Phone: Mi 10 Youth Edition (Lite Zoom)

    ROM: 12.0.3.0 (CN ROM)

    Synopsis:

I have a one-year old daughter who isn't sleeping a lot lately and I was curious how my phone does with MIUI 12 installed. She's up quite a bit as teeth are coming in, so I'm playing on the phone before I go to sleep for a while and after I get awoken and use the toilet. Standard usage for me: FB, Browsing, WhatsApp video calls, Phone calls, 30 min of video made with the stock camera app and saved. Many photos. Standard stuff.

Caveat: MIUI 12 only displays 24 hour periods, so I took some screenshots to aid with the calculations.

Start of test: Day 1, right after 7am (yes! I got some sleep), I unplugged the phone and used it (UK is mostly still on lockdown and I'm on the phone more than I would be usually).

First time point: when did the phone hit 50% ... 02.26 at the next morning with 4h14m SOT and 15h3m standby time.

Second time point: end of the 24h cycle ... 7.05am the next day with 6h10m SOT and 17h44m standby time. Battery life after 24h is 37% remaining

Final time point: 2% left 18.25 evening of day 2 with 3h 12m SOT and 8h 13 standby time after the 24h time point.

TOTAL RUN TIME: 9h22m SOT plus 25h57m STANDBY for 35.5h total usage on a single charge.

Anyways, I find that superb and hope that is serves as a decent unoptimised MIUI battery real-word test. It's now 20.33 in the evening and I'm knackered, so I'm off to bed; have a nice evening.

And I hope that everyone enjoys MIUI 12 as I'm finding it stellar.

Have a nice rest of your week and stay safe out there!

Play Store search bar is hidden by the notifications bar - MIUI 11.09 - Redmi Note 9S

    Posted: 30 Jun 2020 11:09 PM PDT

I've had this issue a few days ago. It is still possible to use the search bar, but a little hard. At this point, I've tried cleaning cache, changing full screen settings, restarting the phone... Nothing worked yet. Maybe it's because 11.09 is a pre-release and have some bugs, but I'm not sure that is the case. Does anyone knows how to solve this problem?

Mi A2 Lite on its last legs , what's the best replacement?

    Posted: 30 Jun 2020 11:22 PM PDT

I've had my Mi A2 Lite for roughly 18 months and it seems to be finally on its last legs (taking ages to charge , weird screen issues where it will randomly open things)

Just wondering what the best replacement would be for under £250 (happy to look at refurbished devices )

How can i enable the quick settings, i had with MIU11 on MIU12 (MI9 with Nova launcher)?

    Posted: 30 Jun 2020 11:39 AM PDT

When i draw the status bar from the top, there are only the Status notifications there now. All the quick settings are gone (all the switches like flashlight, wlan, brightness etc.) Tried to work through all the settings but haven't found them so far. Quick help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Posted: 30 Jun 2020 10:32 PM PDT

    Hey guys,

So I've seen links to download MIUI 12 Global ROM online, to then update using the "choose update package" button.

I just wanted know if this is good and safe, as I've been waiting for OTA for so long now.

    Thank you.

MIUI 12 - Mobile data usage and notifications

    Posted: 30 Jun 2020 02:40 PM PDT

Is it just me or the MIUI 12 don't have the ability to program notifications for mobile data usage and the indication on the control center of how much data you've left and how much you used on each day? I cannot find that on settings. This was a really important feature, I only have 2GB per month.... 😬

    Haylou GT1 XR?

    Posted: 30 Jun 2020 09:06 PM PDT

I was about to purchase GT1 Plus then I saw GT1 XR which looks like it is the earbuds of GT1 Plus with the qualcomm chipset, in a 800mah charging box like the GT1 Pro's. I can't seem to find a lot of info on it & no one seems to talk about it?

Xiaomi Redmi 8 and Custom Recovery

    Posted: 30 Jun 2020 07:54 PM PDT

I have a Xiaomi Redmi 8 and been looking around for a Custom Recovery and it makes me really happy that there is official TWRP and some other CR

but I wonder which one is actually better OrangeFox or TWRP

also for OrangeFox it says OTA does that mean I can just install OTA updates without worrying that it's going to get bricked or something

Black Shark 3 (non pro) questions

    Posted: 30 Jun 2020 07:54 PM PDT

Just received my Black Shark 3 today and I have a couple of questions. One is if I can get the home/back/menu buttons at the bottom a bit more spaced out? Secondly and more importantly: I put the SIM card from my old phone into this one (my carrier is Verizon) and the service seems to be constantly cutting in and out. Is there a way to fix that as well?

    MIUI 12 Debloat Mi9t pro?

    Posted: 30 Jun 2020 05:00 AM PDT

With the new Miui some xiaomi bloat apps reinstalled themselves (Browser and Calendar for example). Did anyone debloated apps yet? And if you did what apps did you debloated? It it functioning normally?
EDIT: I uninstalled some apps among them the calendar and browser apps with Xiaomi ADB Fastboot tool and they didn't disappeared from the screen. I also tried disabling them and they are still there.
