the title says. Starting with my self, its been a fun time testing out a Oneplus phone. I tried it since a friend of mine recommended it. His sale arguments were the cheap price, stock Androind and the fast response time.

But i am not buying another Oneplus, as they have become just as expensive as Samsung or iPhone. So i am most likely going for a Samsung model the next time i am buying a new smartphone. I have 10 months left on my payment plan, and that is perfect timing for the release of the new Samsung S30.

When can we expect Android 11 dropping for various OP devices?

    Posted: 02 Sep 2020 04:42 PM PDT

I was thinking we could gather in a post all the dates for potential android 11 updates dropping for each OnePlus phone that will receive one (btw if anyone knows if the OP5 and OP6 will be getting updates that would be cool to know, thanks!)

I love the new OxygenOS 11 UI

    Posted: 02 Sep 2020 03:11 AM PDT

OnePlus is making its OS more modern without sacrificing what we know and love about it. I'm sure it will still be as fluid as ever. The fact that they are moving away from stock Android is not their fault, but rather Android's fault for not keeping up with the new user interface standards

How can I set the default alarm ringtone on my alarms?

    Posted: 02 Sep 2020 03:56 PM PDT

I'm using the stock OP alarms app on the latest OOS and I can't seem to set the default alarm ringtone. It's a pain to have to manually change the alarm ringtone of each alarm I create. Any ways to bypass this? (And I can only use this app, because this app allows me to set alarms into the future on a certain day.)

ATT Voicemail not working (OP8) (I posted this in r/ATT as well if that matters)

    Posted: 02 Sep 2020 07:29 PM PDT

I know the oneplus 8 isn't offered by ATT, but they still support the unlocked version on their network for calls, text, and data. The issue I am coming across recently is that I have discovered that my voicemail does not work. It's not that I don't get them, people just can't leave them.

I tried setting it up by holding 1 in the dialer and was greeted by a "this wireless customer is unavailable. Message 1, US01LV" and then it ends the call. I've tried troubleshooting on ATT's website, but they don't even list Oneplus phones on the troubleshooting page, so it isn't helpful.

Has anyone else been in this situation and/or has a fix for this?

I'm getting like 8-10 hours of SOT from my OnePlus 8 Pro...

    Posted: 02 Sep 2020 07:21 PM PDT

    Proof: https://imgur.com/a/ZNuAeyU

I have no idea how I'm doing this. For context, I've had a slow work week and I've spent basically my entire day on Sync for Reddit, along with YouTube, Tumblr, and Instagram.

    • I keep brightness at about 60% with no adaptive brightness.

    • I keep my phone at 120Hz and 1080p

    • No motion smoothing for videos

    • I keep "adaptive display" on

    • That 4% from Netflix? That was from watching a 45 minute episode of Connected.

Anyway, props to OnePlus for giving me the best battery life I've ever had!

    Nearby Sharing

    Posted: 02 Sep 2020 10:33 AM PDT

Anyone else got Nearby Sharing that's fully working without doing the beta thing?

I previously enrolled into the beta and had it, then reverted as no one else had it. This left the icon for nearby sharing in my notifications, but didn't do anything.

My icon was missing after a while until recently, when I went to add more toggles and it was back and fully working.

Wondering if anyone else has had it enabled for them?

    7T series update life cycle

    Posted: 02 Sep 2020 01:17 PM PDT

Does anyone know how long the 7T/Pro will get OS updates? Since it shipped with android 10 out of the box is it safe to assume that it will get updated upto android 13?

Sound when Google assistant is activated?

    Posted: 02 Sep 2020 05:44 PM PDT

just switched to a OnePlus 8 Pro a week ago... how do you make Google assistant make the "ding" sound when you call for it? activating it via "OK Google" or by holding the power button down calls up Google assistant but there is no sound.

Is there a new phone that's gonna be launched in the price range of the Nord.

    Posted: 02 Sep 2020 05:34 PM PDT

I'm going to order the Oneplus Nord and I'm not really sure if there's another OnePlus phone getting released in that price segment.

Because if it's gonna launch then I can hold it off for a while.

No banner notifications for DMs instagram OnePlus 6T

    Posted: 02 Sep 2020 11:48 AM PDT

Hello, I've been having a problem where when I get a Instagram DM on my phone, no notification banner appears, the only way to see that I got a notification is by pulling down my notification panel. I checked the notification settings for Instagram and see nothing wrong, any ideas?

Planning an upgrade to a McLaren 7T Pro. Have some questions and concerns though.

    Posted: 02 Sep 2020 03:20 PM PDT

So I'm pretty much sold on the hardware side, I love the every aspect of the phone. I would get an 8 but I personally don't like the hole punch display on any phones. The pop-up camera is perfect for me since I hardly ever use the main camera I don't even have to worry about the motorized mechanism getting damaged. My main concerns are the camera. I come from a LG V30 and I LOVE the wide angle camera and I know the 7 has it but I've heard you can't record with it which is my main use case. Has that changed at all? Is there a way around it? Has GCam been ported over? From launch has the camera gone from fine to good or is it still just an OK shooter? Is there 4k60fps recording? Is there anything I should know about the phone when it comes to longevity? Battery, performance, etc. Thank you!

    Oneplus Nord: screen

    Posted: 02 Sep 2020 12:12 AM PDT

    Hi,

Just got a Oneplus Nord from my employer, but the screen gets really dirty (full of fingerprints) FAST. Any tips on that? Or is it because it's new?

Nord second gift box audio choices.

    Posted: 02 Sep 2020 10:51 AM PDT

So I'm being offered BW v1 and BW Z with the preorder box for Nord. Which one should I go for. I'd prefer better audio quality so a little confused between both.

Oneplus / OOS experience on Samsung.

    Posted: 02 Sep 2020 01:51 PM PDT

I had the OP6 since launch and loved it, especially the OOS touches and general feel.

I recently got the S20 Ultra 5G, so my main question is there any way to put OOS onto the phone. I don't mind if I have to flash a ROM to support it, ideally not but it's not a deal breaker.

I've tried using the One UI and it's horrible compared to OOS.

Anyone know how to either install a OOS ROM or maybe a hack pack with some similar / same feature add ons.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

[stupid questions] How do I turn off my OnePlus Nord?

    Posted: 02 Sep 2020 09:33 AM PDT

As the title says, stupid question, im sorry.

I'm lost, whenever i hold down the power button the Nord opens Google Assistent instead of shutting down or giving me the option to reboot.

My guess is it's a setting, but i cant find which one.

Any help? Again, stupid question, im sorry

    OEF for Support Coming Soon

    Posted: 02 Sep 2020 07:07 AM PDT

Just by lurking in this sub for a while I can really tell that OnePlus (at least in NA), has some serious QC issues, as well as shitty customer service and repair. Could this be a way to make our voices heard?
